We accidentally walked into City Center Hotel thinking it was the hotel we had booked for our stay in Iceland, only to realize we had mixed it up with another property a 45 minute walk away. Despite not being actual guests, we were warmly greeted by Mel at the front desk, who went above and beyond to help us.
She was incredibly sweet, friendly, and full of great advice for getting around downtown Reykjavik. She even gave us excellent breakfast recommendations that helped us make the most of our morning. When we explained our situation and found out there wasn’t availability for our group of six, Mel kindly offered to call a cab for us and assist with the hiccup in our travel plans. Her helpfulness and compassion made a stressful moment so much easier to navigate.
Her kindness and professionalism left such a great impression on us that we’ve already decided we’ll be booking City Center Hotel for our next visit. If this is how they treat someone who isn’t staying there, we can only imagine how great the experience must be as an actual guest.
