City Hotel Thessaloniki

Stayed here 3 nights while on a pilgrimage tour of Greece with my church group. The location was great being right in the heart of Thessaloniki near the waterfront. Everything from shops, bars and restaurants was within good walking distance. The rooms were also comfortable and we were amused at the motivational quotes plastered on the mirrors in the hallways. Since renovations were being done to the hotel’s restaurant, we ended up having breakfast and dinner at hotels across the street. Despite this, our overall stay at the City was excellent.

Great Value and Perfect Location! City Hotel Thessaloniki is right in the heart of the city — just steps away from restaurants, shops, and major attractions. If you want to be in the center of the action, this is the perfect place to stay. While the rooms and bathrooms are on the smaller side, they are clean, well-maintained, and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. The overall experience definitely justifies the price. It’s a smart choice for travelers who value location and convenience. I would definitely stay here again!

great staff - the lady at the reception changed my room urgently after a minor problem, as compensation and a birthday present she allowed me to have breakfast at the sister hotel Excelsior. The hotel is undergoing renovations, which sometimes disturbed the clients, but everything was done with the greatest possible consideration. I completely forgot about the minor negatives, because of the caring staff. Especially Dimitris at the reception was very helpful, professional and friendly. As a solo traveler I really appreciate such staff. My room was quite large, clean, well equipped, with a nice, large balcony. The hotel is centrally located, by the sea/port - great location for trips (beware the sea is close but the beach is not)

The hotel is currently being refurbished, so one lift was non-operational, and there was construction equipment around. However, our stay was enjoyable, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Rooms were clean and modern. Great breakfast. Will definitely return.

Lovely hotel in the centre of the city.| I stayed in a beautiful, newly renovated room with city view. The room was comfortable, super clean, with great mattress and pillows. Hotel provides all the facilities needed for a nice and relaxed stay. Stayed here a week for work. Very conveniently located close to the water, restaurants, nice shops and tourist attractions. I ended up walking almost everywhere although there are lots of easy buses and cheap taxis on a rank nearby. ||If you’re staying for a convention or exhibition, it’s a 25 minute walk which can get a bit sweaty in hot weather but it’s a pleasant walk either along the waterfront or the shopping streets.||Rooms were simple and comfy. The bathroom IS small but totally functional and very clean. Elevators are teeny tiny so a room on a lower floor might mean you take the stairs.||And breakfast is nice with good choice and quality.||My only slight challenge was that the A/c in my room wouldn’t get it below about 18C

Perfect for both business and leisure travelers. Highly recommended!

Perfect location. Nice an clean, modern hotel. Good service. Rooms are small an cozy. Bed is really comfortable. They are supplied with cosmetics from well known greek brand. Small tea station is available too. They colaborate with parking lots near by so you can vount on that too.
