This is a great breakfast spot. Very reasonable prices and the food was tasty and plentiful. It's a very nice family style restaurant with very friendly staff. This was my first time there, and I definitely will return. The seating is a bit limited, so I would advise checking Google for peak times and seating availability. It's worth the wait or going in non-prime time slots.

Destiny was hands down the best waitress I’ve had in a long time. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect the entire visit. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers she has such a beautiful soul and you can definitely tell she loves her jobs . Ask for Destiny if you come here she’s the BEST!

I am a regular patron of the city limits. The food is fantastic , good enough I tip the cook occasionally. The waitresses are 10 out of 10 you will feel right at home. Lots of veterans eat their. I invite the rest of you. Great portions bring an appetite.

I've been wanting to stop here for quite some time, and finally had an opportunity to do so. It's a traditional small-town diner: customers on a first name basis, older but well-kept decor, and some down-home cooking. I got their breakfast combo #1: 2 pancakes, 2 eggs (any style), 2 bacon strips, and 2 sausage links. The pancakes were large and fluffy, the bacon and sausage was properly crispy, and the eggs were fluffy. I did not try their coffee, as I had just finished my coffee from home. I felt the price for what you got was perfectly acceptable, given the portion size. Their business is usually steady with regular customers, but their at a prime location in downtown Saline for those who may be passing through to give them much needed business! The *tiniest* of drawbacks is they're open 7am-3pm, but that is more than reasonable as their primary meal offerings are breakfast and lunch related.

The service was amazing, food was the best that I've had, quick to get your order. Very attentive. Clean and neat setting. 1st time eating there and will definitely go back when I'm in town again.

City Limits Diner in Saline has a lot going for it. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming and family-oriented, and the food has always been really good. Unfortunately, during my last visit, I saw a live cockroach on the wall. I understand that things can happen, but that experience made me uncomfortable, and for now I don’t feel confident returning. I truly hope this is an issue that gets addressed, because it’s a place I would otherwise enjoy supporting. Wishing the team the best and hoping to see improvements in the future.

Another quaint typical Midwest homie small town greasy spoon diner. Friendly service, clean and a fun place to listen to locals chat. The food is fine but not the healthiest.

The food was fresh and tasty, perfect portions too. The service was very fast and friendly. The ambiance is that of a delightful and charming small-town diner.

So happy they had a senior menu so I had the mini breakfast of one egg, ham and fruits with my usual morning of coffee and wheat toast, all for under 10 dollars! Our attentive wait person came 3 times to make sure we had coffee! My friend enjoyed her yummy veggie scramble also with melange of fresh fruit. Good nice space for a quiet chat with my friend.

They have a really good fish sandwich. But the breakfast is just ok. The reason I'm giving it a 3 star is because the energy is always down and the waitstaff is so different from Bug Boy. That makes a difference in experience so we honestly prefer big boy over City Limits. But City Limits is cheaper than Big Boy,

Must go to when in Saline. Breakfast is the absolute best! Owner and staff are very friendly (except that guy who like the 49ers, not that guy. lol just kidding buddy, you're my boy).

Great little family owned diner. Got in for brunch around 11:30 on a Sunday and we didn't have to wait - which is surprising because it was definitely hopping. Clearly a local favorite. Food was pretty decent - classic diner style. Good French toast. Nice big menu. Would recommend (:

I just stopped in on the way to get my hair done.. very small town type place. I was greeted and sat as soon as i walked in. I ordered a coffee and a omelette and both were good. It actually was one of the better omelettes ive had in the area which was great! The service was good as well coffee stayed full along with my water and was checked on every few minutes to make sure i was good.

We have been coming to City Limits Diner for many years. It is now our 'go-to' for breakfast. The waffles are really good but the king of breakfast here is the skillet! You get a big plate of potatoes mixed up with assorted other ingredients (depending on which skillet you ordered) plus 2 eggs. Plus 2 slices of toast (yes, they have wheat and raisin!) or 2 pancakes! You won't be hungry for a while. Service is always friendly and they treat you like family. This place is hoppin in the mornings on the weekend so if you are a late riser, you won't have much wait. They close at 3 every day, so remember that! For lunch, they make a decent burger or sandwich with a few creative options. The menu is extensive.

