This is a whimsical escape for all ages. The meticulously sculpted shrubs and flowers are true works of art, captivating both children and adults. As you wander through the garden's winding paths, you'll also encounter wild swans, ducks, and other birds, adding to the charm and serenity of the place. Hidden benches offer peaceful respite, perfect for birdwatching or simply enjoying the garden's tranquility. A delightful mix of classic and contemporary designs ensures there's something for everyone. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this hidden gem in City Park is a must-see. Don't forget your camera, as the vibrant colors and playful shapes provide endless photo opportunities. The topiary garden is a testament to the creativity and dedication of the park's staff, and a testament to the beauty of nature.

The City Park Topiary is a living sign for City Park. The severe Summer drought has not been kind but it is clearly visible. I feel this is a very good testimony to the grounds keepers in the park. They do a wonderful job keeping things clean, picked up and tidy over a huge area.

I love city park! Just if you could please put up some bigger trash cans so the trash doesn't go all over the place! Mini dumpsters would be great! At least for the weekends and holidays.

Google maps took us to the middle of a field by the singing tree and told us "you've arrived". There was nothing there.

Better side of the park, many other surrounded by half-demolished buildings.

Yelp
This my second place that my Husband took me to with my recovery. City Park is So peaceful. The Trees are just beautiful. Also the Ducks are stunning.

Yelp
City Park is so beautiful! We came across it trying to find a suitable area to charge one of our cars (2 EV stations located in two different locations within the park). While we waited, we decided to take a walk around and explore! There is so much offered within the park grounds for the community to enjoy, such as the children's museum, the outdoor gym circuit, places to rent a boat or buggy to ride within the park, and little gardens within the park that feature various themes of art sculptures & green spaces created within.

Yelp
City Park is a huge park in New Orleans. It is easily one of largest parks I have ever been to. The first thing that caught my eye are the moss trees. These trees are massive, with this moss hanging off the branches. It gives a spooky vibe, it isn't wise to touch the moss, as it could cause blisters and irritation to your skin. Unfortunately due to time restrictions, I didn't get to experience all parts of City Park. This Park is home to one of the locations of the New Orleans' legendary Cafe Du Monde. It is also where one may find the Sculpture Garden, which was unfortunately closed on the day we were here. For the youngest park goers, there are a few ways to keep them entertained. There's the Children's Museum, the Carousel, Celebration in the Oaks, which is the Christmas Lights drive through. What's a park without a playground? Of course there a few of them here too! Adults have countless ways to stay fit. There's golf, disc golf, tennis, and a nice scenic walk through this park would do anyone plenty of good. City Park is a great place to play, learn, see, relax and enjoy New Orleans.

Yelp
It's always a hit here. Beautiful and serene as usual. Rather you're coming to walk, reflect, appreciate the arts, or grab a bite to eat, City Park is perfect for it all.

Yelp
Make City Park a destination on your trip as it's the best attraction not involving food, alcohol, ghosts, or marshmallow-eating alligators. The 170 year old park is 1,300 acres (1 x 3 miles), bigger than Central Park (843) and Golden Gate Park (1,017). Aside from Fairmount Park in Philly, the only larger parks are national parks, state parks (Alaska, New York, and LA ) or a collection of parks (Cleveland). 819 species of birds have been documented there, all of them likely fried at one point. Go for the largest grove of mature live oaks in the world, some of which are nearly 800 years old, and the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden (separate review) outside the Museum of Art. That alone is worth the trip. Rent bikes and ride the Zemurray Multi-Use Trail, a three-quarter-mile trail surrounding the Big Lake, featuring the wind chime-filled Singing Oak. Or rent swan boats and enter the lake. There's also a golf course, a disc golf course, an equestrian center, and multiple fishing sites (w/ license). You can eat at seven restaurants, including a Cafe de Monde. Other attractions: $6: Storyland children's park $12: City Putt (36 hole NOLA-themed Mini Golf) $12: New Orleans Botanical Garden (10 acres/2000 varieties of plants) $15 : New Orleans Museum of Art $15 : weekly pass at City Bark (4.6 acre Dog Park) $18: Louisiana Children's Museum (includes Storyland) $25 : Carousel Gardens Theme Park (18 rides) Free: Oscar J Tolmas Visitor Center (rumor has it he's really Oscar A Tolmas but when he opened his visitor center, the name was already taken) Free: Couturie Forest (30 acres of eight distinct ecosystems). Shoutout to the website who noted it contains NOLA's highest point of elevation: Laborde Mountain--- "Measuring a daunting 27 feet above sea level, oxygen and sherpas are available upon request."

