This is a high end duplex studio with amazing views and plenty of space for a couple. And the fairly large balcony makes it special. It would have been even better if there would have been a nice settee on the balcony, and if smoking on the balcony would be allowed. After all, it is outdoors. Now it’s just a barren flat space, that seems to be intended only to hang one’s laundry, or as I did, park one’s bicycle. Also, the “no guests after 22:30” feels a bit too patronising/moralistic. No loud noises after 22:30 would be more appropriate. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Location is perfect for academia, but perhaps a bit too far from everything for the average tourist. Especially since the area very much is a daytime economy. In the evening the area is largely dead, except for nearby Timbre. All in all. Very good value for money.

My wife and I recently spent eight nights here. This is our second visit and perhaps our last. It really depends on the type of room you get. The first time, we were almost entirely satisfied; this time, we had an apartment with a harbor view. Unfortunately, we were a little unlucky. We had a noisy neighbor, which made sleeping impossible until well after midnight on the weekend. We also had a constant battle with cockroaches. We made housekeeping aware of this; they came into the room, wiped up each cockroach, and disappeared again without checking for more or using spray. The reception is, overall, very friendly and accommodating, especially a young Malaysian man. The young ladies are also helpful and friendly, except for an Indian woman who, in my opinion, had chosen the wrong profession. She was extremely unfriendly and quite arrogant. One morning, around 8:00 a.m., I wanted to go to the gym, and there were no towels left. I then went down to reception to ask for towels. This Indian woman was on duty that morning. She then rudely told me that I would have to wait until 9:00 a.m. for towels, even though there were two people at reception. I then told her that I could expect to find hygiene materials when I entered the gym in the morning, especially since customers were encouraged to use them. I then went back to the gym, and a short while later, a young lady came over and very kindly brought me fresh towels with a friendly good morning greeting. We passed this Indian woman a few more times at reception, and she always had this condescending impression. No greeting, nothing.

This hotel is by far the worst I’ve stayed at in Singapore. From the moment I checked in, the problems began. The room had a strong musty smell, clearly indicating mold growth. The pillows reeked of an unpleasant oily odor, and the water pressure in the shower was so weak that it was impossible to take a proper shower. On the second day, despite placing the "Do Not Disturb" sign on my door, the staff still entered my room, which was incredibly frustrating. When I left the room, I left the air conditioning on to try to reduce the mold smell. Upon returning, I found that the staff had turned off the air conditioning but had not bothered to tidy up the bed or clean the room. This was completely illogical and unacceptable. For a hotel at this price point, the level of service and the condition of the room are absolutely unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Good value for money, large, modern studios with amazing views. Lovely and supportive staff, including the night time security guard who helped me out beyond the call of duty.

I don’t recommend staying there. It’s very old now, the room layout is not convenient and overall it was a poor experience. Especially for the price which is quite high. Poor service (nobody available at night for check in, a number to call that was engaged for 20 mins…) no bedside table lamp is provided, I asked for one and they gave me a toy that doesn’t light up anything. Breakfast is a fridge and a coffee machine at the entrance. Poor experience

Nice apartment style rooms. Location is good too as its right on top of MRT Station. There is a small tiny outdoor gym but no swimming pool. The place gets really quiet over the weekends, but you can see hustle and bustle during the weekdays since its surrounded by office buildings.

Fairly expensive since there is no breakfast included. |Service apartments so no restaurant. |Not daily housekeeping. |Great location - subway station beneath the building. Also lots of restaurants and supermarket but they open quite late in the morning. |Easy to get Grab or taxi. |Near National University of Singapore.

I stayed at this hotel as I was working nearby but unfortunately left early as the standard of the hotel was poor. Although the views of the balcony room were good, the standard of cleaning and quality of the place left a lot to be desired. I left on Day 2 as the room was so so dusty, I was up the whole night sneezing. Reception doesn’t open till 8.30, so instead of facing another night stuck here with no sleep, I organised another place to stay. When I finally spoke to reception to check out early, they asked why I didn’t mention it to them, but my point was that the place was worse than when I first arrived despite the cleaners having been in that day! |It strikes me that this hotel has suffered post covid? It’s in a strange location with very little open on the weekends. The bathrooms are very tired and dated but the biggest issue was definitely the overall cleanliness. Moving to the Shangri-La was a breath of fresh air - literally! |Unless you are desperate to be near your office, there are much better places to stay in Singapore. If you are looking for budget - Hilton Garden Inn, Serangoon Road is a similar price point but of significantly higher standard, despite being a budget hotel.
