8 Best Hostels in Stockholm: My Top Places to Stay in 2025

"Although the rooms are pretty basic, I appreciated that City Hostel – Central Station is the closest hostel to the central station and that its common area and bathrooms are kept super clean. There's a great kitchen, free coffee and tea all day, and all beds include linens; the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, and it's a convenient base if you want easy access to transport (it's about a 20-minute walk to the Old Town)." - Matthew Kepnes

Location: excellent Rooms: big and nice with lockers Kitchen: small but super friendly and they provide free sugar, coffee and tea which is amazing. Mainly the kitchen is the area to make friends There's a small common area with a tv for everyone which is very fun. 2 negatives: there is no bread toaster. And, the wifi doesn't reach all beds in the 12 bed room, so when I was in the room I never had WiFi, only a little bit Showers and toilets are fine and never crowded

We stayed at City Hostel from October 2–4 and were really happy with our stay! The location is quite strategic, close to grocery stores and several restaurants. The room is minimalist but just nice for the two of us with one big suitcase. The hostel also provides a kitchen where guests can cook, and they even offer free coffee and tea. Luggage storage was easy, and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Excellent hostel. Clean, organised, good facilities, perfect temperature. Close to metro and buses. Good supermarkets, coffee and breakfast options close by. Easy walk to Central Station and airport transport. Good price. Would stay again.

It was fun & clean at the hostel. Well equipped kitchen. The picture comes from the supermarket on the other side of the Street. All services you need is at hand just outside the hostel gate ICA KVANTUM

It's a clean space and the prices line up with the service and accommodations you receive. However, there weren't any windows in the room, which is kinda problematic when you're sleeping there with six people in a small room... The showers and bathrooms are clean and there was never a waiting line. It's mostely selfservice and the kitchen is well equipped.

my first hostel experience!! it was super clean (spotless even!), the rooms were secure with two locks on the door !! obviously very basic amenities but the system they have in place were very efficient and worked very well. we did not have any problems with noise, apart from the doors closing when people come in at night; for that i suggest to bring earplugs and the problem will be sorted!! the location is EXCELLENT; the walk to the central station was only 13 mins (we are fast walkers) and this allows you to get connected to the whole city with ease. as of nearby businesses, there is an italian around the corner, a 7 eleven right next door, and a joe and the juice right on the same street. it was very central and we could walk comfortably to all parts of the city…. albeit quite long walks (we do love a wonder!!). the people in the hostel mainly kept to themselves, which created quite a peaceful environment, and the women’s showers were always clean and comfortable. an overall fantastic first hostel experience and i would come back!!

Great location but had asked for a lower bunk bed and they were unable to provide one (asked a while in advance). The girls showers stunk and only two locks out of the 5 showers were working. There was also nowhere to get changed as bathrooms were in a separate section and the showers worked using a sensor so everytime I would try and get changed I’d get sprayed with water. Unless you want to try and run across to the bathroom in a towel in front of strangers then be my guest. No room to put luggage either. Would not recommend!

Yelp
About 12 mins walk from the Central Train station. It is right next to a 7/11 which is great to get snacks. Bathrooms and showers are clean. I stayed in the dorm, which is spacious. The bed is kind squeaky and mattress probably needs to get replaced soon. overall, good hostel.

Yelp
This hostel is pretty decent, nothing really stands out. It is the first hostel where the front desk/receptionist isn't open 24/7. They close at 6pm everyday. Not very convenient at all. At least the women at the front desk are very attractive and friendly and speak great English ! The showers are ok, you have to keep putting you hand in front of the sensor to keep it on, kind of annoying. Kitchen area is spacious, living room area is nice. It is conveniently located next to a 7/11 which I've been going to religiously. Beds are super creaky and annoying, but that's what ear plugs are good for I suppose. Stockholm is awesome, this hostel is decent. It'll get the job done at least

Yelp
The private rooms were nice but got incredibly hot. The rooms don't have windows and the place is located in a basement so very little air movement. The four days I was there, everyone seemed sick, including myself by the time we departed. Their facility seemed clean bathrooms, showers and kitchen. Day room and kitchen are heavily trafficked in the evenings. I will not stay here again as the price was higher than others.