Yelp
What. A. PARK. It's huge. Massive. We only did the south side to see the incredible historic oak grove. And WOW, was that worth the visit. I took a ton of pictures, but so does everyone else, sooooo... I only posted 3 and go check out other pictures and THEN go see these incredible, massive oaks in person!!

Yelp
My daughter was insistent that we go to City Park. It actually accomplished two things, first we got to ride the streetcars in New Orleans and second, we got to walk several miles and enjoy the amazing park! Gorgeous Park and it is huge, so wear your walking shoes. I feel like this is the place where there is something for everyone. It was a lovely day with warm weather, 92° with 62% humidity, but my crew went hard. I love that they have a Cafe Du Monde in the park so you can still get delicious beignets while skipping the line. The children's amusement park looked like a great place for people with kids looking to get them out of the typical New Orleans life without having to go far. If you are a visitor, don't miss the City Park. For the record (we looked) it is larger than Central Park, in New York, and it has more to do/see, not taking anything away from Central Park, just saying!

Yelp
Fun spot for the whole family Lots of seasonal and holiday events are held here a must see in the city and beautiful in the spring

Yelp
One of my favorite places in New Orleans. You could spend 3-4 days exploring every thing it has to offering. There are events and art markets constantly in the main area by Cafe Du Monde and the pavilion, the gardens and museum are beautiful, and it's such a beautiful piece of land. I will have to review each piece to do it justice. If you are visiting, you want to give this a look.

Yelp
Yelp Review 2024 #58: A nice place to visit for free! Lots of things to see and do. Located on acres upon acres of land - you can relax, walk around, run, fish, birdwatch, people watch, paint, meditate, have a picnic, take your kids to the playground/ amusement, take your dog to the dog park (City Bark), visit the botanical garden or the sculpture garden or the art museum. You can easily spend a whole day here. I walked around to see Popp's Bandstand, greenery, bridges, ducks, and outdoor sculptures. The only problems were there were mosquitoes and it also rained but I had an umbrella. But nothing protected me from the mosquitoes. I had intended to spend at least half a day here but I had to take the L and walk away from mosquitoes after getting welts the size of dollar coins. I didn't get to go to the art museum which probably would have been the smarter thing to visit since it's indoors and mosquito-free. But I was already too itchy to think. However, I still got to see a lot of such a big park that's bigger than New York's Central Park. Bring an umbrella, bug spray, drinking water, and wear comfortable shoes (preferably water-proof or something that washes/ dries easily).

Yelp
Larger than New York City's Central Park, New Orleans' City Park is iconic. Taking the 48 streetcar from near the Warehouse District, the ride took around 30 minutes. Once inside the park, we spent several hours enjoying a few of the kids sites before heading to our hotel. We barely scratched the surface. Our seven-year-old loved every minute in the park from finding turtles and cranes in the swamp-like water with beautiful trees from riding the rides at the amusement park. (Her ticket was $21 for unlimited rides and around $12.14 per parent. Senior citizen tickets cost $11.32. Next to the amusement park is Storyland, a $6 fenced playground inspired by famous children's books. My daughter's favorite parts were the large slide and the Candy Lane game. Next, we strolled through the botanical gardens and sculpture before stopping at Cafe du Monde's City Park location. It's less busy and still sells their famous beignets.

Yelp
I love City Park. I've spent so much of time here and I still can't get enough. From leisurely walks to being pulled around by my puppy baby Ginger, and picnicking on Big lake or peddling the swans in the evening. I love it here! I particularly love spring mornings that I can walk around and smell the flowers blooming. I enjoy the botanical and sculpture gardens, with all of its gorgeous flora and history. I'm a huge lover of art and history. NOMA marries the two so well and always has new exhibits to visit. City park is definitely one of my favorite green spaces. No matter how old the trees are, City Park will never get old in my mind.
google avatar

Carlos G.

