I had a wonderful stay at City Garden Grand Hotel in Manila. Everything was perfectly smooth, from check-in to check-out, the service was excellent and the staff were warm, professional, and attentive. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable with a lovely view of the city. A special thank you to Mr. Alvin John, the Assistant Front Office Manager, who was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout my stay. His professionalism and friendly attitude made a big difference and truly reflected the high standard of service at the hotel. The rooftop pool and restaurant were also highlights — great food, beautiful atmosphere, and stunning city views. Overall, I highly recommend City Garden Grand Hotel for anyone visiting Manila. It’s a place where you genuinely feel well taken care of.

We stayed at this hotel for four days. We chose it mainly for the swimming pool since the pool at our previous hotel was under construction and unavailable. Unfortunately, the pool here is quite small, and the swimming pool and restaurant share the same space, which makes the area very busy and not enjoyable, especially since the restaurant is open to outsiders. On the positive side, the room is spacious, and the lady who checked us in was kind enough to accommodate my request by giving us two queen beds instead of one king. A star goes to the housekeeping team as they were very generous with restocking the room and to the front door staff who were approachable and helpful. Minus stars for the front desk lady who acted as if I had stolen the weighing scale! I didn’t want to bother anyone to pick it up, so I went downstairs to return it myself. At checkout, she kept asking if I was sure I had returned it and said she had to confirm with the night shift staff if I actually did. She even asked me to wait. I told her she could check the security camera since she didn’t seem to believe me! It’s not my fault that their communication sucks, and it’s offensive to talk to me as if I’m a thief. Would she have acted the same if it were a foreigner? The hotel is located at a busy intersection, but there are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, which is a plus.

I stayed at this hotel during part of my trip to the Philippines, and while I truly enjoyed my time at the Makati Shangri-La, I found that the City Garden GRAND Hotel Makati was much more my vibe. Even though it’s a bit farther from the main malls, it’s surrounded by great local entertainment, restaurants, and nightlife—perfect for my tastes. I did experience one issue with surrounding construction noise, but the hotel staff handled it quickly and professionally, which I really appreciated. One of my favourite features is the rooftop bar and restaurant next to the pool—you honestly don’t have to leave the hotel to have a good night. The music plays until around 11 p.m., and guests often stay to enjoy drinks and food afterward. It’s truly a vibe in itself! I’m planning another visit soon and will definitely be booking with City Garden GRAND Hotel Makati again. Thank you for such a warm and memorable stay!

This wasn't our first stay at this attractively priced Makati hotel.||||It is on a busy street corner but taxis can pull up outside steps leading to the lobby.||||After check in there are three lifts but you will typically wait a few minutes.||||The bedroom had a good Queen or King bed with comfortable linen and pillows.||||The desk annoyingly had a chair that did not fit under it. ||||The suitcase shelf was handy.||||There were well lit bedside tables along with blackout curtains. The large two door wardrobe had a safety deposit box.||||The bathroom had a shower over bath with curtain, not as good as a walk-in shower. Hot water was OK.||||There was plenty of room to place a toiletries bag.||||Aircon and WiFi worked well.||||Breakfast on the 7th floor was fine. Yoghurt, pancakes, bacon and four types of juices including cucumber and watermelon were some of the items.||||Staff at reception were OK while the cafe staff were friendly.||||Overall a good hotel but better if rooms had walk-in showers.

It was a big hotel 32 floors with the top floor and open air restaurant and swimming pool with a fantastic view of the Makati Skyline. They had basic amenities shampoo and body wash but no conditioner or lotion. Hair dryer and an ironing board. I got upgraded to a King sized bed on the 26th floor which was very nice of them and the room was spacious good for couples . |Breakfast was at the 7th floor and they had pretty good and healthy choices and the food in the 32nd floor was actually good and the price was fair. I had the mushroom soup which was excellent and some pad Thai. Get ready for the wind cause the gusts are very strong on the top floor. The staff was nice and accomodating and they had good strong coffee at breakfast which is a must for every traveler.

We stay at the city garden grand every time we visit The Philippines. It’s become our home from away. The hotel is clean, with spacious rooms and plenty of facilities. ||The breakfast is great with lots of choices. ||All staff are very service minded and make you feel at home||Firefly roofdeck is a great place at night, however the entertainment is somewhat boring with songs that make you sleep sometimes. ||We also stayed at the Diamond hotel for a few nights and I must say that their entertainment is more alive ….||Thanks for all staff to make our (family) visit to Manila great again. ||And specifically Tin at the Firefly….always smile and give her best. Sorry I can’t thank the rest of the staff by name but you’re all the best!

