The rooms at this hotel aren't big but they have just what you need and are extremely cozy. The location in the Bowery is pretty clutch. Bars and restaurant within moments of leaving the hotel. The rooftop bar at the hotel has amazing views and are a perfect starting point for your evening out with friends.

I stayed for three nights on a solo trip and had a great experience. The view of the WTC tower was lovely. The bed was incredibly comfortable, probably the best I’ve ever had at any hotel. The room was a bit small, so I’d recommend it more for solo travelers and short stays. Their rooftop is a great spot to hang out with friends and with the views of the NY skyline. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are work pods available, which is a nice touch, though the breakfast options could use some improvement.

Google
Smallest room I've ever stayed in (the bed was the entire width of the room) and the shower leaked terribly at the bottom, causing the toilet area to flood. Additionally, CitizenM is supposedly part of the Marriott family, but none of the staff was aware of how this might work and I received no nights/points/perks during my stay.||||The bed was comfortable and the room clean, but the window I slept up against let in lots of light (even with the blackout curtain all the way down) ensuring I woke up with the sun each morning.||||While the amenities and service were generally lacking, the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. For that, I'll gladly award an extra point.||||Overall, not worth the savings when Moxy is a couple blocks away and, despite the tiny rooms at Moxy, somehow manages to have more space than CitizenM.

The room was beautiful and cozy with an incredible view. This stay was for my anniversary, and the staff made our experience truly special. It is located in a great area with plenty of things to do and places to eat. Public transportation is very conveniently located. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for hotels in Manhattan, after a thorough search we decided on this location for our stay, and it far surpassed our expectations!

If you know what to expect this place is great. Look, the rooms are small, there's no getting around that. But to their credit, they are very well designed, clean, comfortable and quiet. Be aware that the toilet/shower room is borderline see through but they provide a curtain that can be pulled around it. The Aircon is good, the view was cool, the bed was really comfy, the shower was good, the location is fantastic. I enjoyed my stay. I'd stay again.

I've had a number of fine stays at the citizenM. Like other reviews said, you need to understand what you're getting before you stay. However, I have an incredibly bad taste in my mouth after a recent stay. I checked out and a couple hours later realized I had left a sentimental.necklace in the room. I called right away and was told no one had checked into the room yet but that the front desk was not able to get directly in touch with the housekeeping staff. Huh? How is that possible in a hotel? I was told my only option was to open a ticket, which I did. I called again later that night and was told they didn't have any new information. It took OVER A WEEK and many times calling for them to finally confirm to me that they did not have my necklace. How is it that hard to get in touch with housekeeping? Why can't I rely on the simple act of checking a room for a left behind item when I call immediately after checking out? The service level was so incredibly disappointing and off putting that I won't be staying there again.

My friend was staying here for the weekend visiting the city and we went back to her hotel room for a bit since we were in the area. The location really didn't feel safe - Chinatown is really cool and safe and just a few blocks away but this area had a lot of sketchy looking people hanging out outside. I don't think I'd feel safe walking around here after dark. What really surprised me though was the attitude of the staff. They seemed really hostile? resentful? of the people staying at the hotel (I assume spending hundreds of dollars a night to do so). One staff member girl with long hair basically glowered at us when we walked in the door. Another staff guy at the rooftop bar was basically totally ignoring customers aside from making sure they were guests, just leaning against the bar on his phone texting or something when we were waiting to order drinks. I saw a third staff guy basically yell at someone for walking by too close to him down in the lobby, like he was about to call the cops or some shit. Last I checked this was a nice hotel and not a homeless shelter or a rehab center so I don't know why you'd treat your guests like they're a total inconvenience or about to rob you or I don't know what. The hotel rooms were fine enough but I don't think I'd want to stay there with the way staff were treating people. It's a shame because I've had good experiences at citizenm's in other cities. Something about the management here must have serious problems. Anyways, I've told my friends not to stay here when they visit the city.

Google
Fantastic stay at citizenM New York Bowery! The hotel is modern, stylish, and perfectly located in Manhattan. The rooms may be compact, but they’re super functional and fully connected (everything controlled from a tablet). The rooftop has breathtaking city views, and the staff are welcoming, friendly, and always helpful. A true urban gem to enjoy New York in a trendy and vibrant atmosphere.

