Wrap up 2024 in style with Ascott Star Rewards - SilverKris

"Located in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, this serviced apartment provides the flexibility of apartment-style stays while putting guests within reach of the city's thriving arts and food scenes; in summer it serves as a convenient base for day trips to Mornington Peninsula rock pools (Sorrento Back Beach and Blairgowrie, about 90 minutes by car) and for visiting cultural highlights such as the National Gallery of Victoria." - SilverKris

The hotel is in such a great location. Lots of restaurants nearby and a tram stop right in front. The front desk staff were super nice. The room was quite spacious compared to other hotels in the same price range. It also had a small kitchen area where you can cook. Overall, I was really impressed and would definitely stay here again if I come back to Melbourne.

I recently stayed at Citadines, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, providing a cozy atmosphere for relaxation. The location was convenient, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. However, the only downside was that the air conditioning didn't work properly, which made it a bit uncomfortable during the warmer parts of the day. Despite this issue, the friendly staff and nice amenities made our stay enjoyable. I would recommend Citadines for a comfortable stay, but I hope they address the AC issue.

My family and I enjoyed our recent stay at Citadines on Burke Melbourne. The standout positives were:1. Staff Service: Check-in was excellent. The staff were warm, professional, and very helpful, setting a welcoming tone immediately.2. Room Size: Plenty of room for luggage and for everyone to move around without feeling cramped.3. Bathroom Amenities: The provided toiletries were nice quality and appreciated.Items for improvements:The spaciousness makes this hotel ideal for families. However, to make them truly perfect for families like ours, I'd suggest the management consider offering some room options with two queen-size beds to enhance comfort and sleep quality for parents and children sharing the room.Despite this suggestion, we had a very comfortable and pleasant stay thanks to the great service, ample space, and good facilities. We would definitely consider staying again.

The hotel was in a really good central location and the staff were absolutely exceptional. They were extremely polite and helpful, stored my expensive equipment in a safe room away from general luggage during the day and were happy for me to work from their lobby for a few hours in the afternoon. The hotel itself has a great little pool and gym complex that isn't flash but gets the job done and is well maintained. The rooms are large and comfortable! Would stay again.

The location of this hotel is excellent, right in the centre, the room was a really good size and was well equipped as we had a small kitchen area too. The decor is much as you would expect of this style of hotel, nothing offensive, nothing to set it apart. The room was clean and it was quiet. The view of a block wall from our floor to ceiling windows wasn't exactly uplifting but it certainly gave us some privacy. There were some disappointments though. Nowadays you need a QR code to scan in order to access & learn of all the hotel facilities. This irritating habit of providing the code via a fridge magnet seems prevalent across Australia and of course ours was missing. We were there two days before we found out what the hotel had to offer. Irritants like a blocked vanity sink and a double duvet folded over on a single bed were quickly remedied but the lighting was atrocious. It was far too muted making it difficult to read any of the labels on the TV remote or the microwave for example. My main complaint however is the misleading instructions for evacuation in the event of an emergency. There is a plan of the hotel floor on the back of the door showing you exactly where your room is located (red dot) and then all the emergency exits on your floor. According to the plan there are four emergency exits on floor nine and our nearest exit is directly opposite our room. NOT SO. Directly opposite our room is a brick wall. Not everyone familarises themselves with emergency procedures until the time comes when you need them. In the event of emergency when people are already feeling stressed or panicky it is not safe to guide people to nonexistent emergency exits. There are only two exits on floor nine - they are well signposted & well lit but in the event of a fire / smoke situation they could be harder to see. This is a major health and safety breach in my opinion

Room is big bit it is strange to have the vanity with sink outside of the bathroom. And there is no table top to put your stuff in the bathroom. Towel rack is above the toilet bowl, which I though was unhygienic. Front desk was very helpful, friendly and warm. They would go all out to service you. Kudos to the team who manned the front desk throughout my stay. Location is convenient. There is a tram station right in front of the hotel, which makes travelling easy.

