I have had cancer twice, I have been treated many places, and city of Hope is hands down the most amazing place that I have ever been. They are all about patient care and making sure that we are safe, comfortable, heard, and know that we are important. Every single person who works here makes you feel like you are family and they take care of you like you are. I got an allogenic stem cell transplant here with Dr. Aldoss and Maria Motta and I am so grateful for them. So grateful to every nurse on the 6th floor who took care of me during the hardest moment of my life, Rachel the activities coordinator who made it such a wonderful and fun experience whenever she was able to, the cleaning staff who always made sure I was in a sanitary environment while I had no immune system and always checked to see how I was feeling every single day. I also was apart of an AYA zoom support group with Stella who led it that was so amazing. I have dealt with GVHD post transplant and Dr. Aldoss and Maria have been so on top of it with helping manage everything. Any time I have had a problem, they always have a solution. And we can message them through the patient portal, they usually respond the same day. I also stayed in the hotel after I was released from the hospital and it is SO nice. It had a microwave, stove, oven, fridge and freezer, all the plates forks knives cups bowls pots and pans were there for us to use, a bed, a pullout bed couch for the care taker, two tvs, a closet for storage, etc. and the restaurant is a little pricey but some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. I love you city of Hope. Thank you for making a horrible thing to go through into such a positive and uplifting experience. I couldn’t imagine being with anyone else but you.