Yelp
I've stayed here twice now and both times I enjoyed my stay! The hotel is super cool - lots of great art, personality and very convenient. They try to make the check-in a bit of a hybrid between self check-in and a guided check-in for ease. In theory it's nice, but in reality it doesn't save that much more time. The rooms are really small, but in a cute way. They remind me of little capsule rooms, but because the beds are tucked up next to the window you're likely able to at least enjoy a view. I love how technology savvy the rooms are as well. The iPad next to the bed controls the TV, temps, blinds and even mood lighting. Very convenient. There are also traditionally switched as well to control the lights and blinds, so either way you're set. There is a cafe/restaurant downstairs that makes it easy to pick up coffee or breakfast and the massive lobby is great should you like to perch and work from there. There is also a great hotel bar on the roof as well! The only thing to be mindful of is that sometimes there is some activity taking place right outside of the hotel that may make some folks a little uncomfortable. But overall, I've never had any problems with that, so don't necessarily allow that to be a deterrent. Overall though, I really enjoy this hotel!

Yelp
Ok! So $300 for a Japanese style hotel that could very well be a hostel. Everything from check in is automated. Read this review if you want to know what it is to experience a Citizen M hotel: Citizen M is great for people who are tourists and are hopping cities/towns and are really in the area for two days! If you are carrying just a backpack then this hotel is for you. Citizen M is NOT for; They are not for people who want to be comfortable and need their space. People who need housekeeping. Who enjoy a nice cup of coffee and lounging in their hotel room with cup of coffee. Who enjoy long showers in hotel bathroom and love hotel rooms in general when travelling. Lastly not for people who have a lot of luggage. . . It was honestly a workout getting stuff out of my bags. My husband had to wrestle in that tiny space since to get in and out of our bags. . . It's a cute room for teenagers who are in love and don't mind small tiny rooms travelling the city. lol! But definitely not for mature couples who need their space.. lol!

Yelp
Stayed here for a night along with the location in Times Square. Both were excellent. Even though you can't beat the Times Square location, I loved that this hotel was bigger and had better views. They also have a two-story lobby where guests can sit, eat, watch TV, and view the art on the walls. I also think it is cool that they have a stairwell art museum you can walk through. Would recommend!

Yelp
First time at this location. Still relatively new. You have to make reservations for roof top access. It's understandable for size accommodations. The lobby staff was kind enough to grant access but please make reservations or ask staff for sign up help. They'll oblige professionally. The citizen is very artisty and definitely meant for a younger crowd for evening outings. But this place can be romantic for dates. The bar staff are nice and have limited drink selections unique to the hotel. There's also a small food menu. You can access menu via phone, no worries, there's WiFi available if needed. The views are spectacular, see most of Manhattan with comfortable lounge chairs. Dim evening lighting for an intimate experience. There's restrooms available adjacent to bar. The drinks are pricey but tasty. Looking for a date night or pre game before hitting a bigger venue, citizen m rooftop or lobby lounge is a vibe.

Yelp
It's an astonishing cool hip safe luxurious 24 hour spot amidst the best and worst of the Bowery. The rooms åre microscopic but brilliantly conceived. Perfect for 1 person. The rooftop views are stunning.

Yelp
DO NOT GET THE almost $30 breakfast buffet. The eggs were so overcooked they had that ammonia smell. Asked for new eggs and she brings me a bowl of eggs that were still runny wet and I had to microwave them to cook them out. When I brought up the issue they just said sorry and refused to refund the additional day that I had already prepaid so the next day had a very expensive bagel and lox and some cheese. Rooms are very small but very very comfy bed. TV is on a side wall so you have to lay on your side to watch tv or lay on the couch and stare up.

