Despite the wind and the drop in temperature, my friend and I still went out for some craft beer. This spot is tucked away in a quiet residential area—but the beer was absolutely worth it! We had three rounds: started with an IPA and finished with a Stout. The one that left the biggest impression, though, was the second glass—a Gose, super tart and refreshing, just my kind of taste! Oh, and the dirty bacon fries were insanely good too!

Absolutely fantastic food! I had the Nashville chicken sandwich and a couple beers. The Hijacked IPA was very good. High IBUs but not “punch you in the teeth” hops. Well balanced with the alcohol content. Finished with the Wicklow Nitro Stout which was super creamy.

I'm in here currently, the craft beer is stellar, no sense hitting a franchise place when these craft brewery places are the 5 star places. A large range of crafted beer to select from, they even offered me some tasters and I got to pick my next really enjoyable beverage. I tried the only cider they had, in a wine glass size. It was a blackberry, strawberry whatever cider, it was the best I've had in years. I also tried a few others, I'm only hitting up the craft brewery places after today! They have an outside patio and 5 star customer service. This is probly my new go to place as they rotate the tap with craft beer depending on what's growing in the season. 5 star 🌟 Even seems very lgbqt2 friendly and very clean establishment. I've yet to try the food, prices are a little high but the so is the Qual of drink and service!.,.,..,

Main Highlight: The bartender—an individual wearing a black hat, with black hair and a mustache—was outstanding. He was extremely personable and highly skilled at his job. Even when he informed us that the mac and cheese was unavailable, he immediately took the initiative to explain the other specials in detail, ensuring we weren’t left without options. His service was a definite highlight of the evening. Overall Experience: Overall, the experience was positive, with one notable exception. Toward the end of the night, as staff began closing duties, a friend and I were asked to move to the bar shortly after we had already paid our bills. The timing felt rushed and somewhat unnecessary. Unfortunately, I do not recall the server’s name, but she was tall with short blonde hair. What ultimately left a poor impression were her remarks as we were leaving. The tone felt condescending, seemingly based on the assumption that we were intoxicated, which was not the case—I had only one beer over the course of three hours. This interaction significantly detracted from an otherwise enjoyable visit. That said, I would consider returning due to the many positive aspects of the establishment. However, this particular interaction was disappointing, and I would likely request a different server should I be seated in her section again.

After an unexpected day layover in Toronto, we finally arrived at the Calgary Airport only to find out that our luggage had been shipped to Edmonton instead. While waiting for our luggage, an airport employee recommended this spot while we waited for our luggage before heading to Banff. This place was truly a great spirit lifter! Amazing beer, fantastic poutine, and stylish merch. Employees were super friendly and the spot was just what we needed after a tough couple of days!

We dropped by on Sunday and loved that it wasn't super busy—just the right amount of people for a laid-back vibe. The patio is really nice, and it's dog-friendly too, which is a huge plus. The staff were friendly and welcoming. They've got some tasty food options if you're feeling hungry, along with a great selection of beers. All in all, it's a solid brewery with good food and drinks, perfect for spending a relaxed day in the neighborhood.

Great stop on our way to the airport. Huge patio, lots of seating and beer choices. The server was amazing and had such a great enthusiastic energy. Happy hour got busy which was great to see. Lots of locals and regulars which compliments its hospitality.

Great place! We enjoyed the beer, excellent variety. Had some snacks, the fries and pretzel were very tasty. Lots of room, and a very chill vibe. The gentleman who served us was very cool, and they even answered my question online about peanuts (none in the building)! If you haven't been, dress warm, it's nice and cool inside.

Wonderful brewery! Literally spent hours here during a trip layover and it was a comfortable and spacious environment with friendly staff and good music. Oh, and the beer is bomb! Special shoutout to Denver, you're a gem! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and being super attentive!

Great patio and fun atmosphere - our server was polite and food came out fast. Food was just okay, the kids mac n cheese was not very good. It was tasteless. My caesar salad was a good size portion (the large) but it was just lacking for me. The French fries though, incredible! I didn't drink, but my dad said the beer was "just okay". A nice stop but would try somewhere else next time!

The location is good. Haven't had a beer I don't like. I love that I can bring my dog! Could have better parking.