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional service I received during my recent stay.||From the moment I arrived, the staff provided warm, personalized hospitality that made my visit truly memorable. I was particularly impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of Monique from the front desk staff, she is very approachable and friendly! Check-in was so smooth and all questions was answered politely and accurately. As a previous Front desk supervisor, your skills was exceptional. Thank you for giving us a nice view! Next is Jobel from Valet, Parking is quite high but you didn't hesitate to help us and because of you our car was safely parked. Ralph and Emman from concierge was eager to help me with my luggage, offered excellent recommendations for local attractions, or resolved a minor issue with efficiency and a smile.||The attention to detail, from the spotless and comfortable room, thank you Blade from Housekeeping. The delicious food from breakfast buffet contributed to a truly enjoyable and relaxing experience. It's clear that customer satisfaction is a high priority for your team, and I felt genuinely welcomed and valued throughout my stay. ||I will not hesitate to recommend City Garden Grand Hotel to my friends and colleagues. Thank you again for an outstanding experience; I look forward to returning in the future.

An ultra modern, luxurious hotel right in the centre of Makati City. Lovely room, spacious and with great views. The rooftop pool and dining area are very nice, again offering spectacular views. The food was nice and the service was great

Yelp
I can't speak to the hotel rooms so this review is solely on my experience at the roof top bar/lounge. This was one of the best roof top bars and lounge to get a great view of the city skyline and perfect sunset photos. The ambiance is loud, couple TVs playing sporting events and the crowd very mixed. There is plenty of room to select from sitting at the bar for shade or outdoor area. The food was amazing and very delicious. The drinks could have been a little stronger but the bartender did come to our table several times to check in which I thought was cool of him to do. There were a couple errors with the meals and drinks. The main reason I gave 5 stars was the incredible customer service and staff. My waiter (Lyncis) was attentive and never did I feel because there was a rush she forgot about me and she offered some good recommendations she knew the menu very well. The manager JV was awesome as well making sure my dining experience was satisfactory and answered lots of questions I had about various things in relation to the country. A very huge special shout of to my honorary valentines Bea the guest service rep. She was cute but very professional, humorous and knew great spots to experience the nightlife in the area. I really hope City Garden Grand knows they have a strong team and really made the visit worth coming back. I tried the tanduay rum which you can get as shots or by the bottle. Other items included Pan chi, Pancit Guisado and chicken inasal. Great options for your tastebuds. Enjoy and don't for get to leave a Tip.

Yelp
Used to be great but, now it's okay. I've stayed at this hotel several times over the years. I recently stayed here and their shortcomings have become more noticeable. The Bad: Room Service or lack of room service? I ordered a fruit platter that never arrived. The following night I requested three glasses with just ice. Again, it never arrived. We then tried the restaurant on the roof. Everything was going well until my wife found hair in her food. Major strike in my opinion. House Keeping. The problem here was that the person in charge of our floor failed to clean our room several days in a row, The first excuse was that we had our Do Not Disturb light on. Correct but we changed it to house keeping at 10am. Second time we left the house keeping light on at 9am - 5pm. He never showed up. We were told he couldn't enter our room unless we were present or gave permission to enter the room while we were out. We informed house keeping that it was okay to clean the room while we were away. The next day we had out house keeping light on from 8am to 6pm. I even saw the house keeping staff and mentioned if he could clean our room? This occurred at 10am. We arrived back at our room at 6pm and you could guess what we saw. Our room was not cleaned. Now, the times house keeping did show up they did a very good job but, the problem was getting them to the room!!! Our room.... oh my. Zero view. A club blasting music thaT ECHOS all the way to our room. Curtain was falling down as well. I'll add a picture once I have a chance. The Good: The front desk staff. I would like to name to individuals that made this trip bearable. You need to recognize Paul and Cristine / Christine (sp?). Paul was outstanding during the check in process and made things go smoothly. Christine was the one that I spoke to in regards to house keeping and no more than 5 minutes after speaking with her we had three people in our room cleaning and changing the sheets and towels. This occurred after watching a customer ahead of me in a heated argument about his reservation. If I didn't witness that happening first hand I would never have known what she went through because when she dealt with me she was nothing but professional and pleasant!!! Pool staff. The gentleman working the pool was attentive the entire time I was at the pool with my kids. I asked him what the best time to come to the pool. I went the again the following day and we basically had the pool to ourselves!!!! Thank you for the inside info on the best time to go to the pool!!! I wish I remembered his name. The room. Huge TV!! Strong internet compared to my previous visit. Hot water and great water pressure in the shower. Beds were super comfortable and house keeping provided extra pillows which made the beds that much more comfortable!! Conclusion: Would I come back to this hotel? Yes. I would stay away from room service and their restaurant as during all three of my previous visits this has been their weak spot. Your front of house is the benchmark that all the other departments should strive to attain. To the management: Please don't lose these two employees (Paul & Christine) because they are the best example of how all hotel staff should act towards guests!!!

