Off-Centered Ale Trail: Orlando

"The Citrus Tower was built in 1956 on what was once pristine orange grove country on the unusually high, rolling hills of Clermont. The tower rises 226 feet above ground level, putting the total height above sea level at more than 500 feet. The chosen site stands in stark contrast to the rest of Florida’s otherwise flat landscape. Many of the hills of Clermont are more than 250 feet high and many have the red clay one might expect to find in neighboring Georgia. Built as a tribute to Florida’s citrus industry, the attraction was highly popular in its pre-Disney glory days, bringing hundreds of tourists to its observation deck every day to look out over the orange fields. The history of the Citrus Tower and its construction is illustrated in the lobby and gift shop. Photos taken in its heyday highlight its storied past. The tower is still open today and visitors can still ride the elevator to the top (aptly billed as “Ride to the Top”). From the windowed observation deck, downtown Orlando’s skyline (26 miles away) and iconic structures such as Walt Disney World’s Space Mountain, the Contemporary Resort Hotel, and EPCOT’s SpaceShip Earth are all visible." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

An incredible hidden gem. It’s such a unique coffee shop as it is located in Florida citrus tower. I got the Orange Cream latte and it was one of the best coffees I’ve ever had. It wasn’t too sweet, even when mixing in the orange whipped cream, in fact it was a perfect balance. There was just enough orange flavor to not be overpowering as well. I would frequent this coffee shop if I lived closer. The coffee was 10/10

Outstanding white chocolate mocha today! Nicely appointed interior space on first floor to purchase beverage and light pastries. For a reasonable price you get to ride all the way up to 1955 and experience a taste of the Citrus Tower in its tourist heyday. Absolutely bring your beverage to the top, most enjoyable!

I stopped by Citrus Coffee Company during my visit to the Citrus Tower and I’m so glad I did. The shop is bright, welcoming, and full of charm and the drinks are anything but ordinary. I tried their signature Orange Crème Matcha Latte, which is perfect for citrus lovers, but my personal favorite was the custom vanilla matcha I ordered right after. Smooth, creamy, and just sweet enough. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location couldn’t be more convenient if you’re visiting the tower. Whether you’re local or just passing through Clermont, this is a great spot for a refreshing and unique coffee experience. Highly recommend!

Google
A true gem of a coffee shop! The shop has a relaxed vibe, the staff were very friendly and the tables were clean and comfortable to sit at. We are not coffee connoisseurs, so we had a few questions. The staff answered everything. We ordered the orange crème latte, it was delicious! We also got the orange hot chocolate. Honestly, the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had! We also got the orange cranberry muffin. It was freshly made, moist and delicious. The cranberries in it were actually tart and refreshing. We did venture up into the tower, that was a fun elevator ride along with some amazing views. Would return!

Super cool place, definitely check out the tower if you can! We got an orange cream coffee which was surprisingly good and went up in the tower for a great view of the surrounding orange tree forests. Lots of cool historic artifacts on display inside.

They'll get you with their cranberry orange muffin here. The perfect level of moisture and it's honestly a 10/10. Can't say that for any muffin really. My go to order is the regular latte which is mild and smooth yet it delivers the punch you need and I would like to see their orange latte have more of an orange-vanilla taste without being overpoweringly sweet. They have a good selection of items here and even some bubble tea. I would like to see them offer some additional bakery items to compliment the muffins in the future. They also have a nice selection of comfortable furniture for you to post up and do your work or gather around with others so it's a nice alternative to the other coffee chains around.

Super cute little place to stop and have coffee. Free WiFi and lots of historical information. Can take elevator up to get a nice view. Lots of souvenirs and comfy seating.