The only thing keeping Citizen from 5 stars was their Mac and cheese. This might sound strange, but one of the people in my party absolutely loves her Mac and cheese and she was pretty disappointed. However, the Birria sandwich (weekend special) was awesome. The meat was juicy and flavorful with hints of cinnamon. My son had the Katzu bowl, which was fresh and yummy and I had the fried hot dog...wow! A dog on a brioche bun with jalapeños and fried cheese on top. They had a great selection of their own beers and a couple guest taps. They also had canned cocktails and an NA beer. I enjoyed the Interstellar Nimbus, which is a hazy NEPA. Lightly hoppy with flavors of orange and guava, the brew included a nice taste of toasted bread; this beer was refreshing and delicious. I also had a saison that was not on the menu. Crisp, with that light farmhouse funk; you could pull out flavors of hay. I also asked for a taster of the Pioneer IPA (Origin Brewing) and they accidentally brought me a full pint (happy mistake). This beer was lightly bitter and had a great malty finish. When you visit, I know you'll enjoy the vibe with a quaint tasting room and a huge, pergola covered patio (with heat lamps), along with friendly and quick staff. Swing by for a pint and a bite!

First place we eat arriving to Calgary, this is a solid spot! The beers are great, the poutine is good for how little I know about Poutine. Mac n Cheese is creamy and the servers are super nice and friendly and more than willing to make recommendations. Can't ask for any better! Come try this place it's got a very fun after work vibe and I am here for it.

So good! Beer was tasty and literally one of the best burgers I've ever had. Our server seemed a little confused in general but it was fine. Cool outside seating. Dog friendly. Some parking.

Great little place with a good beer selection. The Porter was really good. Everyone was very impressed with the chicken - both the sandwiches and the pieces. Was a bit chilly on the patio in March - dress warm

This little place was a gem! What a cool environment and then add in a beautiful day, amazing food, and delicious beer and you have a recipe for a perfect little spot. I enjoyed every beer, and their burger was amazing. But as an American who has never had poutine, it was delicious. I get it now. I mean gravy is good 9n everything, it's just not something we do a lot. We fry everything lol. This was great, if I were back in Calgary, I would definitely eat here again.

First time to try Citizen Brewing and loved it. Great patio, friendly service, good food and beer. We ended up leaving with a growler full of beer, some Senorita Margarita Gose, a glass and a doggy bag. Will definitely be back soon!

Great beer and very friendly service!! Didn't get a chance to try their food but from what I saw being served it all looked very good. They have a great selection of brews so I started off with a few 5 oz pours. I tried their Royal Pine West Coast IPA, Hijacked IPA, and their seasonal Electric Fruit Punch IPA...I obviously really enjoy IPAs! Every one was absolutely delicious and refreshing. I ended up ordering a glass of the seasonal IPA and ended up taking two crowlers of it with me. The flavor was phenomenal and I'm always a sucker for small batch seasonal brews so it seemed like the perfect brew to take home. The staff were all super nice and provided a great experience! So glad I stumbled upon this place and can't wait to come back and try some of their food!!

It was all very good ! The food was excellent and well priced. The service was great as well with a very friendly atmosphere. I would highly recommend this fine establishment.

Came for a cold beer and brunch and was blown away by the ricotta stuffed french toast. I'm not really a breakfast person but I will definitely come back for that tasty french toast! Yummy saskatoon berry topping and hash browns completed the dish. My only complaint is the paper plates and plastic utensils but that didn't detract from the overall meal. AND my dog was also impressed with the mats they provide for the dogs to lie on and the never ending water bowl!

Yeah, I cried. I thought I was badass enough for the chicken sandwich, confidently walking up to the counter like, "gimme the hottest sammie you have". Turns out it was like the episodes of Hot Ones, where people eat spicy food and get all loopy. Anyways, good sandwich though. All around, I was a huge fan of this place. Plenty of outdoor picnic table-style seating, typical globe light decor, DECE board games (not just some Monopoly horseshit). The food menu is well-priced and there are enough options for your brewpub enjoyment. The staff are extremely accommodating and willing to explain the attributes of each beer. Even the guy running food was lovely. They're down with kids and there are high chairs available. Parking isn't exactly ideal, but the patio is full of dogs, so whatever, pet a golden retriever and move on with your life.

food and drinks were okay, service was a bit spotty and our table ended up getting forgotten. Ordered mussels and fries, tasted good but only came with 8 mussels.

