10 of the Cheapest Countries to Retire Around the World

"A private hospital in Ho Chi Minh City that specifically caters to foreign patients, with most medical staff speaking English, making it a convenient option for expats and retirees seeking quality care in Vietnam." - Patricia Doherty Patricia Doherty Patricia Doherty is a writer who specializes in covering destinations, resorts, and cruises for Travel + Leisure and other publications. Avoid this hospital at all cost. They only care about taking your money. My father got sick and we admitted him here because we thought the hospital was good. The doctor diagnosed him with the incorrect illness and looked clueless half the time. They barely check on the patients, my father threw up everywhere due to their neglect and they never bothered cleaning it up or checking in on him. Worse of all the forgot to give him his medicine for his infection. Horrible people. Avoid this place!!!

My recent two-day experience at this hospital was a mixture of highs and lows, making it difficult to provide a definitive rating. I believe it's important to consider various aspects when evaluating a hospital, including the quality of the staff and doctors. With that in mind, here is my honest review. First and foremost, the hospital staff was exceptionally helpful throughout my visit. They were attentive and did their best to assist me, and the fact that most of them spoke English made the communication process much smoother. Additionally, I found the prices to be reasonable, which is always a positive aspect when it comes to medical services. However, my experience with the doctor on the first day was disappointing. I had come to the hospital to have a benign tumor removed from my nose, a procedure that I was previously informed could be done on an outpatient basis. However, the doctor I encountered at City Hospital insisted on unnecessary and expensive examinations, which I declined. Moreover, they attempted to persuade me to undergo a costly surgery that would have been approximately 40 times more expensive than the outpatient procedure. After refusing, the doctor performed the outpatient procedure, but initially, they started burning the tumor without providing any local anesthesia. The pain was excruciating, and only after my request did they administer the local anesthesia, rendering the procedure possible. Unfortunately, my first-day experience was marred by the doctor's questionable approach and their apparent focus on maximizing profit rather than prioritizing patient well-being. On the second day, I visited the hospital for an allergy test. Thankfully, the doctor I encountered was compassionate and helpful, providing me with a wealth of valuable information. However, I was disappointed to learn that the test could only cover 20 typical allergies, limiting its effectiveness. In summary, this hospital has its merits, but it is essential to exercise caution when dealing with the doctors. It is advisable to conduct your own research and seek second opinions if needed. The helpfulness of the staff and the reasonable pricing were positive aspects, but the inconsistency in the quality of medical care is concerning. Ultimately, I believe there is room for improvement in the hospital's approach to patient care and ensuring that doctors prioritize the well-being of their patients above all else. With continued efforts towards enhancing patient experiences and maintaining transparency, this hospital can truly excel in providing exceptional medical care.

I sought help here for my bandage to be replaced (and I was already 3 days late!) but I got nothing because the doctor was on holiday. Of course I find it strange that an emergency department doesn't always have a doctor on duty. Furthermore, the doctor would not be there the following day either, because of the holiday, and I would have to wait 48 hours before I could be helped. So I took another 1 hour bus and went to the American hospital where I immediately found help and care. I am disappointed. This is not how a (privat) hospital should work 🤨

Tomorrow marks the end of my 7-day stay at the hospital, and I will be discharged. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Nguyen Bach Hue and the dedicated nurses of CIH's Pediatrics Department for their enthusiastic and conscientious care ❤️ The facilities are lovely, the service is excellent, and the hospital room is clean and comfortable. Thank you for making my stay as pleasant as possible. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I gave birth at City International Hospital (CIH) in Ho Chi Minh City. The surgery was done by BS, CKII Nguyễn Vũ Mỹ Linh. Everything was very good. I felt safe. The doctors and nurses were very kind. The hospital was clean. The food was tasty. They also gave gifts for my baby. I am very happy and I say thank you to CIH!

Absolutely amazing experience. I’m currently travelling for 3 months and had a mole start acting weird. Booked my appointment and was seen within a week. Got to the hospital and I’ve never seen efficiency like it. Appointment was on time and I was seen with the surgeon and removed all WITHIN AN HOUR! I’m gobsmacked at how fast they were. Really amazing for anyone visiting and has worries about health things that come up.

I had a C-section here with Dr. Khoi Nguyen, great experience. All nurses were also very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!
