It's Still Possible to Book a Last-Minute Trip to the Olympics in Paris

"A two-bedroom apartment in the 11th arrondissement, larger than the initial booking in the suburbs, with air conditioning and costing $9,000 for three weeks during the Olympics."

I have stayed here twice now (fall and winter) with two people and a dog. It’s very conveniently located and has reasonable and safe underground parking. The rooms really need to be fixed up, but they do seem to be well kept and clean. The kitchenettes in the room are well stocked. The staff has been mostly quite friendly towards us. I would recommend the hotel.

Staying here is basically like staying in a university dorm. It's serviceable, but bits of it are rundown and could use some maintenance and deep cleaning. We stayed a total of 16 nights in October. Pros: The hotel is in an excellent location with numerous restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, bars, and transit connections in a 10-minute walk or less (even more with a bit more walking). The internet/wi-fi connection was excellent. The room was very spacious, and the beds were more comfortable than I expected for the price point. The laundry is very convenient, we really liked using the app to reserve and time the laundry. It was great to have self-serve coffee and tea in the lobby, plus a coffee pot and toaster along with other kitchen equipment in the room. There was even a dishwasher and pods provided, which was so helpful! The front desk staff were all professional and very helpful. Cons: The room was very basic and very useable, but was worn down and could use some maintenance and updates, especially in the bathroom and kitchen (water damage, moldy tiles, old wall mount hairdryer). The lobby is nice but other common areas (elevators and hallways) have seen better days and could use some renovations and/or deep cleanings. Although the lobby and laundry room were spotless, the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom could have been cleaned better (for example, I needed to clean the kitchen drawer and cabinet pulls as they were all a bit crusty/grimy). However, perhaps it is hard to deep clean when things are falling apart! We liked the location overall, but the street and intersection in front of the hotel were very prone to sirens and lots and lots of car horns honking (more than in any other neighborhood for some reason). The windows were ok at blocking some sound, but earplugs may be in order for a quiet night of sleep.

I enjoyed my five-night stay at the Citadines Bastille Marais. From the booking to my arrival and throughout, the staff was professional, friendly, and fun to work with. The clerk who helped me store my luggage until time for check-in was helpful and friendly. When I came back to check in, she looked at me and said, "I've never seen you before in my life." Her joking made me feel right at home. ||One of the lovely clerks (Juna) lent me her personal charger overnight when I didn't have what I needed for my phone. The ice cube machine in the lobby was such a treat as was the free coffee available all day. Guests were welcome to add milk to their coffee from the breakfast room, another treat! My room was clean and large, and I enjoyed coffee and wine on the terrace adjacent to my room. The kitchenette was well-stocked, and I was happy to have a place to heat up a meal when I was too tired to go out to a cafe. The location is terrific, next to the big market held on Sundays and Thursdays along the Richard Lenoir Boulevard, and close to two Metro stops. The short walk toward the Bastille gets you into the heart of the city with access to good bus service and close to the Place de Vosges, the Picasso Museum, several notable churches, and the Opera.

I stayed in Citadines Bastille Marais Paris for 8 nights from 16 September 2025. It’s the first time that I stayed in this hotel.||It’s very centrally located. Metro station Bréguet-Sabin (line 5) is only a 3-minute walk away. It takes about 7 minutes to walk to Place de la Bastille. ||There’re 2 Franprix supermarkets and many dining options nearby. Marché Bastille, a large and vibrant food market, operates on Thursday and Sunday mornings on Boulevard Richard-Lenoir which is just outside the hotel. ||I’d a studio on the 6th floor. Its furnishings and decor were a little dated. And they only cleaned the studio once every 3 or 4 days (I forget the exact frequency). However, the size of the studio (around 30 sq m), which is big by Paris standard, more than made up for the relatively minor issues above. It’s quiet in the hotel itself and the area outside so I’d some quality sleep. ||The staff were friendly and helpful. ||I booked about 3 months in advance and the rate was around 210 euros per night. ||When I visit Paris next time, I’ll stay there again.

Great location and good transport links. Hotel was clean and reception friendly. Apartment was well proportioned, with all the basic facilities. Decor was a bit tired and although functional, the bathroom was scruffy and in need of modernisation.

This hotel is conveniently located close to Bastille and both bus and subway stations. The staff at the front desk answered questions politely when asked. The hotel seems run down and not very clean. There were hand prints on the inside of the bathroom door from the previous guests and oddly enough both my room and the elevator had issues with mosquitoes. In the entire time I was there - no cleaning staff entered my room. My room had a kitchen but no effort was made to empty garbages in either the kitchen or bathroom. I know I am not alone in this - as I observed other people going to the front desk to ask for more toilet paper and bringing their garbage down to the lobby to ask where they might empty it. When I made my booking, I specifically requested a room away from the elevator, so naturally I had the closest room to the elevator possible. I realize Paris, like any big city in Europe, is expensive but I would not recommend this hotel to my family or friends. Make note if you decide to stay there, that the hotel offers breakfast at a cost double what one might pay within a block of where it is situated.

We need bigger size of the room and laundry machines, so we selected this hotel although we know the room is not amazing. Location is good, it’s near to 3 stations, very easy to take you to any where in Paris. With the price we pay, we think it worths the money!

No air conditioning. They have some kind of swamp cooler system, but even with it churning away in a darkened room all day at « 65F » , your room will be 78F+ at night. Also, One of two elevators not working, for days. The front desk people can be really rude at times, as well. Save yourself some grief & find good accommodation in Paris. It’s hard to go out touristing in the heat all day, only to come back to hot hotel room at night.

