Citizen House Hotel (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"This private members' club and boutique hotel occupies three floors of a downtown tower, designed by Michaelis Boyd with electric blues, mismatched patterns, and rich textures. Sixteen apartment-style rooms function as residences rather than typical suites, with the largest spanning nearly 1,000 square feet with a freestanding tub, while Corner Suites capture skyline and National Memorial views through wraparound windows. Chef Miguel Acosta runs the kitchen, turning out seared regional proteins and refined small plates. The Living Room pours seasonal cocktails, and a speakeasy behind an unmarked door handles late-night drinks and karaoke. It is one of the few places in Oklahoma City where you'd actually want to stay in for the evening." - Tablet Hotels

Citizen House | Oklahoma City | Oklahoma | Smith Hotels

"Part private members’ club, part Midwestern pied-à-terre, Citizen House is a sleek three-floor secret tucked inside a 12-storey tower, where guests sleep like locals and lounge like Oklahoma City insiders. The rooms are apartment-style and artfully dressed to feel like long-term residences, the living spaces are abuzz with speakeasy charm, and the city skyline winks through every window." - Mr & Mrs Smith

The interior design at this boutique hotel is absolutely stunning—chef’s kiss🤌🏼! It’s an artistic and eclectic blend of mid-century modern luxury with European flair. It's warm, cozy, and timeless. Having stayed in 5-star luxury hotels and cruises around the world, this is some of the best design I’ve ever seen— and especially impressive in the heart of Oklahoma City. Our guestroom view overlooking the Memorial Gardens in the rain made it all the more perfect. Every detail feels thoughtful and smart, not just pretty—something many luxury boutique hotels struggle to get right. The hotel is part of a social club featuring a gorgeous restaurant, bar, lounges, a mini game room with a pool table, photobooth room, gym, and more. While we weren’t members, the staff treated us kindly and professionally. Exploring the space at night was nothing short of magical, and we regret not booking a table at the restaurant for dinner! A few notes: this isn’t a traditional hotel with daily room service or full restaurant hours. Free, delicious pastries were delivered to our room during our stay, and the in-room Nespresso machine softened the blow of missing typical hotel breakfasts. Valet isn’t 24/7, but parking is easy and convenient (though there’s a small charge for non-members). Overall, our stay was a 10/10—mainly for its design, thoughtful details, and the feeling of privacy and exclusivity. It was the perfect night away for me and my husband, making us both feel happy and pampered. Truly the crème de la crème of hidden gems in OKC. Highly recommended for luxury travelers and anyone looking for a stylish, private escape.

Had a wonderful stay at CH 12/2025 for two nights. Rooms are amazing, large and the most comfortable bed! Breakfast service was well orchestrated and nice to have the club for dinner one night and drinks with work friends the other night. In the middle of downtown was worried about the noise but my room was air tight! Can’t wait to return.

⭐️ 1 Star – Harassing, Discriminatory, and Unprofessional Experience This was one of the most uncomfortable and humiliating experiences I’ve ever had in a building that claims to be professional. Me and two other women came to do a brief photoshoot after being granted permission weeks in advance by a staff member, with clear instructions that we were allowed as long as there was nothing going on and we weren’t interrupting anyone. When we arrived, the doors were unlocked, a woman was at the front desk, and no one stopped or questioned us—so we proceeded respectfully. Shortly after we began, that same woman asked if we were members. We answered honestly and said no. The manager then came over very rudely, telling us we could not use the area because it was “members only.” We calmly explained the prior permission and asked for understanding. He then stated that we could use the lobby/public area, acknowledging he had no right to restrict that space. We went downstairs and tried to make the best of the situation. That’s when things escalated unnecessarily. The same woman followed us downstairs and aggressively asked, “How did y’all even get in here?” We explained the doors were unlocked. She then locked the doors behind us, went back upstairs, and continued to treat us like we didn’t belong there. We were only there for about 15–20 minutes total and decided to leave to avoid further issues. Unfortunately, one of the women accidentally left her phone behind. When she tried to retrieve it, that same woman refused to let her back in and called the police. To make matters worse, she then lied to the police, stating she didn’t know who we were and claimed she never even saw us—despite interacting with us multiple times. This made it seem as if we were trespassing, which was completely false. The entire situation felt targeted and discriminatory. As women of color, it was very clear we were treated differently, made to feel unwelcome, and viewed as suspicious from the moment they realized we weren’t members. The lack of professionalism, honesty, and basic human decency was shocking. I do not appreciate this type of service or behavior, and I would never recommend this buisness to anyone. No one should be made to feel unsafe, harassed, or criminalized for simply existing in a space—especially when they were given permission to be there.

I had a exceptional stay at the Citizen. Everything is brand new in this nice hotel. But what truly stands out is their service. Upon check-in, the staff took their time and gave me a 5-min tour of the hotel and showed me all the gorgeous paintings and art works. The staff really took pride of the hotel and knew about it inside out. Upon check-out, I noticed I left my USB cable in the room by accident. Once I called the hotel, the front desk staff along with the cleaning staff took their time to search for it and handed it back to me. It was truly a great experience because the staff members truly care about the guests. Kudos to the front desk and cleaning staff at the Citizen Hotel!

I had a fantastic stay at Citizen House! The atmosphere was welcoming from the moment I walked in — modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed. My room was spotless, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, making it easy to relax and get a good night's sleep. The little touches, like quality toiletries and cozy linens, really made a difference. Also, the location was super convenient for exploring the area. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great spot to explore downtown OKC!

Great restaurant and very nice upscale service. We enjoyed a quiet time of dinner with friends and family and we had a great taste of their wine selection.

Yelp
Pretty baller and swanky private social club with meeting/recreation rooms, dining facilities and other amenities if you join as a member. Right across the street from the OKC Memorial and adjacent to Chef JK as well. Check it out!
