City Lights Boutique Lodge

Great place to stay in Rotorua. Its a drive up a hill, out of town ( 10mins in the car ) but give you fantastic views across the bay and you can see the steam rising from the various blow holes. We stayed in the Tui room. Loads of space to crash out and a nice big shower room. Lost of storage space too. Great patio area outside where you can have use of the BBQ and jacuzzi. Lovely continetal style breakfast with some home made food. The Alpacas on site are cute. Would recommend.

Stunning location, beautiful views across the valley and lovely alpacas to greet you over the fence! David and Grace were very hospitable and gave us lots of information. All sorts of homemade jams and cakes for breakfast (cereal and toast also) and a soak in the hot tub. Just lovely,

The view alone is worth it. You can see the whole city from a garden with a cat, alpacas and little ducklings. But the best part has to be the hosts. Very kind, considerate and well informed about the area and many other topics. Would definitely have stayed longer if we could!

This is quite an amazing lodge in Rotorua! Grace and David are superb hosts, graciously taking care of all our needs to stay and eat. They serve the best food! And so informative of everything to see, local sights and attractions, recommendations, etc. We stayed in the Kiwi room, with a spacious bath and private patio, backyard, and their lovely alpacas and ducks! Their living room is so well decorated and attractive, and the outside patio warm and inviting with lots of seating and a jacuzzi!! So highly recommended... this is the best place to stay and see the countryside and views of the town all around!!

City Light Boutique Lodge in Rotorua is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning views overlooking the city. The picturesque scenery creates a perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway.||One of the unique highlights of City Light Lodge is the adorable alpacas on the property. Being able to feed and stroke them added a delightful touch to our stay. These gentle creatures are not only charming but also offer a fun and interactive experience that both kids and adults will love.||After a day of exploring Rotorua, the hot tub was a fantastic way to unwind, especially after a chilly winter day. There’s nothing better than soaking in warm water while taking in the beautiful surroundings.||The hospitality at City Light Lodge is exceptional, making you feel right at home. The combination of breathtaking views, lovely alpacas, and a relaxing hot tub ensures a memorable experience. We highly recommend City Light Lodge for anyone looking to enjoy the beauty of Rotorua in a peaceful and inviting setting!

We loved our stay at City Lights. David and Grace are great hosts and the property is lovely.|Our room was beautifully presented with lots of nice extra touches.|As well as the many activities in Rotorua, we enjoyed chilling out in the garden on the sofa and using the Hot Tub. |It’s a short drive into town for dinner but we were so glad we stayed at City Lights.

City Lights Boutique is a treat on the hillside overlooking Rotorua. David & Grace are gracious hosts, with expert knowledge of the area. |They are accommodating & friendly, but also caring. They care about the local community. |Their boutique is comfortable, has stunning views, and nothing is too much trouble for them. |The breakfasts are fabulous, and David, you're a star with your homemade baking. As for Grace, she has a heart of gold. |Thank you for a fabulous time.

Amazing host. Super clean. Well kept. Can’t say enough

Not only is the City Lights Boutique Lodge situated at a perfect place with a beautiful view of Rotorua - complete with lake, city and the occasional geyser. But the hosts, Angie and Leigh are also extremely welcoming, friendly and caring, providing a lot of tips on what to do in the area. We couldn't have asked for any better service during our unfortunately quite short stay. The Lodge itself is stylish, modern and clean on the outside and inside. Our room - Kiwi - had just the perfect size and amenities. Breakfast was also excellent, with plenty of nice things to choose from. As a bonus, some comic relief is provided by the very cute Alpacas, and a quite charming cat, Oscar. Really the only downside was the shortness of our stay, just one night. We certainly have to fix that next time we visit Rotorua, and the City Lights Boutique Lodge.