Yelp
The City Park is beautiful and well worth a walk around. Check out the historic oak trees along the south end of the park, some of which are hundreds of years old. You can also swing by the Cafe du Monde in the park to grab a snack while you walk.
google avatar

Yelp
City Park is absolute gorgeous and huge. I've been there twice and both times, I've had an extremely unique experience because of being in different parts of the park. I recently rented bikes from Wheel Fun to ride around, but I didn't love the immediate area around the rental as much as I loved some of the other parts, especially with the hanging trees. It's an uber or train car away from Bourbon Street, but it's not far at all and worth the visit.
google avatar

Tammy S.

Yelp
A beautiful park that you can spend the entire day in. We took a stroll along the water after grabbing coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde. The sculpture garden is a 5 star attraction and not to be missed. The grounds are beautiful and make you feel like you are out of the city. The sculptures are varied in type, meaning, date made, and interpretation. I've never seen such a wonderful sculpture garden with sculptures that gave us so much to talk about. Fabulous place to visit and get outside in nature in the city.

Yelp
City Park is one of my favorite places in Nola to take visitors or just spend an afternoon in peaceful solitude. There are attractions for all ages, many of which are free. Walking paths, jungle gyms, playing field, and a sculpture garden along the river are some of the free options. There's also mini-golf, a botanical garden, art museum, an old-timey train and cafe du monde!
google avatar

Anna B.

Yelp
A nice park to walk around! There is a sculpture garden, museum, Cafe Du Monde location, and a mini boardwalk area near the lake.
google avatar

Michael Y.

Yelp
Very relaxing and large park. I am very fond of animals, and besides the ducks, which I spent half a day feeding (sorry Mother Nature), I also found a cat in the Botanical gardens in the model set train place, and it was very friendly and rubbed against my legs upon first greeting. The art museum is surprisingly diverse for NOLA (maybe I am underestimating), They have pretty good food as well in the cafe, and the overall museum is just beautiful. Thank you donors. Btw, not sure if this is a NOLA thing, because the WW2 museum was also absolutely freezing, and so was the Art Museum here. Maybe people just like a chilly 60F indoors.
google avatar

Brian F.

Yelp
Away from the French Quarter and Bourbon Street is 1,300 acres of a wide variety of other kinds of entertainment that you don't find downtown. The NOLA City Park is home to the New Orleans Botanical Garden, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Couturie Forest and Arboretum, the Sculpture Garden, and the Louisiana Children's Museum. Other activities include tennis courts, hiking and walking trails, a golf course, and football and baseball fields. Even just driving through we saw so much green grass and space to do whatever your heart desires. We saw people parked on the side of the road and fishing. There was ample parking all throughout the park and everything was in great condition. During Hurricane Katrina, 90% of the park was flooded and there were millions of dollars in damages. Judging by what it looks like now you would've never known. This is a great park and you could find yourself here for hours.

Yelp
Love coming to this amazing park! Walked through the sculpture area and the grandkids played in the playground. They really enjoyed climbing on the trees. I just love this park. I wish we had one like it in Alabama.
google avatar

Tabitha C.

Yelp
This park is enchanting! The majestic oak trees. The picturesque Spanish moss dripping from the trees. The waterways and stone foot bridges. I liked this park so much that, when I was trying to figure out where my now-husband and I were going to get married, this is the place I chose. We had our ceremony in front of those iconic oak trees. Then, we had pictures taken around the park. It was perfect for us! My husband and I have been back to visit City Park on anniversary trips to New Orleans. On one trip, we explored the Sculpture Garden. I expected to zip right through, but it was so interesting, it captivated our attention. We got caught up in it longer than I thought we would. There are so many photo opportunities in this park! City Park is worth the visit!
google avatar

Melissa N.

Yelp
Bigger than Central Park NYC and absolutely breathtaking a must place to visit...and there's also a Cafe Du Monde! Get away from Bourbon Street and the French Quarter to experience this park that cleanses the soul.
google avatar

Emmerson H.

Yelp
Always love city park. Great year round. The scenery is so nice and NOMA is neat too. The gardens/lakes are all gorgeous.

