Stayed here because my usual hotel (Sheraton) was fully booked, final night of a 30 day trip in Asia. Even though I was given late checkout, they do not honor all Marriott titanium benefits. No free breakfast for titanium members, and the ntd$350 per day voucher was a joke. I arrived super late close to midnight for 1 night stay and by the time I want to use it in the morning they said it can't be honored on day of checkout. The room was as advertised: Booked a tiny small room, get a tiny small room. Width of the room = length of the bed. Perfectly adequate for short stay. Location, while it is a 2 minute drive TO the taipei main station, it's closer to 10 minutes FROM. It took forever on the taxi because of the poor road layout in that area of Taipei. One positive aspect of location is, hotel is located 5 min walk from a bunch of 24 hour beef noodle soup restaurants. The rate for my room also dropped after my booking and that was also super annoying, felt like I was buying 黃牛票, mark it way up, but if cannot sell, drop the price down. Staff was all polite and friendly, on par for a typical hotel in Asia. However there was a huge earthquake during my stay, and the staff seemed confused as to what to do, didn't tell guests whether they need to evacuate or whether it was safe to re enter. Either way, for a business to get satisfied customers, they need to find a way to go above and beyond, giving more then is offered and not find a way to cut here and there. That's a great way to get lost in an ocean of mediocrity.

Flawless check in/out. The room is clean and just spacious enough for couple. View is superb and the bed is comfortable. Close to mrt beimen station and taipei airport line. Coffee shop nearby but a bit of a walk to the nearest convenience store (but its a themed 7/11!). Also a 10-15min walk to ximending district. I just hope they have more basic amenities inside the room just like dental kit, cotton buds and shower cap. Otherwise, still great and we had a lovely stay.

I really love love this hotel for so many reasons. First, I booked for a room without window but got upgraded to a room with window which I am so grateful for. I did enjoy looking out. The rooms were so clean and comfortable. I could stay in the room whole day. Location of the hotel was perfect. Ximending and Taipei main station are all walking distance and nearest MRT is Beimen. The reception was also really helpful. I arrived at 7am - way too early to check in but reception allowed me to use the living room area to rest which I used that and the restroom to freshen up which I am so grateful for.

This hotel does not meet typical Marriott standards — it feels more like a 3-star hotel, and the value for money is disappointing. The design aims to be modern and creative, but practicality is lacking. The reception area uses self check-in/check-out computers, yet the space is very limited, making it easy for congestion to occur. The room is compact, which is fine as it was advertised that way. However, there isn’t even a kettle or basic coffee/tea setup, and the benefits for Marriott members are extremely minimal. On the positive side, the location is convenient, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Still, for a similar price range, there are many better hotel options available in Taipei.

(Disclaimer: My reviews are independent and I do not receive concessions from the establishments) I was skeptical at first but this establishment surprised me from start. Located at the corner of a very busy intersection but very quiet. The room is extremely small but if you are in it just for the evening then is totally adequate. There are only basic amenities but the room was clean with good flow line. Check-in was easy and the staff was very helpful. Second floor bar/cafe was relaxing and spacious. Great location with walking distance to Ximenting shopping/food district. Taipei Main Terminal is also just down the road for high speed rail. Great value place for family too.

Hotel location is 10 minute walking distance to Ximen MRT and Beimen MRT, 15 minute walking distance to Taipei Main Station. The modern interior design is visually appealing. The second floor lounge is comfortable and the lounge staff are friendly and attentive. The lobby functional space needs improvement; the walking space is too narrow to allow guests with luggage to easily get to and from the hotel entrance and elevators.||Although the large windows of the guest rooms boast a great view of the city, the room functionality leaves much to be desired. Lighting, blinds, curtains, HVAC, and housekeeping requests are controlled by an iPad. The iPad is outdated, and software used to control of mentioned functions of the room can be buggy, at best. Whenever I brought the iPad from idle mode, it always took at least 20 to 30 seconds to boot up before allowing me to turn on lights, open blinds, adjust room temperature, turn on the TV, etc. It was very annoying when the TV volume adjustment was unresponsive or lagged behind the iPad controls. If you make the effort to implement digital enhancements, they should work well. Otherwise, they are just a burden to the guest.||For all of the digital enhancements and controls of the room, ironically, there is no toilet bidet. Previous to this hotel, I stayed in a cheaper hotel nearer to Taipei Main Station, and it had a toilet bidet.||The breakfast buffet had a decent spread. Unfortunately, there was a lack of whole grain breads or cereals, and there was no green or Taiwanese tea. The only teas available were Western: English breakfast tea, Earl Grey, and a fruit tea. |My overall experience at this property was underwhelming. I think there are better properties with better value for the price point. It is not likely I will be returning to CitizenM.

Of the places that I stayed while visiting Taiwan, this was my least favorite. First, while the rooms were nice, they were not perfect. I thought the size was enough for a couple to stay in. However, the iPad that is used to control the lighting was very slow, and I was disappointed that the toilet did not have a bidet. Still, it was comfortable enough. This was the only place I stayed at in Taiwan that did not have any sort of complementary coffee, which was disappointing. They had a bar but the drinks were not impressive. The elevators were slow. We were on the 18th floor at it was a nightmare to get to our room sometimes. It was not a bad place to stay, but there are better options. If I ever go to Taipei again, I will stay somewhere else.

Experienced citizenM as a MB plt member: 1. Room is upgraded to a higher tier room without request. Self check in and staff is helpful in guiding. Special mention of Risma whom is friendly and welcoming 2. Welcome drink at 24 hr bar where the experience is topnotch. Had great interaction with Elva whom is a seasoned bartender despite her young age. Tried the North Gate Fizz and 18 days beers. Surprised to see that 18 days beers are available 3. Room is fully controllable with the iPad with option to change mood, it is like a W Lite. Techie would love it. 4. Space is well utilised hence it feels bigger than it is. Highly recommend even for demanding traveller. However, you might want to bring ear pluck if you are light sleeper as it is located next to the main road.
