We loved everything about this hotel, it’s beautiful, with fantastic views overlooking the lake and city views, staff was terrific and so accommodating. It is very small boutique hotel and feels super cozy and private. Highly recommend!

We stayed here one night when our international flight arrived in Tana before departing for Andasibe the next day. Overall, it was fantastic! The room was very nice and the second floor views are unbeatable. The staff were kind, most spoke good english and all spoke immaculate french if they didn't speak english. The restaurant is fantastic! The owner, a french expat, had a friendly chat with us during breakfast and gave us two large bottles of water for free when we were checking out and preparing for the long drive to Andasibe. Highly recommend!

The accommodation had good comments, when we booked in internet, but for us it was even better than expected. The location is superb: in an upper part of the city overlooking lake Anosy, with all the Jacarandas around in bloom in November. We could enjoy it from the terrace of the restaurant, but also from the balcony of our suite.||All in all there are only 3 suites, but the place functions like a regular hotel. The main business as we saw must be the excellent restaurant attached to it, where we had all our three dinners (there is a separate entry for it at Tripadvisor). A simple, French style breakfast was served outdoors (in good weather): Croissants, Brioche, Jam, Butter, Fruit Juice and Eggs any way. The coffee was fine.||The suite was very aesthetical, as all the place. Enough storage space, good beds, a writing desk, sofa, balcony with table and chairs. A free bottle of water was offered. Mosquito net around the bed (but not needed).||With some electricity problems in town there is no A/C, just a ventilator on the desk, but we did not ned it anyway, nor a fridge, which was missing or shampoo/shower gel in the bathroom.

I stayed in many hotels in Madagascar. I liked this one the best. Only three rooms with great view. Lovely restaurant and good staff. They are very responsive to requests. Restaurant food is clean and yummy. The hotel and the general area lose electricity for about half the day/night which means no air conditioning. However they do have a generator that keeps the basics running. Come visit!

we went there as a big group of 24. the hotel per se is really nice with style. but the lighting is pretty dim. all the staffs are warm with nice smiles. they would explain the menu for us. they serve warm baguette. the olive paste is good. basically we have tried all the dishes on the entree and main. personally i love the carpaccio beef the most and the fried potato cubes (side). shame that they missed our dessert order. would like to go back to try their popular soufflé dessert next time ~!!

I spent 6 nights at Citizen Guest House for a business trip, and it was among the best hotel experiences I have had. The staff and management are extremely helpful and accommodating, and the food is top tier. The daily laundry service that was included was a great perk. The dining room provided a very pleasant setting for a workshop, which I was able to reserve during lunch hours. The rooms and restaurant are very reasonably priced given the quality of both, and I highly recommend staying here when in Antananarivo, whether for pleasure of business. This was better than any experience at a 4 or 5 start business hotel I've had in Africa.

This was one of 3 hotels we have stayed when in antananarivo and is seriously one of the Best. Very confortable room, plentiful breakfast (toast, croissant, pain au raisins, eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt , natural Juice and Hot drink), fast Wi-Fi and amazing restaurant which you can not miss. The staff were above and beyond to make our stay very confortable. Definately recommended.

We stayed here and ate. Perfect!.food is good. Drinks are absolutely worth it😉😉 Rooms are clean. Everything was wonderful. And the staff are friendly and welcoming. Good choice we made😉
