I booked City Nest Apartments via Booking.com about four weeks before my stay.
This property has no reception, and check-in requires an additional online registration. Unfortunately, I did not receive any registration form during the entire four weeks after booking. I only got it after calling the property 28 hours before check-in. The agent told me that Booking.com had not provided them with my phone number or email, which I found surprising.
I completed the registration within an hour. I was told that my registration would be reviewed the same night or the next morning and that I would then receive the access code. However, nothing happened until two hours before check-in, when I had to call again. Only then was my registration approved and the code sent by email.
The check-in process was stressful and poorly organized, especially for a self-check-in property.
That said, the apartment itself was very nice. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything needed to cook properly. The king-size bed was comfortable, and despite the relatively small size (19 m²), it was sufficient for two people to move around comfortably. A few coffee cups would have been a nice addition, but that is a minor personal preference.
The location is excellent—very close to the city center. There is a Tesco just two minutes away, and the view includes the Franz Kafka Rotating Head, which was a pleasant surprise.
I stayed for four nights over the weekend. On the last night, the internet stopped working, and there was loud noise from other guests in the corridor around 00:30 AM, despite quiet hours being listed as 22:00–6:00. Additionally, the elevator was occasionally blocked by large bottles of oil and rice, possibly for a restaurant, which was inconvenient.
Overall, I liked the apartment and the location, but there are clearly several areas that need improvement—especially the check-in process, which I found inappropriate and unreliable for an accommodation without reception
