City Hotel Oberland Swiss Quality Hotel

A perfect location for central Interlaken. Easy access to both train stations. Very close to the park to watch the paragliders, and plenty of shopping all around. We didn't eat in the hotel, but the tourist office very nearby offered a few suggestions for us. We stayed in the smaller part of the hotel that was very quiet with way access. Breakfast was included and everything we typically eat was good. Yogurt, granola, eggs, bacon and coffee. The staff was very helpful at provided more pillows and towels as well.

Pathetic experience.. we had to stay without Ac inspite of paying for ac rooms. They didnt even bother to solve the problem inspite of repeated complaints. The staff is also very rude..this place completely spoilt my entire idea of how warm people are in Switzerland. They dont even speak properly to kids.

The staff was absolutely fantastic! You are set right in the middle of Interlaken and close to everything. My family of four stayed in a fanily room and it was plenty of space with a nice balcony overlooking the city with mountain views as well. I will absolutely stay here again.

Close to West station. Check in was a breeze and breakfast was good. It’s expensive for what it is but that is Interlaken for you. |The rooms were small, shower was tiny and flooded the bathroom. I had a small balcony although I didn’t use it (weather wasn’t great while I was there but also it was far too loud to sit on the balcony and chill!). It’s in a good location but really noisy so don’t expect to get a good nights sleep. |Housekeeping don’t every day which was good but very average hotel and not worthy of a 4 star rating.

This is a mixed review of a hotel which I would describe overall as average. |On balance, the hotel is well located and centrally located in Interlaken. Furthermore, the front desk service is helpful. Of particular note, one of the team personally went to get me a rollaway bed after I expressed my concerns about the bunk bed. We were in the Family Fortress (4 of us) and the storage space was adequate. The balcony was also sizeable. Towels were plentiful and bed linen was comfortable. There is a launderette right next door. ||However, what needs addressing in this hotel is the WiFi. We checked in and could not log on any of our 4 Devices. Front desk explained this was an ongoing issue WiFi and Apple devices, but that in the morning it may be resolved. In reality I think what was meant that once it became quieter that we may actually get online. This happened around midnight when others got off. The WiFi was patchy thereafter- with insufficient bandwidth to support streaming. This is not acceptable in a 4 star hotel and needs to be addressed by the management team. It’s not the fault of front desk. This was a terrible first impression. ||Finally, the overall hotel I think suffers from its over stylised website. It’s fine - but not as fancy as it looks on the website.

Very close to Interlaken West with modern facilities. Easy to walk to from the West train station. Far away from the East train station. Showers in bathroom were not designed well and water went everywhere. So much so that the baseboards around the area were decaying from the water. The hotel also did not have A/C and was needed during a hot summer day.

The only acceptable thing about this place was the location.|Everything else was an absolute disaster. There is zero value in staying here. |For close to six hundred dollars for two nights, we got "Guest house", which is in shady building at the back alley of the otherwise decent looking hotel.|First shock was there was no aircon, no fridge in the room. Just a standing fan that was as loud as a jet engine. I had to go to reception because the phone didn't work and they just blatantly announced there is no aircon there, handed me a different fan for me to carry to my room. That was 'the service, the solution'. The wifi was extremely slow, but very often dropping completely.|This was a daylight robbery and no value for money.

This felt like a backpackers hotel, tiny rooms cheaply furnished, worn and stained, sewer smell in the tiny bathroom. How did they get four stars and charge those insane prices? It was in a nice location and I felt the staff worked hard but overall very deceptive marketing.
