"Modern Marvel: Seoul City Hall Seoul’s City Hall is a swooping mass of glass and steel tucked snugly into the heart of the city at Seoul Plaza. This modern architectural marvel stands out starkly behind the small stone building of the Seoul Metropolitan Library—the building that previously served as city hall since Korea’s liberation from Japan in 1945. The man responsible for the design, Kerl Yoo, has commented that the building is supposed to represent Korean traditions as well as embrace the future. Not sure how exactly the newfangled monstrosity is traditional in any way, but it’s worth taking a stroll around the two structures to see the glaring contrast between old and new. Get there via the City Hall subway station."
I usually transfer here when heading to Seoul from home. It’s always packed, but the trains come often, so it’s not too bad.

Big station. Many connections. Great access to a bunch of stuff.

Right by city hall. This station is always busy. Station is real big and has the 1 line and 2 line. The 2 line section looks older and drab. The 1 line section looks newer and cleaner.

The opening of this station has really cool architecture and there's also 2 public lounge areas with comfortable seating if you're feeling tired

Most of the subway stations entrance/exit does not have escalator or lift. If you are carrying heavy luggages, be prepared to carry up few flight of stairs.

It's a really long walk from the green line to the blue line. Many people pulling the luggage and trolling their legs along the banking area of the city. The toilets are clean despite the busy traffic. Transit can be easy with the clear signs and English wordings. The gates works very well despite the intense workers travelling at lightning speed

I've never seen a city hall this beautiful or full of wonders. From the vertical hanging garden in the entrance, to the relic exhibit in the basement, yo the quaint gift store (basement), this is a real treat.

The town hall is very beautiful and neat. I always pass front of it. When I want to leave for the train station.
