CitizenM Copenhagen has an excellent location, right next to Tivoli Gardens, close to major landmarks, and very convenient if you’re arriving by train, as it’s near the central station.
The staff were friendly and polite throughout our stay, which we appreciated.
Unfortunately, our stay had several downsides. The room was extremely small for two people, which made it uncomfortable for more than a short stay. Future guests should also be aware that the hotel does not offer twin beds in any room category at all, which may be an issue for friends or colleagues traveling together.
As is becoming common, daily housekeeping is not automatic and must be requested. However, even when requested, the “cleaning” consisted only of receiving fresh towels. No actual cleaning was done — not even in the bathroom — and our sink was left dirty. Dirty bottles and used glasses were also never removed during our stay.
The room was also very cold throughout our stay. Even when setting the thermostat to the maximum of 24°C, the temperature never became comfortable.
Despite asking for a quiet room at check-in, we were woken up very early on our first morning (around 7:15 a.m.) by loud construction/repair work directly outside our window, including drilling. The hotel did compensate us with free breakfast, but only for that one day.
Additionally, the Chromecast never worked during our stay and was not fixed, despite us informing the staff about the issue.
Overall, while the location is excellent and the staff are friendly, the room size, lack of proper cleaning, noise issues, and unresolved technical problems significantly impacted our experience. Potential guests should be aware of these points before booking.