Yelp
This hotel is fantastic for so many reasons! 1. Modern art everywhere - love it 2. Price is so reasonable 3. Fabulous coffee shop with multi level seating and free wifi. Not just for hotel guests! It is also a coworking space for just $12/ month. Outlets at every seat. Delicious coffee and some food. Terrific service especially from Gianna who rules. 4. Rooms are small but so well designed! I love the way the bed fits directly into the wall with shelf space so you don't waste all this space in bedside tables. Sink separate from toilet for the win. Great decor. Fantastic blinds and lighting system that turns any color of the rainbow! 5. Great location 6. Epic rooftop bar

Yelp
It's a snug room, but they've made the most out of the small space they've got. Things I liked: The art The cleanliness of the lobby The iPad that allows you to control the lights, blinds, curtains, climate, etc The service at the front desk The proximity to the subway Things I didn't like: No garbage can? There's one in the bathroom that is made for ants. We filled it up in an hour. No one coming in to change the trash bag the four days we were there The tiny sink that will leave you spilling water everywhere The lack of outlets on the side of the bed closest to the wall

Yelp
Excellent stay!! Loved the location and as usual with a CitizenM excellent friendly welcoming. The 17th floor room was perfect with a fantastic view. Enjoyed the LL level and the various levels of seating arrangements. So enjoyed my 4 night stay that we extended it another four nights. Almost feels like home now!!! Had a few Amazon packages delivered without any problems. Excellent room service. Fantastic rooftop view and sitting area. Nearby found a delicious wrap place called WOLFNIGHTS open until midnight. I was so content between my cozy bed and my delicious various Wolfnights wraps. Couldn't ask for a better stay. A side note the gym was a bit small but who needs to exercise on a vacation!!!

Yelp
This is by far my favorite hotel when I'm visiting New York solo. It's in the perfect location, walking distance to all the best shopping in SoHo. When you walk in, you have to do self check in and it's debit/credit card only. There is staff nearby to help you when needed. The rooms are immaculate, small but perfect for a solo getaway. I always ask for the higher floors to get the best views of course. There's an iPad there to control the lights and tv, it also has your name on it which is very personable and a nice touch. I love that the lights change colors because you can set the tone for your night. The rooftop bar is PERFECT. It has a 360 view of manhattan and has the best views, it also has such a romantic feel which is perfect for a date night and some really good drinks! The downstairs bar is beautiful, it's a great place to do remote work as there's so much sitting. The food here is actually pretty descent as well. ALL of the bartenders are my favorite because they are so nice! Last but not least, the art work. Whoever designed this place did AMAZING with the art work. On the iPad it tells you where the art work is throughout the hotel and tells you the history of the art and artist. I will always recommend this place and give it a 10/10.

Yelp
They didn't have to but they comped the room after an email. We will give it a try in the future. The CitizenM overall is a great group of Hotels with great management apparently. Thx.

Yelp
My partner stayed at the citizenM before and raved about it so we decided to stay here for one night as I was on a business trip. There were some complications with the rooms in the beginning, but Dantella helped resolve it as quickly as possible. The customer service from all the staff and especially Dantella was top notch. Room size was perfect for the two of us since we were walking around the neighborhood most of the time. Controlling everything from our app and iPad was so fun! Coming from the Silicon Valley, I always appreciate Hi-tech. I definitely see myself staying here again and their other locations across the globe.

Yelp
Location 5 stars: right next to subway exit, walking distance to many restaurants and bars, 24 hours convenience store near by, 10 minutes walking to Chinatown. Hotel facilities 4 stars: gym but no pool, nice lobby area, very very nice view at the rooftop bar. Room 2 stars: typical big city hotel, very tiny room, no typical bathroom (the vanity and sink is outside and there's small cubicle for toilet and shower. The main reason I rate 2 stars for the room is because their pillows are super uncomfortable, way way way to high. Hotel smell and air quality 1 star: the air freshener that hotel use makes me headache also the hotel ac flitter makes me allergy, the entire stay I can't breathe normal, but I'm totally fine once I got out of the hotel. Service 1 star: for their price, I Will expect someone will be at front desk to help people to check in and out, instead of self service.

Yelp
*This rating is NOT based on hotel stay* This citizenM location has been my FAVORITE place to work remote! The decor is unmatched, the wifi never gives up on you, there are clean restrooms and everyone here is very respectful. There are plenty of seating options for solo works as well as small to medium sizes groups. There is a full bar and I believe sells food as well. Definitely a fun place to hang out if you are a digital nomad!