Yelp
Super nice hotel and price was great. Customer at front desk was super friendly and check me in quick. Nicely located near bars and restaurants. Roof top pool and bar was a nice touch but was lacking workers.

Yelp
Typical large, clean, gracious luxury, large roomed hotel. Grand entrance with lots of staff and seating areas. The bathrooms have a huge rain shower, in addition to a standard shower head. Take it under advisement when indulging. Its has a commanding top floor bar and pool area named Firefly. Must see. Also, visited the salad, soup, bread bar. The circular bar looked like a sci-fi space ship food buffet. Friendly staff. The expansive exercise area is welcomed. But, we walked passed it to get a most soothing shiatsu-Swedish massage to our specifications and pressure. The oil they used felt different and rich. Had to wash/scrub it off after our session. Lingered on the skin, its not a complaint! Good location, easy drop off area and free garage parking Salamat.

Yelp
I'm in love with this place! All the 5 star amenities you could ask for less. Stayed here for 3 nights and everything was incredible. Their 7th floor buffet is excellent and with tons of variety. When you book your room you can add it to your charges at half the cost. Their 9th floor spa and gym is no joke. Gym is well equipped. The staff at the spa is knowledgeable and professional. Their hands are like magic. They put me to sleep very easily. View of the city is pretty cool when the smog disappears...especially from the roof top pool and bar/restaurant. Drinks from this bar are great. The usually also have some pretty good live entertainment. Look for bar manager JOBERT and bartender NAMS to assist you. They were a delight and very eager to keep you happy. The entire staff were so very polite and helpful. They made me feel like royalty. Any request was fulfilled..even room service. Its walking distance from century mall which has a lot of great stores. And but a cab away from all other venues. For the price and location, I would say I got an excellent deal. I highly reccomend!! We will be back

Yelp
In summary, a fairly decent hotel, but it is quite noisy. Pros: -WiFi fast. However it does disconnect often when screen goes off. So it's a bit of a hassle. -Fairly big rooms. More than enough room -Nice shower head from ceiling Cons: -it's a total nightmare to get a grab car. Makati avenue has insanely bad traffic most hours of the day so cars take forever to arrive. I waited for over 20min for a car to the airport!! -Quite Loud. I was on the 10th floor and could constantly hear honking from the street -they only gave me one key which was required to activate the electricity in the room. So every time I left, the ac went out! So my room was always hot when I returned -pillows are too thick and firm -Elevators can take a while to arrive. Lots of waiting FYI it is near the red light street but I didn't notice much in the area. I wouldn't hesitate to stay with kids.

Yelp
Very clean, nice hotel, great location.Very helpful staff too. It was a last minute booking so I was grateful to be accomodated, was even more pleased when they upgraded my room. Room service was ok, the Firefly bar on the 32nd floor has great views and live music. Booked through Expedia.com with no issues. Will definitely book here on my next trip.

Yelp
I stayed there for 13 days in February 2020. I knew I would be happy after I checked in and they were so friendly. My room was nice as advertised. I love the 24 hour room service. For a motel the food was very good and I loved their adobo. The room was very clean and the maids were very good. My tv didnt work one day and within 15 minutes 3 staff came to my room and fixed it quickly. The staff were always helpful when I had questions. A very nice pool on the roof. The men at the front door where great at helping me when I needed it. I had an awesome view of Makati and McDonalds/Jollibee from my room. I had hot water every day and the aircon worked well. Salamat to the staff!

