City Garden Bed & Breakfast

I didn’t get to stay because the proprietor double booked, without checking to see that I had responded to his offer. But I would have liked to stay:it was much nicer and less expensive than the two places I stayed instead. Book in advance and confirm, confirm, confirm.

What a lovely b&b! Great location and the room was really special with lots of light and wonderful plants. Breakfast was excellent and Gerry is a great host with lots of information. And he drove us to the train in the morning. |Highly recommended.

We spent some time at the City Garden B&B in three different occasions during our time in Alaska and staying there was always wonderful. The whole house is beautiful and very artsy, filled with interesting things such as sculptures, a super cool insect collection, paintings, etc. The rooms were comfortable and well lit. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Jerry was a fantastic host and cooked the best omelette I’ve ever had! He also gave us lots of good tips on how to get to Denali by taking a scenic route and activities to do in Anchorage. The B&B is walking distance to many restaurants, bike rentals, and bus routes, and it is a few blocks away from the costal trail. We hope to come back there soon 😁

Absolutely lovely BnB in a beautiful and peaceful area of Anchorage, walking distance from downtown. The rooms are spacious and bright and the house is tastefully furnished. On top of that, Jerry is a wonderful host - he even dropped us at the train station on the day we checked out. Highly recommended and we would go back on a next trip to Alaska!

The City Garden B&B is in a nice quiet location, walking distance to downtown Anchorage, right next to a nice city park, and the Coastal Trail. We enjoyed staying there four nights in two stays. Jerry makes incredible breakfasts and both he and the other guests we met there were all great to talk to and learn from.

The best place I've ever stayed at; we had such a wonderful time here. Wishing our stay here was longer. Jerry was the perfect host and really made our stay special. Loved our time there. The room was so comfortably and the design so impressive. Our next stay in Anchorage we will surely return here. Felt safe in the area which was important as well. Everything is beautiful It's a wonderful and peaceful place. The room and bathroom are clean, really comfortable. It's also an artistic room, filled with art, collections and plants. Breakfast was served by Vic, was so beautiful!! I enjoyed an omelette, sausages, bread, homemade jam, fruit, yogurt and hot drinks. Especially the omelette...was so delicious. I also enjoyed having conversation with him. Amazing hospitality. If I travel to Anchorage again, I definitely stay here. Nozomi

This was the perfect place to start our Alaska vacation. Three of us used the two bedrooms that shared a bath. Beautiful home decorated in great taste. Breakfast the next morning was amazing with frittata, coffee cake, fresh fruit, and more. Next time we will stay more nights!

5 star BNB, Jerry. Thanks for having us. Pretty quiet neighborhood. Great location we were able to walk downtown. We also were able to walk to near by grocery stores.

Great B&B with wonderful hosts! My friend and I stayed three nights in July 2016. We were in town for the Her Tern Half Marathon, and we couldn't have asked for a better location. The start line was literally right in front of the B&B! Super convenient! The B&B is also conveniently located to attractions in Downtown Anchorage. For example, it's only about a 20-25 minute walk to the Alaska Railroad Depot. The hosts really go out of their way to make you feel at home. Vic is super sweet, and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him. He offered to drive us to the Alaska Railroad Depot and even offered to drive us to the airport at 5:00 am on our day of departure. We really couldn't have asked for better hosts! The rooms are clean, and we found our room very spacious even though it was the smallest room. The shared bathroom was always clean and had all of the essentials - towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair dryer, etc. If I'm ever in the Anchorage area again, I will definitely stay here!

This place was amazing! Our room was very spacious and beautiful. There were nice plants in our room and all the amenities were great. The bathroom was also very spacious and modern. We loved everything about this place. Vic also cooked great breakfasts both mornings we stayed here. He is very sociable and really tried to help us have an amazing Alaskan experience by giving suggestions and advice. He even lent us some of his gear and sprays for our trip. He is an extremely gracious and amazing host. My fiancé and I really truly loved this place and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when we return to Anchorage!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at City Garden B&B. Vic was such a helpful and gracious host, providing good conversation, delicious breakfast, excellent travel suggestions, and even took us to the airport at the end of our stay. Our room was spacious and comfortable with an absolutely beautiful collection of plants. The B&B is very centrally located, close enough to downtown Anchorage so you can walk, but far enough that you're not next to shops and restaurants. We would stay here again!

We loved City Garden ... and our hosts! The accommodations were absolutely lovely, with our large upstairs bedroom more like a sun room, filled with plants overlooking a lovingly tended garden. The private bath was spacious. Breakfast was sumptuous, to say the least ... and Victor was so accommodating, not just recommending a restaurant for dinner our first night, but also driving us the short hop downtown to be sure we found our way. The next day he also helped make sure we visited the Cultural Heritage Center, which was a highlight of our introduction to Alaska. I highly recommend City Garden!

One of the best B&B I've ever stayed. Very centrally located, extremely clean and very modernly designed, reminds me of Scandinavian design. And the breakfast is freshly cooked right before us and consisted of omelette and quality fresh fruits, toasts, yogurt, and coffee/tea. Best breakfast from any B&B I've stayed in Anchorage. I've also stayed in Susitna Place and Arctic Fox, which are also very clean and comfortable, but the breakfast is not big on egg and I'm an egg person. We've also had a great talk with our host Vic, who cooked our breakfast. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who visit Anchorage.

We stayed here for two nights in Anchorage in mid June. This B&B is immaculate, well-decorated, and filled with plants including orchids and cacti. Our room was very large with Windows all around allowing for great views and sunlight. The bathroom was also large with two sinks and a large glass enclosed shower. The owner, Vic each morning made us a spectacular breakfast consisting of coffee, sausage, coffee cake, milk, an egg dish, fresh fruit, toast, and more. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He was as much of a treat as was staying in his accommodation. Vic provided us information on area attractions, directions, restaurants, as well as the history of Alaska and its culture. He was very happy to answer any questions we had. The b and b is located only a 15 minute walk from many restaurants downtown and directly across the street from a large public park. This place is a real gem.