Yelp
A nice cool place with a coffee shop in the lower level of the hotel is great to read a book, mingle, and surf the internet during a rainy NYC afternoon. There are plenty of plugs/outlets to charge your phone and laptop and the time just passes by. They have a decent alcoholic bar as well. The seating layout is rather interesting, with top to bottom seating. Overall, a nice little place to hangout. BATHROOM REVIEW: Very clean, with private bathrooms. Toilet was in working order as well as the sink. Sit or squat? Sit!

Yelp
GOT KICKED OUT BY RACIST STAFF MEMBER. I (Black women) went to the hotel to study in there downstairs sitting area which is known as a PUBLIC SITTING AREA and is known for allowing non guests to study in this area. The Asian female bar tender at the bar on Sunday Nov.10th at about 1:30pm told me and my friend (Indian women) that we couldn't stay unless we bought a membership. We went to ask the lady at the front desk who was extremely nice if we were allowed to stay because everyone else in the sitting area wasn't guest. The front desk lady told us we can absolutely stay and when we went back downstairs to study the bar tender was so mad and called the front desk lady extremely angry and said she didn't want us down their for no apparent reason. We didn't cause any scene or even have a chance to sit down before she confronted us to pay an absurd price to sit. The only difference I could see between us and the other guest is that everyone else was Caucasian.

Yelp
Came to the cafe on the main floor and it is really bright and colorful. The decor is so cute. Their pastries are pretty good. They also sell coffee. Grab a seat and rest before heading to Chinatown for the long walk.

Yelp
I have no issues with the hotel itself. I've stayed here before: the rooms are small but clean and the hotel is nice. I booked via Amex to stay here again this week but when i arrived at the hotel after a long evening flight, they informed me that the hotel had overbooked rooms and there was no room available for me. They then proceeded to try and find an alternate hotel for me in the area. They sent me to Hotel Indigo with a letter and mentioned that everything had already been paid for and taken care of, and I just needed to present the letter to the front desk. Fast forward to my arrival at hotel Indigo, and the on-site front desk staff had no idea what I was even talking about. The only way to get a hotel room at this point was to pay for a new hotel room at the indigo hotel and hope CitizenM will reimburse me. What an absolute scam - they could have called me to inform me of the overbooking and handled the issue very differently . I travel multiple times a month and have never had this experience at another hotel, yet they were trying to convince me that this is industry standard. Absolutely not. Take your money elsewhere.

Yelp
One of my favorite rooftop bar in the lower east side. The views are amazing where you get to see the whole nyc skyline. The bathroom also has a view with a red tinted windows. The staff and service was great and there is a great selection of drinks on the menu!
google avatar

Chin T.

Yelp
We tried pastries within the hotel. Staffs are friendly. There's easy check in and out kiosks located in the lobby, there's also someone there to assist you.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing experience! I had an extended work trip here and am staying in the hotel for just under 3 weeks - it's been amazing so far and is by far the best value for dollar out of many NYC hotels .
google avatar

Yelp
Good stuff at the coffee bar but they have weird hours and the staff seem to be all over the place so the service is very slow
google avatar

Yelp
I love trendy, boutique hotels so citizenM is definitely my vibe. Can't beat the Bowery location. Just walking in there is a vibrant energy to this hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful, though my guess is that they are currently way understaffed, as no one was allowed to check in early, even though guest rooms were ready. They will hold your luggage though. Check in/out on the front desk computers. You also get a coupon for a free drink. I forgot to go to the rooftop bar, but used it in the coffee shop, which is funky and does a good cappuccino. The hotel is modern and artistic. Rooms are compact and tech-driven, as you can control everything (TV, blinds, etc.) from the app or the in-room iPad. Everything was clean. I love that you can change the lighting, because who doesn't want to take a purple shower? They have nice smelling body wash. Bed was comfy. I'd definitely stay here again and I'll be looking for other citizenM hotels to visit.

Yelp
Great ambiance and service. The rooftop bar is also solid. I love the decor and branding.

