Cirkusz Café is one of Budapest’s more popular brunch spots, often recommended in travel guides and social media posts, and you can definitely see why. The interior has a stylish, somewhat upscale vibe, with a modern-industrial look and a lively atmosphere. It feels like the kind of place that wants to impress, and in many ways, it does. The presentation of the food is beautiful, and the service is friendly and professional. However, once you get past the first impression, the experience doesn’t quite live up to the hype. The menu is creative and well-curated, with plenty of brunch classics, but the portions are noticeably small for the price. It’s definitely on the expensive side, especially compared to other great cafés in Budapest that offer similar or even better quality at a lower cost. You might find yourself leaving still a bit hungry, not exactly ideal for a hearty morning meal. That said, the food itself is good. The eggs are cooked perfectly, the coffee is strong and well-made, and everything looks like it came straight from a food magazine. Still, the high prices and limited portions make it hard to justify as a regular spot, unless you’re specifically after the experience rather than the meal. In short, Cirkusz Café is a nice place to visit once, especially if you want a stylish brunch setting and don’t mind paying extra for presentation and ambiance. But if you’re after good value, generous servings, and a more relaxed feel, there are plenty of better options around the city. It’s lovely, just not quite worth the hype or the price tag.

This restaurant is AMAZINGGGGGG. The food was one of the most delicious breakfast I had in years. I had the recover breakfast. Those scramble eggs were like clouds. The flat white coffee strong as I love it. Now, the staff and the service was the star of the show. They are on it. Rotating the tables like professionals. Our food was served in 6 minutes, despite how busy the were. This place is one jewel in Budapest.

It was a lovely experience for us. I really enjoyed my dish. The only negative was that the bacon in my girlfriend’s meal was very dry and too crispy and not good at all, but that was the only issue. We were happy with both the service and the quality of the food. Everything arrived quickly, and I had an orange juice that was really fresh. I would definitely recommend this place.

Yes, just as all the reviews say, you really do wait a long time — but it’s absolutely worth it. The menu is truly unique, and the egg dishes at breakfast are especially legendary and delicious. Despite being a small, local place, it has managed to create a very distinctive atmosphere. It’s definitely one of the must-visit spots when in Budapest.

Good place for breakfast. All you may want. Presentation is esquisite. Plates are presented spectacular and clean. The belgian waffles are really good buck the chocolate is too liquid for my liking. Orange juice and coffee was perfect.

Actually we had a good breakfast. The recovery breakfast was good enough to fill you up. The roast beef benedict was different but good, I never had this kind of benedict that has a roast beef 10/10. Wait time to be seated is around at least 10 minutes. It was a tasty breakfast overall.

I went to this cafe after looking at all the amazing reviews and well as much as it didnt disappoint, the waiting time was insane. I waited because I didnt have much to do but you really have to come with a lot of patience to be here. Other than that the coffee was great and even the Tiramisu, it was fresh and yum. Definitely worth if you have the time.

We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Cirkusz. The pancakes were goos, and both the Eggs Benedict Royal and the classic Eggs Benedict were perfectly prepared. Each dish was flavorful, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. It was a great way to start the day, and we left completely satisfied. A highly recommended breakfast spot.
