Where to Stay in Stockholm (Updated 2025)

"I love this hostel — its mattresses and pillows are super cozy, it has a huge kitchen and tons of common space, plus a free sauna, free pasta, laundry facilities and many activities; it's very popular so book in advance." - Matthew Kepnes

The 7 Best Hostels in Australia (Updated 2025)

"I liked the central location right in the heart of Brisbane near the river, the main train/bus station, and downtown, and the city views from the massive rooftop terrace and rooftop pool are spectacular. The rooms are basic but have everything you need, there’s a guest kitchen for cooking, and an indoor cinema lounge for chilling out; overall it’s a fun, laid‑back, social spot that’s easy going." - Matthew Kepnes

I absolutely loved my stay here! The hostel is spotless, stylish, and has all the amenities you could need. There are plenty of inviting common areas, perfect for relaxing or meeting new people. The staff is always friendly and eager to help. In particular, Allison at the reception was extremely helpful and understanding of my needs. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it🫶🌟

The staff at this hostel were lovely and in terms of value for money it’s alright for quite an affordable hostel. However, the bathrooms didn’t have any hand soap in them for the 3 days that I stayed there and the kitchen was really dirty so I didn’t really want to cook in there. There were also quite a lot of long term stayers, which meant the rooms were quite messy with stuff everywhere. Location is really good though and the pool and outside areas are nice to relax.

This place wasn’t the worst hostel we’ve been to in Australia, but it wasn’t that far off to be completely honest… The staff were really nice and helpful, definitely dont have a bad word to say about them. It was nice to have bathroom towels in the room, and our room in general was fine. Whilst the room didnt have it’s own aircon control, it was a comfortable temperature. The location of the place is also pretty convenient if you want to get to Roma Street station or surrounding areas. However, I think we were abit unlucky with our room. We had some sort of generator outside our door. We thought it was a big washing machine or something when we arrived, but it continued constantly throughout our stay. There was also quite abit of noise from the bathroom which was opposite too. It felt like the majority of residents didnt respect the quiet hours of the hostel - there was loads of people shouting and running up and down the halls until way past midnight. By the end of the night, the kitchen was a bit of a dump and people definitely did not clean up after themselves. It did feel like there was quite a few people living at the hostel, which does affect the feeling of the place. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend it to people for a long period of time, but for a short stay it’s acceptable.

One of the worst places we stayed during our trip, and we definitely wouldn’t stay again. When booking, the hostel is described as a youth backpacker hostel and the booking conditions clearly state this under Check-In Requirements. In reality, the clientele was nothing like advertised. When we checked in, other guests checking in at the same time were most definitely 60+, which directly contradicted the hostel’s own “youth backpacker” positioning. The overall atmosphere felt like a mix of unfriendly locals and people who appeared to be homeless or long-term residents, rather than travellers. There were Uber Eats delivery bags everywhere, and kitchen cupboards were completely full to the brim with personal ingredients, making it clear this wasn’t a short-stay backpacker environment. The room itself was very poor. There were dead cockroaches in the room, which is unacceptable. The beds were only just about passable — you could clearly feel the bed frame through the mattress, making sleep uncomfortable. For the price you’re paying, the standards are seriously low. Overall, this hostel is a total catfish compared to its description and expectations. Would not recommend and would absolutely not stay again.

Location is pretty standard for most hostels. It's slightly farther outside of the downtown but closer to Southbank. The atmosphere is very social and welcoming with something for everyone. My only complaint is the kitchen, I turned away from cooking because it's like a zoo in there. But I quickly forgot about that, check in was smooth and Julia was supper welcoming, she was very patient with my endless question and greeted me by name when I got back at the end of the evening. Other hostels in Brisbane just don't compare.

Darryl was incredibly kind and welcoming. When I first checked in, he took the time to explain the room and bathroom facilities in detail, which really helped. Thanks to him, I had a very comfortable and satisfying stay.

Went there with my son to watch ACDC. The staff were super friendly, the rooms were spotless and we even managed to squeeze out car in the parking. Every night there is an activity, be it table tennis, board games, quiz, pool. It's a true collection of travellers from around the globe. We met some nice people here.

A very nice hostel. Many common areas, ideal when there are so many people walking around so as not to be crowded. We were in a private room so we didn't have much noise, ideal. The only thing that makes me remove a star is that the parking lot is very small (only 5/6 cars), which is not enough for so many guests.

Had a great night in City Backpackers HQ pub The Fatt Wombat last Saturday. Staff were friendly and beer was cheap. Good combination! #Happydays