Yelp
"The hotel that changed hotels..." can we change them back? Cuz the change was for the worse... The mood of the staff is more "hostile" than "hospitality". They let a crew of young influencers take photos in the lobby, stairs, and canteen for 30 min with a heavy duty flash that bounced off the giant glass windows creating a strobe effect. The flash was being reflected from window to window and it could easily cause a seizure. That's not just annoying but a danger and a liability. If you're going to permit that in your hotel, you better get people to sign a waiver with a photosensitivity clause. Those influencers weren't even staying at the hotel. I had a headache by their fourth "scene" so I mentioned to the staff that this was a seizure risk. She looked at me like, "ugh, okay Karen". And initially did nothing, just said they'd be leaving. If advocating for my health makes me a Karen, I'll wear that name tag. If not for that, the canteen would have been an excellent workstation. The front desk was often unstaffed. The hostess upstairs was nice and helpful but the bar staff was short and cold. The bar guy downstairs was kind but neglectful. And the cafe people were probably scrolling through Craigslist looking for other jobs cuz I think they'd rather be anywhere than serving coffee at CitizenM. Food: There is not a single dish on the upstairs menu that is gluten-free. This is NYC (I live here), what gives? Crown fried chicken even looking out for that allergy. On the canteen menu you can have nachos and French fries. Full stop. Amenities: I couldn't get the tv to work and neither the bot, nor the chat agent could help me and the staff...Oy! Rooms are exceptionally small even for Manhattan but the layout is efficient. They are less wasteful than many hotels. Unless you wanna look at jersey and the World Trade Center- sleep east.
google avatar

J. S.

Yelp
Giving a one-star for a nightmare room charge experience because they used my credit card to also pay for someone else's room. Even though Citizen M acknowledged the mistake, they said that issuing a refund would be "too complicated," and I needed to dispute it with my credit card company instead. To process the claim as fraud I had to cancel my card, which then meant I had to reset all my automatic billing accounts ... Three months later and I'm still being bounced back and forth with my CC company because the card was present for the transaction but not reported as lost. Anyway, the room was pretty cool.

Yelp
Check-in: extremely easy and seamless. You enter your info on the screens at the front desk. If you need help, there's always an employee there to assist. Room: clean and great for solo travelers or couples who travel light. The design of the rooms are utilized well, with under the bed drawers and safe and counter space. The bed was extremely comfortable, it was hard for me to want to leave it! I opted for a high level west side view and it didn't disappoint. The only issue I ran into with the room was I found a "new" towel with lipstick stains. I called the front desk and they apologized and sent someone up with brand new towels within 5 minutes! You can operate everything in the room with the iPad, which made it convenient to stay in bed and turn off all the lights or change the temp. Service: I didn't really take advantage of the canteen or rooftop bar during my 3 day stay, but whenever I had questions, the employees were nice and attentive. Elevators were nice, but it would be nice if they had a beeping noise when your key card scans successfully. Noise: I didn't have any issues with noises; obviously you'll get the street noise from cars and sirens. The only area that was really bustling was the front for apparent reasons. For the most part, I'd say people were respectful even in the canteen area. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here and will definitely come back to this hotel! The interior design is impeccable and makes it so much fun to walk around in (:

Yelp
Rooftop bar review - Came here with a friend who was in town. It was nice that there's a rooftop at the hotel so we decided to check out the rooftop. The views were gorgeous, you can see so much of the Manhattan skyline. The selection of drinks were okay, pretty standard. I got an aperol spritz. Drink was good, nothing too crazy and the furniture was really cute. We also asked for water which come from tap but for some reason this water tasted really bad for tap and was lukewarm, on a hot day I think some ice would've been nice. It's not a huge deal though since we came for the drinks anyway. The reason for the low star review though was on the service. I really wanted to catch up and enjoy a conversation with my friend but randomly while we were in the middle of chatting, the music volume got turned up really high to the point where we had to shout to each other to speak even though we sat across from one another- even then, we still couldn't hear each other! When the server came by, I asked him if it was possible to turn the music down a little bit. A simple "no that's not possible unfortunately" would suffice but what I got was a whole load of sass. He responds saying "Sorry I intentionally turned it up so I don't have to hear all y'all talking." I honestly was in shock because I didn't even know what to respond with. When we wanted to get our check, the same person then deliberately ignored us even though we raised our hand for a while AND he made eye contact with us several time when we had our hands raised but proceeded to continue ignoring us. While the ambiance is nice, the service really makes or breaks the experience and I have to say, this one was not up to standard at all - I hope my experience was an anomaly but be wary.