Yelp
Stayed here for a couple consecutive nights on 2 separate pre-paid bookings, booked direct and it was merely a mediocre experience. Found out the hard way, during the heatwave, that only certain hotels in Paris are air-conditioned, even within a same brand... The best part about the stay was that the property is air conditioned, although somewhat dated and needing some refurbishment... Check-in was slightly bumpy, initially being offered a room with a broken A/C, before being upgraded to a Deluxe Studio, featuring a balcony, supposedly due to having status with ASR. The studio itself is dated, and in need of either some deep cleaning and/or remodeling. The first studio had a weak A/C unit and the 2nd studio had a strong A/C. Water pressure in the shower was excellent, although the drain was a touch finnicky. Towels were on the thinner side. The mattress was on the firmer side and provided a great nights rest. My studio ended up with 2 twins (instead of a double or queen), which was fine, which meant more space for my carry on! The kitchen was extremely dated, although well-equipped, including a dishwasher, hood, crockery, fridge, and microwave. A kitchenette is a phenomenal way to get additional square footage, in an otherwise tight hotel room! There was a complimentary espresso maker in the lobby along with a laundry room that can be operated by the WeWash app. Breakfast was available for a fee. There are numerous bakeries and grocery stores within walking distance to get breakfast! The Metro is also merely a few minutes away by foot!

Yelp
Paris is expensive. If you're like me, you probably want to be spending all your cash on delicious things to eat, fun things to do, and your lady (because you don't really bring anything else to the table). So check the Citadines out. It's not only affordable, but it comes with a little kitchen as well. We didn't do much cooking, but having a fridge means you can get yourself some breakfasty things at a nearby grocer and then you're only eating out 6 or 7 meals a day, as opposed to 8 or 9. It's clean and sunny, the shower works and the bed is decently comfortable. There's wi/fi in the lobby and an ethernet cable in the room. It's located in the Marais, which I love. And since the rate is not too bad at all, I'd definitely recommend it. Godspeed.

Yelp
Horrible experience. The AC was broken during the Paris heatwave and the staff did nothing to resolve it. When we opened the window to try and help the temp in the room. The street noise was terrible. Long time at check in as the one person who was available spent the whole time arguing with another customer. Stay anywhere else.

Yelp
We're staying here with parents and it is fabulous - room is clean and comes with a kitchen, dishwasher and half the price of staying in a real "Hotel" Paris is pretty expensive and the idea of being to able to buy breakfast and dinner at the monoprix and eat in your room is not only fun but is 1/4 of the price. Decent Chablis and Bordeaux are around 6 or 7 Euros - the bread is out of this world - just watch out for the Americans and the unpasteurized cheese. Bastille has great connections for the metro and there is even a Metro - Breguet Sabin that is directly outside the building. The place is clean - free internet in the roo although their wireless is only available in the lobby. If you're thinkingof coming to Paris and staying with close friends or family - I cannot recommend Citadines - and this location highly enough!

Yelp
I have never stayed somewhere with worse customer service. My toilet was overflowing and when I went down to the desk at 7:30 PM to request help, they told me that they had no maintenance workers on staff. I asked if they had a plunger to clean up myself, and of course they did not have one that I could use. I am currently in a hotel that I payed a substantial amount of money for with no toilet to use. It is ridiculous.

Yelp
Stayed in Paris for 6 nights with a large group of college students. The front desk was always very helpful and surprisingly not very annoyed with us with our inability to speak French, being extremely loud at late hours, or when asking them to order us pizza at 2 in the morning. The hotel provides umbrellas which is nice because it rained half the days I was in Paris. The hotel is also located next to the metro echo his convenient but if you would rather walk everywhere it's a little slow by foot traffic, about a half hour away from the notre dame and maybe a little more than an hour to the Eiffel Tower

Yelp
We stayed here recently on a long weekend in Paris after being placed here by Delta Vacations (we spent miles), and for the price, it was great. You should know that for better or worse, it is not a typical aged European hotel - it seems to be relatively new, and it's a very modern-style lobby that I would equate with a Courtyard hotel in the U.S. The rooms are not huge by any means, but they're also a little bigger than you might expect for a budget hotel in Paris. Ours had a bed alcove, room for a TV stand and a large writing desk, a small kitchenette "room", and a fairly large bathroom (again, by cheaper European standards). The staff speak many languages, there's free wired and wireless Internet, and there's an available continental breakfast (though at 12 or 14 Euro, I don't think it's worth it when there are plenty of cafes nearby). Maid service is optional and costs more, which was fine for us - we weren't staying long enough to require fresh linens, and not having to worry about when the maid wants to get in while you're on vacation is kind of freeing. The location is good - it's not terribly near to many classic tourist attractions (unless you count the Opera and the Bastille Place), but the Breguet Sabin metro stop is across the street, and Bastille (a short walk away) connects to even more lines. It's about a 20 minute stroll south to the river and the Latin Quarter, and Ile de la Cite, Notre Dame, etc, would be only another ten minutes or so. A short walk to the northwest is the charming market area of Enfants Rouges, and to the southwest is Les Rosiers - our favorite part of Paris and home to some of the world's best falafel, believe it or not - the Hotel de Ville, and, beyond that, Les Halles. Overall, if you're on a budget yet don't want a dingy closet of a room, I'd strongly recommend this place in Paris.
