City Park

Fantastic place to stroll and just relax. The glass house was just beautiful, a girl can dream lol. There was a brass or similar band setting up in the gazebo when we were there, but we didn’t stay to listen. We went to cheek out the monkeys we spent some time just watching them play and groom each other. There’s some steep entrance points to the park but there’s ramps and slopes so fairly accessible. We got there around 10am and left about 12pm road parking was full by then.

Very pretty and well maintained park, with a fun monkey enclosure. Opening times don't necessarily match what is advertised, and the monkey enclosure was closed at 4.30pm on Saturday. But we managed to see the monkeys in action on Tuesday morning. Beautiful flowers and grounds too.

Very nice little city park which is beautiful design and maintained. Grass area is very well maintained. Children’s playground has some nice structures for kids to climb and play! The only thing that I don’t really enjoyed is the Japanese macaque exhibit. I am feeling so bad for those monkeys which the enclosure is way too small for so many of them! I hope the city of Launceston can do something about this!

A quiet, free little park, it's a perfect spot for taking photos; you'll find plenty of photogenic spots. The buildings all have a local character, making it quite unique and definitely worth a visit.

Great park to wander around with lots of grassed area and benches for sitting on. Has a Japanese Macaques enclosure that will keep you entralled at their cheeky behaviour, a couple of rotundas, and a beautiful arboretum.

Good walk.along the park. Very well maintained. Pretty both day time and during sunset. Japanese monkeys zoo available before 4 pm.

I wish I'd had more time to spend here. It was beautiful. I particularly liked the Sensory Garden. I was there between rain showers and it smelt beautiful. City Park is easily within walking distance of the centre of Launceston, we walked here with coffee. The Japanese Macaques are fun to watch. If you want to go somewhere to spend a few minutes this is a good place they will amuse adults and children alike.

Most other sites give this 5 stars and I can't disagree. Plenty of beautiful green space with large, old trees and beautiful flower gardens. There are duck and fish ponds, a large chess set, "train" for the kids, play areas, and nice side walks for running, walking, or riding. And of course a great collection of entertaining monkies!

Centrally located and a great spot for families. This is one of the finest parks we have ever visited as lots to see and explore. The monkey display was a hit for the kids. Worth visiting whilst in Launceston.