Great beer, cool location, friendly staff and good food. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed. My friends said the burgers were great! I had the "Cubano" and it was pretty good. I also had the salt and pepper chips but there was way too much salt on the and I spent way too much time scraping the excess off; the chips themselves were really good. Busy place with lots of neighbourhood residents and workers walking in. The outdoor seating will be terrific in the summer!

Recently opened Citizen Brewery offers up their tasty in house brewed beer and a food truck parked out front for those looking for some tasty bites to go with their brew. The food truck prepares barbecue style food right in the truck with offerings like burgers, sandwiches, salads and more. Tucked in between industrial and residential, Citizen Brewery is accessible easily enough via Centre Street or Edmonton Trail. It's even near a bus depot for those needing some grub before or after a bus ride. We've admittedly been a few times and tried all the beer plus all the food. The mac and cheese is topped with Doritos tastes delicious. You can even add bacon. Burgers are juicy and we love that you start with your basic burger + toppings and add more if you want to build your burger even bigger. The Cubano and Kale Caesar Salad are also favourites. We are looking forward to the patio being open in the future and their new container kitchen which is currently in the works. We enjoy this brewery and foresee many adventures here in our future.

We went to check out fried chicken night ($3/piece) and were surprised at the quality of the food. The fried chicken was excellent. Crispy yet juicy, and the rub is similar to what you'd find in Nashville. Definitely will go back for it. We also had a pulled pork bahn mi which was fine. I think the issue is that pulled pork in general is a strong flavour, so you lose the tastiness of the vegetables. Wasn't bad, but would try something else next time. The beers are great as well. Lots of options for various tastes. We tried the blonde and the saison and both were tasty. Unfortunately the sour was tapped out so we'll have to try and get it another time.

This brewery is actually not even a block from my house. I wish that the beer was awful but it's anything but. The food was also amazing it simple but so good. Because of the proximity to my home I no longer need to worry about filling a growler up I can just walk down the hill every day! No no that will be a bad thing. But I will be able to try all of the seasonal beers and season2 was what I enjoyed last time and I had half of the Cubano with it don't know if that was a good pairing but I liked it. By the time I was ready to go I had made new friends sitting at the bar and had great conversations with the bartender and learnt a lot from him about the beers. Till next book club

Awesome beer. Awesome chow. Awesome service. Come try it out now! They make their own delicious dark beer (similar to Guinness) Really quite delicious. They have dried sausages for sale to snack on if you're there just for beer. I had their hamburgers. It came with pickles. Full disclosure: I hate pickles. But they were so early on in the pickling process - they were just super tasty cucumbers still.

Landed from YYZ leaving a snow storm in Toronto. With a great delight, not only was open on Monday night, it was trivia night!!! Considering the room was packed, the bartender provided awesome service! The food was AMAZING and the IPAs are great! A must try Calgary brewery!

Finally made it to the tap room with a group of friends this weekend. The place was busy... not only were all the tables filled but there was a steady stream of people coming in to fill up growlers and grab things to go. The first weekend of decent patio weather has Calgaryians ready to crack some beers. We started by sitting at the bar as there were no other seats so we could chat with the guy pouring everything, he was run off his feet but still very friendly. I selected the four beer flight for $7 to sample a few different beers, I let the guy behind the bar choose and I enjoyed all of his picks. We enjoyed the long tables once they opened up since it accommodated the 8 of us better. I didn't order any food but they do have a burger and some sides available if you get hungry.

This place is great for beers, hands down. The exception is their Beer Cheese Nachos. The beer cheddar cheese sauce is plain tasting and disgusting. The chef needs to rethink this sauce, totally ruins the rest of the appetizer which isn't bad without it. Also, their Tuesday Taco specials are alright but the tortilla fell apart when I tried to pick it up so I had to use a fork and knife. The chicken and avocado are delicious but the pico de gallo salsa is bland. The taco has no taste, not seasoned, no citrus flavor, just bland. Taco Bland Tuesday!

Good beer, good prices, good food. Loses a star because the glasses are too heavy and we had a couple snafus with our food. I ordered a cheeseburger but it came without cheese and there was mayo on the burger, which is not listed on the menu. Once cheese got added and the mayo scraped off (they might have given me a new burger but I said it wasn't necessary) I really enjoyed my food. We also got the chips which were tasty as well. The service was very friendly and I'd go back, but I encourage them to add that mayo comes on the burgers.

