The walls are very thin and the noise level is high. Service was mediocre, inattentive, and disorganized. I was told my room would be ready in 10 more minutes after already waiting over 4 hours, only to be left abandoned in the lobby for another hour because the front desk staff forgot about me.
To make matters worse, once my room was finally ready, the staff switched shifts and the new attendant had no idea where my luggage was. There was clearly no communication between team members to ensure a smooth handover for guests. They even asked me and another couple where our bags were stored despite being the ones who had taken them from us. Why wouldn’t the previous shift inform the next that my luggage was kept in a separate storage area? Thankfully, I had seen where they placed it and had to retrieve it myself, as the staff seemed completely clueless. The only compensation offered was a free breakfast, which only costs £15 anyway.
Despite claims of recent renovations, the amenities felt dated. My bedding was clearly old and worn out, and the room temperature was impossible to regulate. Either sweltering or freezing. No robes provided, just basic paper slippers. Cheap shedding towels. Housekeeping is not thorough and bathroom didn’t really feel clean. Stingy with toilet paper and tissues, which were also cheap and scratchy.
The only good thing about this hotel is its location as it’s very central and convenient for getting around. Overall, a very disappointing experience and would not return.
Editing this review to note that my room was entered twice (while I was inside) on days when it was not scheduled for cleaning. Management handled the situation very poorly. The issue was repeatedly dismissed as a simple “mistake” or “human error.”
During our conversation, the manager tone-policed and gaslit me, implying that I was overreacting to what is clearly a serious safety concern. He continued to reprimand me for my behavior and insisted that I “show respect,” which was inappropriate given the circumstances. He even told me that I was “making him feel unsafe” and that he wanted to end the conversation, yet he proceeded to lecture me in a way that came across as deeply unprofessional and micro-aggressive. I told him that if I was making him so unsafe that he should leave, yet he stayed and kept talking / making excuses which made no sense. Clearly just wanted to victimize himself in the situation. At one point, he even brought up that he “has a great rapport with people of color.”
After everything, he ended by saying it “won’t happen again”—the same thing he said the first time it happened.
