The hotel was in a really good central location and the staff were absolutely exceptional. They were extremely polite and helpful, stored my expensive equipment in a safe room away from general luggage during the day and were happy for me to work from their lobby for a few hours in the afternoon. The hotel itself has a great little pool and gym complex that isn't flash but gets the job done and is well maintained. The rooms are large and comfortable! Would stay again.

The receptionist (a woman) didn’t do a good service and no clear communication at all. When I first went to the desk, I was told the room wasn’t ready, but it didn’t seem like she even checked properly. I thought I had already checked in and just needed to wait for the room. When I asked her to let me know when it was ready, she just said, “Can’t guarantee, but okay.” Later I realized I hadn’t actually been checked in yet, and she didn’t tell me I needed to come back and do the process again. I was expecting her to let me know and I just wait and wait and wait. While actually she never intend to inform me the room is ready or not. So disappointing service. There were no clear instructions, which was frustrating, especially since we were all tired after a long flight. If the room is ready early, it would be nice to just let guests check in, especially when guests clearly exhausted. On the bright side, Daniel helped me check in at the end, and he was great, friendly, understanding, and really made the process smooth. I wish the rest of the team could be more like Daniel. The room is quite spacious and clean. Just the window has no view.

I’ve had a really nice stay at Citadines. The Location is central to everything in the city. The Citadines check in team were lovely and welcoming and really helped me out. Fantastic price. Elevators are quick. Rooms have everything needed. As a light sleeper, my room was very quiet and soundproof to neighbours. Bed was comfy and the unit was clean. I would recommend and definitely return based on my positive experience. Thank you!!

A very nicely located serviced apartment in the middle of the city near Melbourne’s Chinatown. The city malls are a short walk away, casino is just over the Yarra river, can’t go wrong on location here. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped with a kitchenette. The laundry rooms well convenient with simple scan to operate and pay function using your smart phone. Staff are very friendly and approachable.

Room 1208 guest review – Stay from 22 July to 25 July 2025||Positives: |• The hotel staff were friendly. Daniel helped us get more coat hangers promptly. He also brought us a new smart TV and set it up so we could watch YouTube promptly. The shelf area next to the TV was handy. ||• The room layout was good. The sofa was comfortable. The room was spacious and spotless. I liked all the cooking/tea/coffee amenities. ||• The heater was excellent and warmed our room promptly. ||• The water pressure was good. The bathroom mirror area had great shelving space. The cupboard had good space. ||• The shampoo, conditioners and body lotion quality were excellent. ||• Although we could hear some construction noise, the hotel itself was tranquil. I listened to no one in adjoining rooms, which was great. ||• The gym had my favourite rowing machine, steppers, an exercise bike, weights, and various gym machines. It was a nice size. I would people-watch here. However, I would like to know if the windows were tinted and offered sunscreen protection. ||• The staff called us, and the cabs arrived quickly. ||• There was a nicely sized waiting room at the reception area with some chairs and sofas. ||• The hotel's location is excellent; we walked to Swanston Street quickly. I liked that there is a tram outside the hotel, which was convenient. ||Negatives: |• Some tissues would be nice in the gym area, not just towels. ||• The rowing machine needs servicing – I couldn't read the digits, such as calories, on the screen. I think you need a new battery. Some of the exercise machines sounded extra loud, which may require servicing. ||• More gym mats would be great. There were a lot of people in the gym; I saw only four mats.||• I think some sunscreen filtering curtains would be great in this area for privacy. ||• It would have been nice to have two bedside cabinets on each side of our bed. We only had one. ||• The bed was terrible. It was like sinking into an uneven mattress without any support. My partner and I had sore backs in the morning. |• The hotel pictures on our booking site showed a bed with cushions and a bed runner. When we arrived at the room, these items had already been removed. The sofa looked old. It could be replaced with something brighter and more modern. In sum, some bright cushions for the beds and sofa, along with a bed runner, would be a good addition. ||• Unfortunately, the waiting room area's sofa was quite low and hard to get up from. It could be replaced with modern and nicer-looking furniture.||• Although there are four lifts, they were pretty slow.