Yelp
Awesome hotel. Check in was seamless and staff were friendly. Rooms are comfortable and great for a single traveler, but I wouldn't recommend for more than one person as it would be very tight and hard to maneuver for more than one. Rooftop has beautiful views and the hotel is within walking distance of some delicious restaurants and bars. Will definitely be back for future work trips.

Yelp
Visiting my son who lives a few blocks from citizenM and enjoyed it thoroughly -- even though we may have been the oldest but coolest guests last weekend. Great location if you're doing the Lower East Side, China Town, Nolita thing. The room is like a stateroom on a ship with the fixtures and furniture designed to take the least possible space. The view is everything in a very tight room. In return the public spaces -- lobby, lower lobby/hangout, bar, and coffee bar are beautiful and very hip. Everything from check-in to checkout used an app your can download in advance. The cit gets extra points for four elevators. I can tell you how much time I've wasted waiting for elevators. More points for excellent light over the sink. Makes shaving easy. Why only four stars? The staff is lovely but citizenM is understaffed. Housekeeping is slammed. It may be they can't find workers as Covid winds down. Or maybe the app is supposed to replace the workers.

Yelp
My girlfriend is a huge fan of Citizen M hotels as she had a prior experience in Paris and loved it. We chose this place to stay due to the awesome location and the modern environment. Upon arriving, we noticed many issues related to service and quality of the rooms. Room/Service - 1/5 - The rooms were cozy (as expected). The cooling and heating system in our room/lobby was not great and lacked ventilation. We called the front desk to complain but nothing was done about it. All lights and technology was controlled by an iPad. We were unable to schedule a room cleaning on the iPad as it was a locked option. We were unable to chromecrast our shows in our down time which was another feature on the iPad that was not working. On our last morning, our water was turned off and we were not notified. Upon it being turned back on, it was shooting brown water. We called many times to address the issue and were given answers such as "keep the water running for 5-10 minutes. It should be okay" or "Come to the lobby and well give you a free water bottle to brush your teeth with." Excuse me?! I was livid due to the lack of regard this hotel had without offering any kind of compensation. I called back a 5th time and they sent an engineer and a manager to our room. The engineer turned our water on and said "This wont hurt you." At that point I lost my shit and demanded some kind of compensation for our troubles. The manager ended up giving us one night free but did not offer it until he saw how upset we were. Overall this might have been one of the worst experiences in my life solely based on the lack of consideration this hotel had for us. I understand that things happen in big building and it can take a while to be fixed, but the lack of regard/concern was not expected. I shouldn't have to demand service any place I go. I hope this review helps you to reconsider staying here.

Yelp
Great! Stayed and worked from my room and was easily able to walk to soho within 5 mins. Great location Lovely vibe, great rooms, top floors are worth it for views! Comfy beds Gorgeous upstairs bar Fun downstairs are though gets crowded Only complaints: Elevators, the room key cards are faulty so most guests are fighting to get to their floor because the elevator will be called then go the opposite way and skip floors/not light up Ventilation, so hot at night in winter even, kept cranking heat to low barely any circulation. Nowhere to put trash, tiny cans in the room, sometimes i got food from outside and had nowhere to dispose Cocktails not great in bars, stick to wines or beers with generous pours Too techy with the room ipad controls, cool but can be glitchy

Yelp
Absolutely ADORED my stay here. One of the best views of the city and the location is perfect if you're interested in navigating the SoHo/LES neighborhoods. I found the service to be truly great and the complimentary cocktail didn't hurt. I first stayed at a citizenM in Paris and was hoping to emulate my experience there, goal accomplished.