Nice local spot in Saline. Staff consistently takes excellent care of me. I enjoyed the hearty barley soup. The person who made this knows what s/he is doing; probably the tastiest I've had. Then I had the veggie scramble and added cut up sausage and bacon FTW. Blasphemy for the vegetarians. Screw them. I want dead meat! For breakfast, I enjoy the different scrambles and skillet dishes, or a veggie omlette with bacon crumbles. The traditional American breakfast of two eggs, meat, or potato is a strong choice. For lunch: you cannot go wrong with their cheeseburger, nor the tasty turkey club. I recommend checking out the Daily Specials board above the cash register area. Recommend to fellow Yelpers! This is a place for normal folks. No hipster douchebags here. Just good food.

My wife and I just had lunch there today and I have to say it was fantastic we had a truly rub in and fries both we prepared perfectly. The turkey was not some cheap stuff you buy off the shelf very tender and sliced just right and the fries were cooked just right crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This place is a must if you are in the saline area or out of town you need to go here

My 92 year old dad's favorite restaurant!! The food is great and they treat you like family! Never had a bad meal there! Breakfast, lunch or dinner! Eaten there hundreds of times! Roxy, James and the rest of the crew will all make sure that not only your food and service is great, but that your whole day is great!! They love their customers!! Not only do you get a smile, but if you are a regular you get hugs and kisses too! Large portions, kid friendly, old people friendly, tastes great! Opens early (not sure of time) and closes at 3pm. So great for a breakfast or lunch. My favs: Cinnamon Raisin french toast with bacon on the side or for lunch a burger or club sandwich and onion rings. My dad's favs: Hot cakes with strawberries or for lunch a Ruben or tuna melt! YUM!

PSA: do not order fruit here as I was served dehydrated oranges and frozen "yellow watermelon/pineapple" which they claimed was "fresh and cut just today". Didn't know "yellow watermelon/pineapple" naturally grows frozen. Was quite disappointed as I was looking forward to eating some fresh fruit.

Great breakfast place. The omelettes (especially the Greek) have great flavor, and large enough to feed a small fighting force. The French toast has good flavor, not soggy, not burnt. The eggs Benedict was good, but not great. As for lunches, the gyro's are good, but the bacon cheeseburger on a pretzel bun is top notch. I highly recommend this place for people passing through.

This place is wonderful, one of my favorites for sure. It opens early at 6 and closes I believe at 2 pm which is great if you want to stop in early. So many wonderful choices to pick from and even if a busy time, service is fast and friendly. My favorite us the omelettes here but also gave had many other items as well.

Great food - dirty place I love the menu selection! Now update the interior, clean the floors and bathroom, train the wait staff, put up proper partitions between prep and dining areas, and this would be a nice place to eat. We won't be back unless we see some updates happen. Sticky divy diner place that is worse than any coney island I've come across. I was worried about the quality of the food but we were pressed for time and out of options. The food was great! I had one of the Benedict selections and my hubs had crepes. Great food! I hope they clean up the rest.

Their customer service is fantastic, highly recommend the pancakes, fish & chips, and club sandwiches.

I've been here several times for breakfast and lunch. Just an ordinary little diner where you can get all the American staples, and a few surprises, like the chicken quesadilla. Should have ordered that today, but I went with a chicken salad sandwich. Decent-sized portions. Decent prices, too. If you order from the specials list, a sandwich, fries or onion rings + side salad or soup will set you back $6. They are NOT open for dinner. Only breakfast and lunch. This is the kind of place where everybody waves to each other when someone they know shows up. Saline is a small town, and you get to know folks here. An update: I went back about a week later and tried the chicken quesadilla lunch special. Bland! But I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I'll stick with the stuff they do best -- regular, "American diner" sandwiches. Maybe next time, I'll get the gyro sandwich. The young ladies that work here as wait staff are real sweet on one of our neighbors, who is a regular. They fuss over this old guy like you wouldn't believe. I find that touching, that they are so friendly.

Friendly staff and great breakfast. These guys treat you like family. Local diner with charm deserves A+ on the exceptional customer service. You will know the staff by name before you leave. Great job.

