⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great hostel! Friendly staff, clean rooms, and an awesome rooftop with city views. Perfect location near South Bank and public transport. Chill vibe, good bar, and a pool to relax. Ideal for meeting people. Highly recommend for backpackers !

Absolutely loved my stay at City Backpackers HQ! The manager was incredibly welcoming and the whole team went out of their way to make sure everyone felt at home. The rooftop view of Brisbane is stunning, especially at sunset. Shoutout to the café – easily the best coffee I’ve had at any hostel. Super clean, great vibe, and a perfect location. I’ll definitely be back!

I went into 2 showers and they both didn’t work properly with super low pressure and only room temperature to cold water with no place to put your toiletries and barely any room to take off and put on your clothes. The room has outlets but only 1 station between 2 beds. Worst ever hostel experience of my life! The pool is pretty small. No spa. Kitchen is small. Bathroom has only one tiny square mirror between multiple sinks and is also small. Place looks overall very old.

Had an amazing time at City Backpackers HQ! The rooftop views are stunning, and the vibe is super social – met so many great people here. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Location is unbeatable, just a short walk to Roma Street Station. Will definitely stay again!

Amazing stay at City Backpackers! Everything went super smoothly — the place is clean, lively, and full of great people. The atmosphere is awesome, with a good mix of social vibes and chill spaces. Staff and guests are super friendly, and it’s really easy to meet new people. Would definitely come back!

Great place to stay in Brisbane. Friendly staff and very welcoming. Amenities and rooms are always clean. Check in and out easy and quick. Atmosphere around the place is always happy and fun, creating a great vibe for the stay. Location is fantastic, only a quick walk to shops, restaurants and Suncorp stadium. Will be back for future stays.

I enjoyed my stay at City Backpackers HQ! The hostel runs daily events varying from game nights, trivia, exercise, and karaoke…as well as craft evenings! There is an onsite cafe that operates from 8am-2pm everyday and sells coffee, soft drinks, light snacks, and other beverages. The pool is enticing on a hot day and the housekeeping team maintain the grounds very well!

Out of the four shower stalls, two only had cold water. While I was shampooing with all my clothes off, the hot water completely stopped working, and I had to move — naked — to another stall with hot water in the freezing winter (and it was even a mixed-gender shower area). In this cold season, there was no reliable hot water, the water pressure was extremely low, which made showers take much longer, and the mirrors at the sinks were so small and cramped that they were almost useless. Out of all the backpacker hostels I’ve stayed at, this was by far the worst. In addition, during my recent stay, we used a twin room with bunk beds — my friend took the bottom bed and I took the top. Right after check-in, I found a lot of uncleaned hair on my bed. I still have two more nights left here, but I want to get as much of a refund as possible through Agoda. The shower facilities are an absolute disaster.

Had a great night in City Backpackers HQ pub The Fatt Wombat last Saturday. Staff were friendly and beer was cheap. Good combination! #Happydays