Yelp
Let me start by saying the staff was amazing and took COVID 19 precautions serious. They enforced mask, social distancing, and were constantly cleaning areas that guest touched or used. As for my stay. My room was everything! It was clean, chic and the view was awesome. The bed was comfortable and allowed for a good night's rest. Breakfast options were limited due to COVID but I was pleased with the full breakfast that was provided. The check in/out process was a smooth and the staff went above and beyond. I already plan on returning!

Yelp
I have stayed here 4 times already and will be coming back for my fifth time in April. I absolutely love this hotel! The room is small and intimate, so it's perfect for my boyfriend and me when I come to visit him. The location is great, it's close to delicious eateries and close to different train lines. I love how its location in Soho has a lively atmosphere but is not overpacked at all. The view from the room's oversized window provides a gorgeous view throughout all the seasons. And last but not least, the hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly and always available to help! *Disclaimer: Pre-covid photos within review. Staff follows covid guidelines accordingly.

Yelp
Outstanding!!! A+ Trevor & staff really go out of their way to welcome their guests. I asked for brunch recommendations and a few walkable cute cafes and they were very happy to help make suggestions. Unfortunately Yelp can't be as relied on as pre-covid times. Check in was so smooth and effortless. My room was ready clean and sanitized. I didn't need to ask for anything except to extend to a later check out because we were are having such a great time and really enjoyed lounging around. The view was aMAzing ! I got to watch the snow fall with a backdrop of NYC. Since the common areas were all closed due to covid limitations the café had offerings from entrées, full bar, to croissants and coffee as well. citizenM was very adapted in allowing us to bring up anything from the restaurant and café to our rooms too enjoy. Covid restrictions prohibit indoor eating or drinking in New York. Let me go back to my room. Wow The extra large king bed was wall-to-wall, it sat right in front of a window view of the city. Can I say best sleep ever!! I appreciated the automated room controls from temperature to lighting, music, and moods. TV and Free movies , music , blinds all are controlled via iPad. The shower had a rain head and a hand held sprayer with great pressure shower gel and shampoo were available. There is a small refrigerator, some closet space, a desk and chair, bench and a huge under bed drawer to fit 2 rolling sized carry-ons and our personal items like a backpack and extra items. I can't wait to try all of them! Hopefully each location can be as #fenty ! XoXo Gosh you can tell I enjoyed this stay !

Yelp
The rooms are small, but efficient. 99 dollar base price, then perks are extra. It's an extra nearly 40 dollar fee for higher floors with an nice view and nearly an extra 40 dollars for late checkout. I added both of those things and it came up to 190 dollars for one night. The views are great. The rooftop bar has phenomenal 180 degree views of the city, including the Empire State Building. The bar staff are super nice. The beds are comfortable, the iPad setup is hip and fun. I love the colorful light up shower. Expansive common spaces surrounded by pop and modern art. The Bowery/lower east side neighborhood is full of street art and punk music, and it's fun just to leave your hotel and explore by foot. Close to attractions in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Also minutes walk from Chinatown and Little Italy. And this hotel is also home to the Museum of Street Art, a love letter from the artists of 5 Pointz. You'll never find anything like this anywhere else. For the price, this is an amazing value. I plan to stay again.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this artsy, boutique hotel. My fiancée surprised me with a nice weekend staycation, and couldn't get enough of this place! The staff were ever so helpful, courteous, friendly and accommodating! Now, for those of you that have families, or plan on vacationing with a multitude of people, I strongly suggest you call ahead of time to see if they have units with multiple bedroom, as our room was definitely designed/built for couples only. It was very comfortable, (we slept like babies), very chic, well-maintained, but size-wise it was definitely not made for 3+ people. As for the amenities, it was amazing! The lounge area was the best! TV, large comfy sofas and lounge seats, plenty of room to do work on your laptop, a full bar (sadly, due to Covid, we couldn't lounge in the bar area like it was intended), an amazing outdoor patio and really, really awesome artsy decor throughout! It's definitely going to be a go to spot for us as we plan many a staycation in the greatest city in the world!

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at citizenM hotel! I came here on a week night in search of a quiet place to work and relax at, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The room comes with a single iPad which acts as the remote for everything- the TV, blinds, lights (shower lights change color), temperature, etc. The amenity spaces at the hotel were also A++ I especially loved the work lounge and the cafe there serves great food and coffee for affordable prices. The rooftop bar and lounge offers the best views of downtown Manhattan, and is perfect for a romantic evening.