This was a nice place to stay while we were in the city overnight. |The room was clean and well set up with basic cooking equipment if we had wanted to cook. |Nice views over the city. |There was also a pool and a gym but we didn’t use those on this visit. |Worth a stay.

Yelp
The first thing to mention about Citadines is that it is located in one of the best spots in Melbourne CBD. Bourke Street is central and close to many restaurants and shopping districts. Transport is easily accessible with a tram stop located just out the front to take advantage of the City free CBD zone. Citadines staff are very friendly and helpful. I felt at home and all enquiries where dealt with a professional manner. The front lobby area is fitted out with lounges, TV and some Mac desktops. The apartment room I stayed in was very comfortable. Great size, with a bedroom, bathroom, separate toilet, lounge area and kitchen. This was a lot bigger than I expected. There was a great view from the windows. I think the only fault I can pick is that the windows did not open. However, there was an air conditioner that I used to help freshen up the room. Bathroom: was clean and there were plenty of extra towels, soap, hair dryer, shower cap and tissues to use. The soap, shampoo and conditioner were really lovely and smelt if citrus. Kitchen: was full of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. The fridge was a great size if you are planning a long stay. Also available was a hot plate and dishwasher. It felt like my kitchen at home! Bedroom: was clean and comfortable. Good mattress and extra linen, blanket, pillow available. A phone, alarm clock, iron, ironing board and safe were available to use. There was a television was set up in the bedroom which was great after a hard day of work. Lounge: fitted out with a television, couch, coffee table and study desk. For those travelling to Melbourne CBD for work this is ideal. When I return to Melbourne again I will book here again.

Yelp
This is my favourite high quality serviced apartments in this side of the city. We've stayed here a few times and it's always a relaxed and seamless experience at every check-in. The rooms are clean, including the modern bathrooms and toilets. The beds are comfortable with medium support and abundant good quality sheets. Other facilities are also above average and the wifi is always strong and reliable. Lifts are also efficient. The rooms where we've so far stayed in had gorgeous views of the city. There's also a convenient tram stop at the front. The lobby is spacious and welcoming, whilst at the same time not pretentious. There are Apple computers where you may also do your printing. Staff courtesy is prevalent and good service has always been available at Reception. I can't wait for the next check-in!

Yelp
I very recently stayed at Citadines on Bourke for 6 nights with my husband. We booked an Executive studio room which was up on level 22. Our overall experience was great. At the price we got this place for, i was certainly not expecting much, and was pleasantly surprised. Our room was spacious for a studio, and had a kitchenette at the entry way which was well stocked, a couch/coffee table, large screen tv, sound system with ipod dock, a moderate sized cupboard that had iron/ironing board (ok this cupboard could have been bigger), and an ensuite that had a very large shower. There was no bath, which we didnt really care about, and the bathroom sink was oddly located just outside the bathroom, but we didnt have any issue with this. The lobby area was large with very comfortable couch seating, free nespresso pod machines, apple imacs and printer available for guests to use. There was a pool on one of the lower floors but we didnt check this out - its melbourne! too cold for swimming! There was no washing machine/dryer in the room, but a communal launderette located on each floor works fine for guests. Great location as well with a short walk to Bourke st mall, flinders lane and a tram stop which goes to the very cool Smith St area in Collingwood/Fitzroy right at the door. The best part - free wifi that works really well in the rooms! I am totally sick of paying a ridiculous amount for wifi at larger hotels. Only niggly issue - they charged our credit card twice accidentally, but once we chucked a tiny tanty about it and got on the phone to said credit card company, this was immediately rectified and desk staff were very helpful and nice about it.

Yelp
Maybe I've been spoiled by The Meriton (both in Sydney and in Brisbane) but the Citadines really doesn't measure up. The deluxe studio was small with no coffee maker or press, no broom, no hooks on doors to hang things, no washer/dryer in the apartment, little storage/closet space. Really not a good place at all. The location is excellent - but the apartment itself was sorely lacking.
