I visited Cirocolino twice with a cousin, and both times were absolutely wonderful! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Along with the drinks, they serve bread, which is a lovely touch. The pasta, burger, and cheeses are all outstanding! The portions are very generous - more than enough to satisfy, and every bite is full of flavor. I especially want to praise the staff - today, the gentleman serving the cheese kindly looked for a colleague who speaks better English so they could explain the cheeses to me in more detail. That was such a thoughtful gesture and truly made my experience even better. I’ll really miss the flavors of this place! Also, the lady at the register is incredibly kind and radiates positive energy – it honestly makes you not want to leave. Highly recommended!

One of the main restaurants in Bergamo. Situated in the old city on the hill on a former prison I was told. Very much a huge dining space inside and out. This has many of the local pasta dishes and things like rabbit which are unique to the area. The service was pretty good given the size of our group and the sheer number of diners even on a Wednesday night. Booking is probably a good idea. All the food was excellent overall although maybe some may prefer somewhere mor intimate. I would certainly come back and enjoyed the great atmosphere. The steak and rabbit and cheese were the best.

Wow! What a great restaurant in a heart of Bergamo! Super delicious food, we had octopus for the starter and Fiorentina steak as a main with a bottle of wine. Everything was super delicious, very good quality and in reasonable price. The service was quick and professional, the food came quickly. I recommend stepping in earlier and booking a table: the restaurant can host up to 600 guests but it gets busy in the evenings. I would definitely come back if I’m in Bergamo!

This is another one of those places that appears in all the guides as great value for local cuisine and ultimately disappoints, maybe these places are a victim of their own success? The two local polenta dishes we tried and their take on a local easter cake were all ok but nothing special. We were seated in a corner table (requested another but it was not possible). Our waitress was very sweet. Prices about average for this area

I had the braised beef with polenta and it was really delicious, the meat was very tender and tasty. The local cheese and salami plateau was also very good 👍 Sat outside on the huge terrace (like 100 tables or so) on a beautiful April sunny day, had a great time. Staff very polite & professional and serving quick, despite the restaurant being packed (hundreds of clients).

Everything was amazing — from the atmosphere of the place to the service, and most importantly, the food. The staff was friendly and attentive, the setting was cozy and welcoming, and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

This was our first dinner in Bergamo, and believe me, it was absolutely unforgettable. The establishment is spacious and very stylish. We particularly enjoyed our seats on the first floor, by the long walk of wine bottles. Dimitri served our table, and he was always very kind, relaxed, and very funny! He first brought us three amazing starters, best were the local ravioli, and then three equally tasty but even larger main courses. We struggled to finish everything! And at the end, the bill remained very modest, even including a carafe of local red wine. Very fun evening :)

A Culinary Gem in the Heart of Città Alta Stumbled upon Circolino Città Alta thanks to Google Maps, and I’m so glad I did — the reviews were absolutely spot on! This place is a true gem nestled in the beautiful upper town of Bergamo. The food was to die for — with a fantastic mix of options, from traditional pasta and wood-fired pizza to perfectly cooked meats. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It’s the kind of place where every bite feels like a celebration of Italian cuisine. The setting is charming and full of character, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great meal. Whether you're just visiting Bergamo or staying a while, Circolino is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Yelp
A colleague from Bergamo recommended this restaurant to us. We sat outside in the courtyard. They were very busy on the Saturday we were there in early November. The weather was lovely and views awesome. The food service was quick. Two entree's bottle of local wine, and dessert for less than 50 euros. This was frankly one of the better meals (among many excellent ones) we had in the Milan area, and one of the least expensive. This is a must stop if you are exploring the upper city!

Yelp
Truly amazing food in the heart of Citta Alta. If you're looking for some real Italian food where locals go - come to Il Circolino! Our friend from Bergamo told us about this place. We came here around siesta time, so when we finished eating, we've realised that no one else is here, not counting us, an owner lady and some really old people reading newspapers. And we still felt welcomed! Interior is really comfy - dark wooden tables and chairs, big bar, where you can drink your espresso and leave, newspapers, old wine bottles, some photos on the walls and a lot of people. True Italian vibes. Menu is in Italian or English. They have variety of Italian goods here - pasta, pizza, main dishes, everything is really tasty and in good prices! We've decided to take a fixed menu for, as I recall, 14 euros, with pasta, main dish and a wine/coffee and water. I don't remember what we ordered exactly but I think I've had something similar to ravioli with ragu and bacon, ahhhhhhh, amazing!!! Main dish was simply big amount of meat with fries or mashed potatoes, nothing too crazy, but tasty as well. Wine - omnomnom. Food is damn good and the whole place is so cute. One of the old guys smiled at me and said "cin cin" when I was drinking my wine. The owner of this place, nice lady, was speaking only Italian, but we somehow managed to talk with her - Italian gestures, "molto bene" and "perfetto" were enough to communicate and leave big smiles on our faces. Grazie mille!

Yelp
Great casual place in the middle of Citta Alta. It is hidden away in a side alley off the main shopping street, but just ask anyone, they know where it is. We had a polenta appetizer, casoncelli, and a pizza. The portions were pretty big. The menu is pretty big too. They have all the classic local and italian dishes. The food was delicious although the place got loud at times, with all the families with small kids. This is definitely a place for groups.

Yelp
Decent, tasty Italian food. Local people around. Good wine. Service is awkward but friendly. If you go there on Saturday better have a reservation or don't go at all.