Yelp
I found this hotel through Yelp and it ended up being the perfect hotel for us. It is located on the corner of Makati Ave and Kalayaang. Don't get it confused with City Garden Hotel across the street. (It will be easy to get confused when you are trying to find it for the first time.) Here are some things you might like to know: *A room with a view cost us about $80/night U.S. *They validate parking. *The security guard will call a "Grab", their version of Uber, for you and will verify that the car matches and tell you the price up front. *The pool isn't heated and is quite cold. *They offer 24 hour room service and they also have two restaurants and a small cafe. *There is a rooftop restaurant/bar on the 32nd floor. It has amazing views in every direction. *They have a good rate on money exchange but the dollars you exchange need to be in pristine condition. Absolutely no rips, tears or folds. *Bring a power converter. *There are two shower heads. It might be easy to miss the "rain" shower head if you're not looking for it. *Each room has a hairdryer, a safe, and a water kettle to make instant coffee and tea. *There is a 7/11 across the street for bottled water, Gatorade, steamed buns and beer. They only sell instant coffee:-( *There is a Starbucks 1/2 block up on Kalayaang. *The Century City Mall is a block away and has some cool stores as well as a few places to eat. It even has a small grocery store. *Two blocks down is a night market called the Hott Asia Bazaar. It's a lot of fun! They have street food, live music and beer. There are many locals here and you are bound to have a great time. I stayed here with my family for 8 nights, broken up by a trip to Palawan. We found it to be in a great location and it was easy to get around from here. We walked quite a bit and we also used Grab. Taxis seemed to be available at all times. I would stay at this hotel again and I would recommend it to anybody staying in the Makati area.

Yelp
Let me start this off by saying that I haven't stayed in the Grand yet, but I was able to tour the hotel as part of an ocular for our planning sessions. We were looking for a large enough hotel with good-enough rooms and conference areas where we could billet our staff and hold our planning meetings. The rooms were great. Their superior rooms -- the lowest possible rung in their ladder of choices -- had a queen-size bed with the fluffiest sheets and pillows, a desk, a sofa, a bathtub, and a gorgeous view of the Makati skyline. If you climb up to their penthouse, they also have an al fresco dining area as well as an infinity pool, where you can rest at the edge which offered a dizzying view of the city below. If you're thinking of holding a large conference here though, you might want to look somewhere else. They don't have the capacity for that. For small meetings however, that's a different story. They have gorgeous meeting rooms, so have at it.

Yelp
While I've walked through the lobby which looks nice, I headed straight to the 32nd floor for a happy hour cocktail at Firefly Roof Deck Bar. What a nice surprise this bar is! I was looking for a place outdoors to have a cocktail with a friend and this place popped up on my google search. I had never heard of this place, but it got such rave reviews by the writer I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed. The rooftop is high enough up that you get a wonderful breeze along with the fabulous view, especially as the sun is setting. Personally, cocktails aren't their strong suit, so go simple with a gin and tonic or a glass of wine. You can also indulge in the nightly BBQ from 6:30-9:30pm. It's a large space so you don't feel cramped and there are tables and chairs facing the beautiful city skyline so you can relax over conversation. I love this hidden gem and don't mind if it stays quiet for just a while longer.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of staying at the City Garden Grand Hotel and Romani Cruz served us on several days during breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. Romano is a very attentive, friendly and personable waiter. I appreciate the personal touch when staying at different places and I have to say he made my stay very enjoyable and the breakfast is FANTASTIC!

Yelp
This was my first trip to Manilla or the Philippines and I must say that my stay at the City Garden Grand Hotel was one of the best highlights of my stay. The room was clean and looked great! The staff was friendly and courteous to me all the time and the onsite services was great! I will definitely be staying here the next time I'm back in the area!

Yelp
enjoyed my stay here. i highly recommend this hotel in makati. Would've liked to stay in the presidential though.

Yelp
This one of my go to hotels in Manila. It's conveniently located. It's one block from the food fair that's done every night around 6pm, I think. Both Greenbelt and Powerplant Malls are a 20-25 minute walk if you are in shape. I've stayed at both the City Garden and City Garden Grand and for the price and location, I'm pleased with both. Mang Inasal and Kenny Rogers are located across the street. What else do you need? Hope to see you soon!

Yelp
We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. We lived in the philippines as expats for 5 years already and this has been one of the best experiences when it comes to filipino hospitality by far. The attentivness of the staff, the Management and the rooms, pool, and restaurant do not fail to impress. We really enjoyed our stay there and we can recommend this place for business as well as leisure traveling with kids.  The aircons are very good, very silent and do not dry you out.  the roofdeck pool is a big plus and so is the restaurant on the roofdeck. The breakfast buffet is very big and offers a lot of choices, while the a la carte food is just o.k. and if you are looking for very good food i recommend one of the many choices arround the hotel. In mine and my wifes opinion this is really one of the best places to stay at in manila considered the price and location. So all in all a very recommendable place!