Yelp
The view, the bar, and the disco panther I love this rooftop and the rooms at the hotel are such a fun design. They rarely allow walk ins so I would definitely recommend making a reservation in advance.

Yelp
Really enjoyed our stay at citizenM New York Bowery. Hotel staff were exceptional. Professional and courteous. The room was small, true, but the view from our 17th floor window was large! The room was sparkling clean, the king-sized bed overlooking the city was comfy. We were there for The City-- not to spend time in a room.

Yelp
Loved the design and ambiance of this hotel. The design choices and aesthetic of our room was one of the most unique experiences I've had. I was also impressed with the integration of an iPad to adjust the blinds and lighting in our room. Check-in/check-out experience was smooth. We ordered pizza and a drink downstairs in the lounge area since room service was not offered at the time (not sure if this is permanent or not). Food was decent and I have no complaints with the service. A few issues we ran into involved the design of the bathroom which offers little to no privacy in terms of sound. When we checked into our room, we also noticed that our toilet was flushing nonstop. This occurred a second time, and we eventually had to call a staff member to help us fix the toilet. Essentially button to flush occasionally gets stuck and keeps flushing, which is just poor design. There's also quite a prevalence of homeless people in front of the hotel. While this wasn't an issue for us, it's definitely unavoidable. Overall, I enjoyed my time here! I wouldn't mind coming back and checking out the rooftop bar in the future.

Yelp
I've been to this hotel twice for staycations and I really love it here! First time I spent 2 nights and the 2nd time was 3 nights for my birthday. The customer service is amazing, the hotel is clean, and the rooftop is beautiful on summer days!

Yelp
I cannot think of a more ideal hotel for a young solo traveler like myself. Hip, modern, clean, and in the best possible location. The rooftop bar is one of the best in the Manhattan, too. I lived in the city for six years, up until a few months ago, and this was my first time in a while staying in a hotel here -- but I know I'll be coming back to this spot for as long as it remains open.

Yelp
Incredible spot to have a quick drink and marvel at all the seemingly unrelated pieces of art on the wall. 10/10 will be coming back.

Yelp
Bumpy check in, went to the bar to wait for it to get straightened out. That's when I met Danti (I'm so sorry if I'm getting that wrong). I explained my daughter I were unsure what to do with our evening, it was like Danti made it her mission for us to have fun and a great stay. She whipped out her phone, said "I got you" and came up with some great recommendations of things for us to do close by. We saw her several times during our short stay, each time she clearly went out of her way to make our Stay better. Will be back! Thank you!

Yelp
The staff was great, the hotel was clean (they even check for vaccines), and the room had a surprising amount of storage despite it's small size. I only have a few small complaints: 1) dripping noise throughout the night, made it hard to sleep fully. 2) the bathroom has no privacy, whatsoever. The walls are made of glass and has no exhaust fan, so all sounds and smells make it's way to the bed just a few feet away. Lack of exhaust also means the towels were damp the entire time. Other than that, I really don't have complaints. The room is definitely not made for friends traveling together or families, but if you're traveling solo or with your SO, I'd recommend it!

Yelp
Probably the best view out of any hotel I stayed in NYC over the past 10 years!! Hands down. Unfortunately, it's beautiful views could NOT match the core of what hospitality actually is. Front desk seemed half awake, dare not ask for extra towels as the guy who delivers has zero energy. Guess it's cool to not show hospitality at this place. The AC blows air out so poorly you could hold a candle up to the vent. Unreal. Don't let the store bought wanna be street art fool ya, this place needs help. I really hope for the best cause there is a lot of potential. Maybe focus less on your image and more on the actual soul of the place? It's more honest that way.

Yelp
The address is 189 Bowery. They really need to include their address on all emails and correspondence. It is a new hotel and half of the cab drivers that we encountered did not know where it was and we could not tell them. Even the navigator was unsure. The room was like an IKEA room and small. The location was nice and the bar on the roof was great.