Google
Love the vibe of this place and it is a wonderful location for coffee with friends. They have plenty of tables with table games and ample seating. The iced coffee I got was delicious, they have a citrus twist on many common drinks. I gave it a 4 because the selection was fairly low and with only one employee it took a while to wait for the others in line to order, pay & get their coffee because they do pour overs. I will be back.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of trying new coffee shops, especially when they have something more to offer than just coffee! Every time I'm in the area, I drive past the citrus tower, and I finally decided it was time to try it out! Upon arrival all of the parking is off the side and the entrance to the coffee shop is the front of the building. When we went in, we were immediately greeted and decided to look around. So we check out their little goods and things for sale and then pondered the menu! I decided for a salted Carmel latte, as this is what I order the most and can compare to other coffees! It was good, very sweet, but still a good amount of coffee in it too! Then my friend ordered an orange latte (as it was recommended and how could you not)! I would say this one left something to be desired because it wasn't very orange.. Overall it was a cute little coffee shop and had plenty of seating to hangout or meet up with someone! Now to talk about the main event, the citrus tower! It's not free to go up, it's $11 a person! You also pay at the coffee bar (something I had to ask when I got there). However, a few tips for the wise: buy on Groupon! We were recommended to and it saved us $4! In addition if you're first responder or a teacher you also get a dollar offer when buying tickets (if you don't buy on Groupon) so that'll save you $2 for 2 people! It's not something that you'll do often, and it gets you up the tower all day! Once you're up there it is a pretty small area but it's nice to sit and watch the views or eat a lunch! (You are allowed outside food)! I do say plan ahead because if there lightening in the area, you are not allowed to go up!

Yelp
A perfectly placed coffee shop within the Citrus Tower in Clermont, FL. We came for the holiday lights and waited and had some coffee and banana bread. Everyone was super nice and friendly. As soon as the time came closer to show time, more people stopped by for coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. It was a great stop with comfy seating.

Yelp
A bit disappointed in this place. I love trying new coffee shops, it's basically a hobby at this point. When you walk into this shop, it looks very open, plenty of seats, a miscellaneous things to buy if interested and a decent amount of drinks to choose from. It's esthetically very nice. The ladies were both nice and they were able to answer my questions. I got a caramel apple chai latte and an earl grey latte. The caramel chai was soooo good taste wise but was lukewarm at best and the lady who made this drink left more than an inch of space, so I felt like I was cheated out of part of my drink. Which was so disappointing for me!! The earl grey, I was informed it would take about 5 minutes bc they had to steep the tea first and I know this being an avid earl grey latte drinker. I was fine waiting. When it was done, it felt significantly hotter and heavier meaning it had more liquid than the other latte, see attached photo of the two. But aside from that, the tea latte tasted like water and steamed milk minus the tea. I was soooooo disappointed. Basically it needed to be left in to steep longer. I drank the semi warm drink and tossed the tea latte. Other than both of my drinks not being 100% enjoyable, when I ordered my drinks, I asked if they had for here cups. They told me no originally then she said do you mean a glass cup (there were glass cups behind them) and one lady looked at the other, the other made this look and so the said "we don't have any right now." Which I took that as they did, but they didn't want to have to wash the cup afterwards. Why waste products? Overall, not really happy with my experience.

Yelp
Great little coffee shop underneath the Citrus Tower! The coffee is brewed perfectly and the chocolate muffin, taste like a brownie, so good! The young lady behind the counter, so so nice and very helpful and helping pick the right cup!!! Definitely will be back!!!

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for a while and so glad I finally made it! Located in the base of the Citrus Tower, Citrus Coffee is bright and welcoming. The moment I walked in I was greeted by the barista who commended me for ordering the Snickerdoodle Latte, (which flavors are phenomenal). The interior had holiday music playing for the Winter Season and had several different decorations for the Citrus Tower and the city of Clermont. Used the restroom while here and loved the vintage tile work that shows the history/ age of the building, can't wait to come back and try more on the menu!

Yelp
This citrus lovers dream spot! What else could you want but coffee and orange...um yes please. Their orange infused whipped cream is everything. Definitely a tasty treat with a caffeine kick.

Yelp
(7/20/2023) came to visit the Citrus Tower on a mini tour of Clermont with some out-of-town guests. It was a hot day, the coffee bar in the lobby was a welcome amenity. Staff were nice, it did take a little bit of time to make 2 teas, but they were cold and tasty.

Yelp
The coffee was very weak. It was like drinking tea. I specifically ask it was strong before I ordered it. I was very disappointed and will not return.

Yelp
I drove almost an hour to try this place. So worth it! Simple menu inspired by Florida citrus, with incredibly comfortable and aesthetically pleasing seating. You can even go up the tower to see miles in all directions! They also feature local artists. I wish I lived closer!

Yelp
Such a cute little place to be. It's great for large group meetings. Great for those who work remote and what a quiet place to tuck away and grind all day. Great for a small group play date w/coffee and friends. The drinks were delicious and the service was fantastic. The music was giving as well. Outdoor seating and indoor seating available. We are lucky to have this local gem in Clermont.
