City Cruises Vienna - DDSG Blue Danube

I was a little unsure about what to expect, but it was a great outing. The staff were fantastic, food and drinks delicious, and the boat nice and cosy. The trip was 74 minutes and gives a different perspective of the city. You see both sides of the river over the trip I would recommend it.

Lots of bad Google reviews associated with this place. We did the 3 hour tour which included the Danube. Lack of outdoor seating for sure. Outdoor seating benches which could fit 4 people were hogged by locals who seemed to need their space for backpacks. Maybe the Staff could do less Smoking and more Management of Outdoor Seating areas? Indoor seating was fine. If a bit chilly. The scenery was lackluster, but the Danube portion of trip was more enjoyable. Sat at a indoor Table for 30 min. waiting for a Server who only came after I went to the Bar to self order. Didn’t get food. Hardly anyone did. They must of read the Google reviews? Overall, not bad. But nowhere near as awesome as the short trips in other Countries such as Germany which really does these right with Tons of outdoor seating. Was it worth $72 for 2? Meh. Won’t be back. But it was OK. Enjoy the experience. We did that.

Nice ride, but the boat was full house and crowded, the open roof better than down closed area, but the weather must be good. If there were better quality boat we would take it. Seems a bit old I suggest if you could take other boat and other route.

Only if you have the Vienna Pass, because it's free! Above all, don't book in advance with prebooking sites! We had prebooked the long cruise for around 92 euros, but when we went to the departure point the day before (to check it, as it wasn't clear on the prebooking site), we noticed that seniors had a reduced rate: 72 euros. This wasn't listed on the booking website! So we canceled our reservation and bought it again at the reduced rate. As for the cruise: Well, it was boring and we were disappointed; it wouldn't even be worth half the price paid (which is why I mentioned the free cruise with City Pass before) . Unless you want to have lunch there, of course. Still, if you want to take a Danube cruise, I think the short excursion is good enough and cheaper. The thing is, you don't see as much of Vienna as we hoped and actually you see a lot of the Danube, which in itself is beautiful, but as I wrote, not exceptional at all nor stunning... relaxing, quiet, the same all the time, which is why 3-4 hours is way too long.

The cruise was nice, lasted about 90 minutes. You can mostly see the residence buildings on each side. The beverage and food prices are a bit expensive, but I guess it's worth it for the experience. We didn't have any food, but seeing from what other passengers ordered, the food looked nice and it arrived fairly quickly. The staff was pleasant and the cruiser was fairly clean. Edit: we also had a Vienna pass that allowed us to enter without having to pay for the tickets, just make sure you make a reservation on their website.

I should have read the reviews. A canal ride NOT on the Danube. Views of graffiti and abandoned buildings. If you can look past the over growth, you might see buildings. It is more of a sights of Vienna standing up with no seats on a slow boat ride. You'd think they can accommodate the number of people they book with seats, $77 of standing and not many sights is a waste of time and money.

The Danube River cruise was an unforgettable experience. The views along the river were stunning, with beautiful architecture, bridges, and city lights reflecting off the water.