The food was good but wouldn't recommend going if you're not a regular or if you're young. Service seemed to be catered to regulars and did not receive a refill for either of us even upon request.

It surprised me the amount of choices this place offers with such a low cost. It's not the most delicious but it for sure would be the best deal with the price they charge. Would love to come again.

Friday morning between 8-9 the diner was quiet, clean, and the service was cheerful and efficient. The food was delicious: a breakfast special Garden veggie scramble, with crisp fried potatoes and two pancakes. The price was very reasonable. The serving was generous enough to leave enough for takeout for another meal. The space was well-lit and it was easy to carry on a conversation. I will be coming here again. Next time, I will order the same, and save the pancakes, as the one I brought home was superb warmed in the oven until the edges were all crispy, and served with real maple syrup and butter! You couldn't ask for a better dessert!

The food is typical diner food, and it's near my folks, so we popped in for breakfast. The omelettes are huge! Everything tasted fresh and there are many, many options for any breakfast item you want. I have to mention the staff here. So friendly, filling up coffee, cracking jokes with my Dad, and I saw a waitress sitting in a booth, helping an elderly patron fill out some forms regarding transportation around town. That, was enough to make me tip 30%, and go back again and again just to reward kindness.

My company is currently in town on business and we have ate at this restaurant every morning. The food is great. The service is great. They have a hometown feeling, like I've known them for years. I highly recommend.

I eat here a couple times a month. I use it also as a meeting place for business occasionally. Food is consistently good whether you order breakfast or lunch. I like the skillets at breakfast and I love the gyros or wraps at lunch.

I had never tried this restaurant before but I really wanted breakfast and gave it a try.. first I called to see if they were open (COVID-19), I spoke to a lady who took my order and answered my questions. She was very polite and helpful!! When I got my food I was extremely impressed. It was really very good and reasonably priced. But I think the best part of the experience is the friendliness and caring of the people that work there. Definitely will be going again my omelette was great! Thank you!

Sorry. Not impressed - first time here - omelette tasted like they use liquid cheese - potatoes were lukewarm at best - restaurant was cold - husband doesn't complain and committed that he didn't like his omelette either

We came here for breakfast. The portions were huge, food was typical diner food- nothing outstanding. The skillets were delicious! And the pancakes were huge!! Service was okay but nothing outstanding.

We stop here every couple of weeks and we love the smiling faces and great service we always get! The food is always made to order and a great value!!

Quick confession: I have only ever been here hungover and starving for breakfast. With that being said, the food is always delicious. Sausage is a little weird, but I'm not mad at it. About what you would expect from an unhealthy diner breakfast. Atmosphere leaves little to be desired but it's always filled with cute old people so I don't mind.

A diner without a bunch of commotion or uncomfortable waiting. Just a nice, friendly place to get a good ol' American brefist. Prices are cheap; service is fast.

We loved our brunch here today. We were greeted and say promptly with a smile, and the host took and delivered our drink orders as well. It was a busy Sunday morning, but our server was friendly and prompt. The portions were large and the food was really good. The kids loved their chocolate chip pancakes, bacon and sausage. My omelet with jalapeños, tomatoes and avocado was even better than I expected: spicy, cheesy and huge! Ditto on my husband's entree. Coffee was piping hot and refilled regularly. 4 meals and drinks = $28. Score! If this is consistent, City Limits Diner is going to become our go to spot.

I've only been here for breakfast, and I've always liked it. A bonus: it's not as greasy as the OTHER breakfast place in town that I also love!

Very good homemade corned beef hash, and good, fluffy pancakes. Excellent menu selection. Service is always friendly and prompt. Please stop cutting corners by reheating bacon (server said sometimes it was made the day before). It is served dry, shriveled, and curled up on the plate. Instead, cook it fresh, and serve flat, in strips. Also, please stop using canned peaches instead of fresh peaches for pancake toppings. Keep the half and half bowls on the table cleaned and filled with fresh half and half. Use a better coffee. Even by diner standards the coffee has little flavor Clean the tables a bit better.

