Citânia de Santa Luzia Type: open air museum/ historical ruins Time spent: 15 min Price: 2 EUR Path for disabled: available Parking: small Bike parking: not available Transport: elevator of Santa Luzia+7 min walk Open air museum located over the historical ruins of the Iron(?) age. It was a small fortified city, typical for the Iberian peninsula. Its location (top of the mountain) helped the locals with the control the territory. Rounded houses were surrounded by primitive agriculture. Probably this Celtic city was destroyed by the Roman Empire.

Interesting! Iron Age/Roman village. Nice overhead walking ramp for great view with chance to actually roam at ground level.

It is for sure one of the most interesting and climatic placest in Vianado Castelo, as well as the oldest part of the city. The first monument's and proves of human presence on this lands was dated for III-VII centuries, dated for Iron Age. The entrance cost 1€, it is also on the top of the mountains, there is no much history tables or informations about the place itself, but it is for sure very interesting, being so close to the church, you should not hesistate to visit!

While it's a great place to visit and the entry fee is low (should it be free though?). There is absolutely not a hint of information of the settlements or anything else about them. Just imposing metal walkways that have been constructed that completely ruin the views. So a great site but terrible design by whoever converted this into a museum. The entry is from a container-like box on the East side.

Very small castro, no information panels and 2 € entry - wasn't really worth it... The castro at Santa Trega in the north is much bigger, has reconstructed huts and a lot more information about the history of the place.

Oustanding site, a time travel experience in the heart of Viana do Castelo's pre-roman history, next to the cathedral, and also a starting point to fabulous tracks to enjoy lots of beautiful natural milestones on the hill, coasting the shoreline moving north.

Was not able to understand much about the place... The majority of the buildings were round and that was interesting, but was not able to understand why. Would be helpful if we could find more information. Was fun to see the sheep :D

Paid 1€ (under 26) and usual price is 2€. Fair price for a little historical site. Nothing too special
