Beautiful space to relax and spend some time in admiring the native plants and many birds. You can walk down to the riverfront as well. It's a lovely, tranquil and well maintained park.

Nice area for a walk right next to CBD although it did feel more like a park as opposed to a botanical garden. Lots of areas were also under maintenance or blocked out for improvements during our visit. The walking area next to the river is nice and calming, and overall the park in general does give you a little bit of that separation from city bustle. Public toilets available though I didn't go in to check condition. Free access.

One of the reasons I always admire Australia and New Zealand: spaces like the City Botanic Gardens. So beautifully maintained and preserved, it’s hard to believe you’re still in the middle of the city. Walking through the lush greenery is incredibly peaceful, and there’s something genuinely refreshing about being surrounded by nature like this.

The best place to learn the local and exotic plants and within walking distance from anywhere in the city. You can spot quite a few birds eg stone curlew, noisy pitta, ibis on the palm trees, buff-banded rail etc. There is an excellent hibiscus garden and you can find hibiscus monet that arouses your impressionistic imagination. Come on Sunday where the Riverside market is held and you can buy a croissant and coffee and local fresh produce and arts and crafts.

Beautiful place to visit right in the city center of Brisbane. Wonderful place to have a relaxed walk in the afternoon. Highly recommend for the first-time visitors who stay in the downtown area. Another way to enjoy the park is riding electronic scooters if you don't feel like walking. We will definitely come again next time.

It was nice. I walked on the outskirts and then adventured in. Ten minutes later, I got lost in UQT. When I did get out, I lost interest. Seeing the building in the background of the botanical gardens is surreal. I'm a rural girl; that's not normal where I come from.

Queensland's oldest heritage park is located in the heart of the city, but it's also steeped in history. One side of the park is located along the banks of the Brisbane River, and you can take a leisurely stroll along the Bunya Walk for almost 1 km. If you're on an early morning walk and want breakfast, The Gardens Club is open from 7 a.m., seven days a week.

A botanic garden located in the middle of the city. It is also beside the QUT Campus area. It is very clean, and very wide, great for picnic. It is beautiful, but not as aesthetic as expected, but this is just an opinion and different people perceives it differently. Still, this is a great park to visit, as it also has a nice ambience.

Yelp
We just had a lovely time walking through the gardens. I love that cities devote land for people to enjoy. Full of trees and birds, this sanctuary lets you get away, even for a small while, away from the bustling city life. There was lots to explore. I honestly didn't even know how long were were in the park.

Yelp
This is just a short walk from our hotel, so I strolled around it twice yesterday's Once after lunch by myself and then again after dinner with my husband. It was much busier during the day, which surprised me somewhat. Beautiful foliage, beautiful birds, next to the river, lots of benches and places to take a break. It is well maintained. At night, the main paths were lit well, although the path right next to the river was very dark. If I lived in Brisbane, I would go here often just to relax, read, or enjoy the beauty. And it's completely free to enjoy!

Yelp
One of the tourist or locals must visit areas of Brisbane. You will experience a vast number of wildlife varieties and beautiful plants, flowers, and smells, all in the center of Brisbane. Walk there, or take a river catamaran or ferry to the far side and return to the central business area while experiencing the park's attributes.

Yelp
MY HOMETOWN ! The City Botanic Gardens is a 49 acre public park in the heart of the Brisbane CBD. It is to the people of Brisbane what Central Park is to New Yorkers. It has a huge frontage to the large Brisbane River where you will see recreational crafts, canoeists, paddle steamers ( restaurants ) cruising by constantly. I remember first hanging out here when my best friend was attending the adjacent university QUT in the early 70's. It was a popular place for rock bands to put on free concerts. In fact my younger brother was lucky enough to see the famous British band THIN LIZZY ( with the even more famous Gary Moore in the band ) put on a fabulous show in 1978. In the 80's I used to visit the park with my then wife and my young daughter who loved feeding the ducks in the pond. There was always something new to see, events of some sort going on. And the Riverside Sunday Market is fabulous with arts & crafts, live music and international food. On the weekends the crowds are huge...families enjoying picnic lunches all over the place. And of course it's a great spot to relax with a good book in your lunch hour. My wife and I visited it a few times when we lived in Brisbane from 2002 - 2006 before we moved to Southern California. GREAT MEMORIES !

Yelp
If you're in Brisbane's CBD and you feel like you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle then head to the city's botanical gardens. This amazing place is just paradise with it enchanting green gardens. The bamboo walkway is complete shaded by the impressive growth, and what really made it unique was that every, well almost every, bamboo had love hearts and names carved into them. It was also fascinating to see a marvellous stone drinking fountain which was installed during 1867 as the first ornamental drinking fountain in Queensland. You can feel really at peace and soak in some of the sun's rays while strolling to the beat of your own drum.

Yelp
Wedged between the CBD to the north and the brisbane river around its other sides, the city botanic gardens are a great oasis in the heart of the city. It's well maintained (as ozzie parks always are) and there are plenty of paths, trails and grassy areas. It also houses the old parliament building and the main campus of Queensland University of Technology, QUT. There's a kid's playground, many places to sit and admire different (flowering) plants.