What a great place to drop in. I was flying late through Calgary, and noticed a brewery that was still serving hot food late. It was way better than expected. They have a good, diverse selection of beers on tap. The guy running the place, Mackenzie, let me try some malty pale ale that they haven't even released yet. Also, the fried chicken is crisp, super juicy, and full of flavor. It was busy, but not packed completely on a Friday night, which also gave the place a fun vibe when I showed up by myself. I can't think of anything that would make it a better brew pub.

Came here for lunch with the family. We ordered several dishes and shared them all. We had the burger - it was fabulous! I have to say it was the best burger I've had in a long time. I even loved the bun it was served on. We had the kale Caesar salad, which was full of bacon and croutons. We shared the andouille sausage hotdog. I'm not a fan of hotdogs normally, but I loved this one. It was spicy and flavourful, and again I liked the bun they used for. The soup of the day was beet borscht. As someone raised on baba's borscht I was a little unsure how good it would be. It was really good. Not exactly like baba's, but the nobody's is ; ) We also had the Mac & Cheese, which was rich and creamy and scrumptious. Lastly, the beer. I am not a huge beer drinker myself so I won't comment in much detail on them, but my husband totally enjoyed the flight of beer he ordered, and we each enjoyed the pints we got. I had the Batch 1 Session Ale. It was the least bitter so I appreciated that and it went well with all the food. I look forward to coming back here, especially for the burger!

I love these guys. My work crew and I come every Friday and they always have the best food, beers, (canned wine ;)) and are always super friendly. I always recommend this place to everyone I know!

Wicked good brews and great staff. What a cool spot, very nice patio with heaters for the cold and ample sunshine in the summer. Do yourself a favour and have the Citizen Burger with your beer - Crazy Good!

Maybe the best all around brewery experience in Calgary. The food menu is solid across the board, all of the beers are very drinkable, and the space is great.

Great little place the food a beer are awesome. I do however wish the keg cooler was colder, the beer temp was a little warmer than I would like. A definite must for a brewery to have cold beer on a hot day

Yummy nitro stout and burger with gluten free bun! I know beer has gluten however is quantity issue for some of us and for me beers okay but bread is not. This place has great music they even have yoga and beer on some Saturdays of the month. With a brewery in the back how could you go wrong! We recommend this place come check it out.

One of the best cheeseburgers in Calgary, Brad the chef also makes some wonderful soups. My son says their beers are very good, which I cannot review as I do not drink.

Beer was great. Service was not. Ordered a flight of beer and was asked if we wanted food. We asked if there was something light she suggested we order. Response-Oh no we aren't doing that. Use the QR code. Seriously? Bad customer service. Especially after the guys at Two Pillars raved about you.

Outdoor seating as well as inside - a light industrial location far from craziness of DT Calgary. Quite a neighborhood scene. I drink cider and theirs is local and is excellent. We ate some of the lighter fare. Cheese/Mac, Potato Salad. A bit bland for my taste but decent. Dog and kid friendly. Lots of free parking. Great staff. Brew vats right there for you to check out. Their beer menu looks good. Beer glasses not heavy enough though. No charge for mosquitos ‍ :)

I loved the beer, super friendly service! Their website is a little confusing, but a call cleared up my questions about pickup during COVID-19. I'll look forward to visiting again soon!

Been here a few times now. Solid craft brewery. Good selection of beer. The food truck grub was good the one time we tried it out. My only suggestion here would be to have a better layout. The till is right on the corner of the bar which is also the highest traffic area in the place. People getting growler fills are always in the way of patrons trying to come and go to their tables. Small complaint, but I don't think it would be hard to remedy either.

Great space and the location is ideal. This place is easy to get to and has a great patio for hanging out. The beer is good and the board games an added bonus. The food was pretty good for a brewery but I think they could add to their menu.

Awesome beer and great tap room! We stopped on a whim as it was on our way to the airport...then we almost missed our flight because we kept ordering more of their amazing beers! Thanks Citizen! They have a great selection and good variety of beers. The nitro IPA is the best I've tasted. Will definitely be back!

Great brews, solid non beer selection and the chef is bomb.com. Also Mackenzie was also awesome. Highly recommend.

Excellent beer and great pub fare. The Citizen Burger and Cubano are worth a try. Great atmosphere where you can go have a meal or a quick pint.

Good vibe. Drink beer, listen to good music and watch the beer being canned. Owners are wicked laid back.