Great location, close to transport with a tram at the entrance. Rooms facilities were great. Rooms were quiet and beds comfy. Daniel at reception was exceptional, very competent, friendly and helpful, never had such brilliant service from reception at any other motel in my life, he goes over and above to assist. Will stay whenever im in Melbourne again for sure.

Yelp
The first thing to mention about Citadines is that it is located in one of the best spots in Melbourne CBD. Bourke Street is central and close to many restaurants and shopping districts. Transport is easily accessible with a tram stop located just out the front to take advantage of the City free CBD zone. Citadines staff are very friendly and helpful. I felt at home and all enquiries where dealt with a professional manner. The front lobby area is fitted out with lounges, TV and some Mac desktops. The apartment room I stayed in was very comfortable. Great size, with a bedroom, bathroom, separate toilet, lounge area and kitchen. This was a lot bigger than I expected. There was a great view from the windows. I think the only fault I can pick is that the windows did not open. However, there was an air conditioner that I used to help freshen up the room. Bathroom: was clean and there were plenty of extra towels, soap, hair dryer, shower cap and tissues to use. The soap, shampoo and conditioner were really lovely and smelt if citrus. Kitchen: was full of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. The fridge was a great size if you are planning a long stay. Also available was a hot plate and dishwasher. It felt like my kitchen at home! Bedroom: was clean and comfortable. Good mattress and extra linen, blanket, pillow available. A phone, alarm clock, iron, ironing board and safe were available to use. There was a television was set up in the bedroom which was great after a hard day of work. Lounge: fitted out with a television, couch, coffee table and study desk. For those travelling to Melbourne CBD for work this is ideal. When I return to Melbourne again I will book here again.

Yelp
This is my favourite high quality serviced apartments in this side of the city. We've stayed here a few times and it's always a relaxed and seamless experience at every check-in. The rooms are clean, including the modern bathrooms and toilets. The beds are comfortable with medium support and abundant good quality sheets. Other facilities are also above average and the wifi is always strong and reliable. Lifts are also efficient. The rooms where we've so far stayed in had gorgeous views of the city. There's also a convenient tram stop at the front. The lobby is spacious and welcoming, whilst at the same time not pretentious. There are Apple computers where you may also do your printing. Staff courtesy is prevalent and good service has always been available at Reception. I can't wait for the next check-in!

Yelp
I very recently stayed at Citadines on Bourke for 6 nights with my husband. We booked an Executive studio room which was up on level 22. Our overall experience was great. At the price we got this place for, i was certainly not expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised. Our room was spacious for a studio, and had a kitchenette at the entry way which was well stocked, a couch/coffee table, large screen tv, sound system with ipod dock, a moderate sized cupboard that had iron/ironing board (ok this cupboard could have been bigger), and an ensuite that had a very large shower. There was no bath, which we didnt really care about, and the bathroom sink was oddly located just outside the bathroom, but we didnt have any issue with this. The lobby area was large with very comfortable couch seating, free nespresso pod machines, apple imacs and printer available for guests to use. There was a pool on one of the lower floors but we didnt check this out - its melbourne! too cold for swimming! There was no washing machine/dryer in the room, but a communal launderette located on each floor works fine for guests. Great location as well with a short walk to Bourke st mall, flinders lane and a tram stop which goes to the very cool Smith St area in Collingwood/Fitzroy right at the door. The best part - free wifi that works really well in the rooms! I am totally sick of paying a ridiculous amount for wifi at larger hotels. Only niggly issue - they charged our credit card twice accidentally, but once we chucked a tiny tanty about it and got on the phone to said credit card company, this was immediately rectified and desk staff were very helpful and nice about it.

Yelp
Maybe I've been spoiled by The Meriton (both in Sydney and in Brisbane) but the Citadines really doesn't measure up. The deluxe studio was small with no coffee maker or press, no broom, no hooks on doors to hang things, no washer/dryer in the apartment, little storage/closet space. Really not a good place at all. The location is excellent - but the apartment itself was sorely lacking.