Good place for a casual meal. Went for Sunday brunch with my wife around 11am and were seated right away, despite a continual queue at the door. Building is not impressive and interior is a bit cluttered (also a little dirty from morning rush). However, food was of good quality and surprisingly cheap. Had a three egg omelette with side choices of hash browns/fruit and toast/pancakes for $6 - can easily turn that into two full meals. Service was friendly and attentive, although some minor mistakes were made (forgot silverware at first and mayo for wife's sandwich). Popular place with locals - would probably visit again for a quick meal when in town.

Really enjoyed breakfast here. My husband and I moved to Saline a few years ago and this was our first time in. He had french toast and I had an omlette. It came with fresh fruit and raisin toast and everything tasted great. The waitress was very fast and attentive always making sure we had everything we needed and making sure there was always coffee in my cup. Look forward to going back and so fortunate to have so many great places in our home town : )

Our experiences in the past were great, but now the service is absolutely awful. Three experience summaries. #1- I arrived and waited up front by the door because the sign said to wait to be seated. The restaurant had two patrons; it was empty. The staff completely ignored me for ten minutes (just walked back and forth and didn't seat me). Finally I asked if I should seat myself and the waitress responded "yes, but not in my section" (as if I knew her section). Apparently I sat in her section because shortly after she loudly complained to another waitress "I knew she would sit in my section." She came over and dropped two filthy menus on the table and left. #2- My husband and I went back to give it another shot because we seriously have loved this restaurant for years. We were seated, the waitress dropped off dirty, sticky menus, and then we didn't see her again for quite a while. We sat there with no drinks. The waitress was extremely rude. After our food was delivered we sat there with no silverware or napkins. We had to wait to get her attention to get that as well. I am disappointed in the service at this restaurant. We have been loyal customers for years but I doubt we will go back. There seems to be plenty of waitresses standing around and no shortage of staff, yet the staff treat the customers as if they are a nuisance.

Great gyro omelette! They are true angels with excellent service and attention to detail. They messed up one of my orders but got it right the next time, and also got it right another time I came in, but I forgave them and enjoyed the atmosphere. There is a classic Americana feel here in this small diner, and I personally love it. They have big portions which are appropriate for what you pay. There is also a great selection of toppings for the omelettes.

Best breakfast in Saline. Fresh homemade food. Love the Eggs Benedict! Staff in friendly and attentive!

Everything about this place was average. Average food. Average waitstaff. Average wait time. Average prices. The food portions were a bit more than we expected though. Nice, big, Midwest hungry man plate sizes. We ordered a little bit of everything for breakfast. Good biscuits and gravy. Good ham. Good sausage. Good bacon. Pancakes weren't the greatest. Eggs were a little undercooked for our taste. Light and buttery and fluffy, they just could have been left on a minute longer. But again. Everything tasted like it should. A decent place to go if you're hungry. Not great food but not bad either. Average. You will leave feeling full and good about yourself and life and that's all that really matters anyway, isn't it?

Lots of food for little price. Who doesn't like omlettes, eggs, cinnamon toast, and fresh fruit? Gyros are good. Only open for breakfast and lunch.

Always go to this breakfast place when in town visiting family. Much better food than you'd pay a lot more for elsewhere, served in an honest, authentic hometown diner. Real fresh fruit as option on breakfast platter, not frozen or from a can. Pancake batter must be home-made. Eggs scrambled properly, not overdone. Staff are attentive and fast.

Good food; very slow service. Tables near front door get the freeze draft. Window sill and blinds by table incredibly dirty. We feel the decent food outweighs or at least balances the negatives.

Been coming here for a few years, and more so since the Saline Inn burned down. Food is good, and up to today, service has been satisfactory. Was seated and provided drinks and menu. 15 minutes later, I walked up to the counter and asked (nicely) if my server would be coming by. A few employees were there, and one said "yes". I mentioned I'd been waiting for 15 minutes. A curt response "I'm coming". Not a response I expected. No apology from anyone. We left without ordering. I'm sure I'll be going back as food and service are fine most of the time. Maybe next time the mood will be better.

Good food, friendly staff, decent prices, what more could you ask for? The portions are generally large, so come in hungry.