Yelp
A NOLA treasure! I feel like so many people visit New Orleans and do not know City Park exists. Maybe this is OK- maybe tourists who are dead-set and focused on the Bourbon St. experience deserve not to know about it. For the rest of you, listen up: this park is a must-see and if you live here, do go as often as your little heart desires. There are a bunch of ways to pull up to it and explore, but we typically drive up the main way to the museum and park by that lawn to the side of the pond with swan boats (yes! They have swan boats! And gondolas!) This way, you're close to the intriguing sculpture garden and you'll definitely want to stroll through that area. You're also close to the botanical gardens, a new favorite of mine (separate review). There's a lot to explore and do. I feel like I barely scratched the surface. If activity is your thing, plenty of workout areas, paths and more. Frisbee golf (never even knew what that was but apparently it's a thing!) Bayous and ponds. My husband has been known to find secret areas to fish. There's the children's museum and areas to picnic with grills and shelter from the elements. But we like to just stroll under the oak trees and take in the sheer beauty of this park. You don't have to spend a dime to enjoy much of its offerings.
google avatar

Yelp
I recently visited one of the most beautiful parks I've ever seen in my life. The park was absolutely stunning, from the lush green grass to the towering trees. It was one of those parks where you can just walk around freely and feel safe and at peace. I felt like I left a part of my heart at the park. I was there during the big July 4th concert, and it was so nice to see everyone out and about enjoying the park. There were families having picnics, couples walking hand-in-hand, and children playing on the playground. It was a truly magical experience.
google avatar

Cole C.

Yelp
This park is GORGEOUS! Majestic oak trees, stone bridges, ponds with ducks (and alligators!)... just beautiful. It's also HUGE, so I feel like we only broke the surface of it before my kids' little legs were spent. If there is a place nearby to rent bikes, this would be a great option to see more of the park. FYI the playground itself sucks. Which is fine - I didn't want to spend my time there anyway - but if your kids think "play structure" when you say "park" and they are from any big city outside of New Orleans, I think they will be disappointed by what City Park has to offer. But do not fear! There is PLENTY else to climb and explore in the park - just skip the playground. We took the bus to the park and the streetcar back. Wish we had a full day here!
google avatar

Hunter S.

Yelp
We have been here a few times. Once we just strolled the beautiful, oak filled grounds, after enjoying a street car ride, which leads right up to the park. Once while perusing the sculpture garden near NOMA. The sculptures are so cool! My favorite is the replicating silver man that seems to stretch to the sky. Once we visited while parading around the Christmas lights show, "Celebration in the Oaks," which is located in the botanical garden section of the park. Thousands of twinkling lights to dazzle you at night! This is a wondrous, expansive space with a little bit of everything for everyone. There are ponds, streams, bridges, seating areas. It's worth a long stroll during your trip, including a trip over to NOMA.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
City Park is one of New Orleans' great treasures. The natural beauty is superb, and there's a surprising amount of stuff to do in the park that isn't just walking through nature. We always feel safe when we go there, and there are plenty of facilities should you find yourself needing a bathroom, a snack, or a sashay through the city's art gallery.
google avatar

Philip L.

Yelp
Lovely place for the whole family under majestic oaks. Great for pictures, kids (especially with the playground next to Cafe du Monde), and relaxed time with friends and family. I also think the Cafe du Monde beignets taste the best here (other than the flagship downtown original location). Occasionally there can be a few large tour buses dropping loads of folks at the Cafe du Monde, so try to beat the rush if them pull up in the parking lot.
google avatar

Alexandra E.

Yelp
Love coming to City Park to sit or just go on a walk! So beautiful and lots of things to see.
google avatar

Ray F.

Yelp
There are city parks all over the planet, but the New Orleans City park is the one you want to visit at different times of the year, different seasons and different weather! Each time, it seems a little bit new and different and yet still has that special New Orleans flare and flavor! There are trees, meadows, attractions for kids, parks with playgrounds for kids, places your dog will love, museums, and a Café du Monde. Lots of parking! Overall, it tends to take the Big Easy city a bit slower and easier! Rain, sun, winter, summer, kids, a date, friends or strangers... You have to come and see for yourself!

Yelp
City Park is one of THE oldest & largest urban parks at 1300 acres in the country andd you'll need an entire day to visit all that it has to offer ~ it's absolutely beautiful!! Inside the Park you'll find: the Sculpture Garden, the Botanical Garden, Couturie Forest and Arboretum, the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA), the Louisiana Children's Museum, City Putt Miniature Golf, Disc Golf or 18-holes of Golf, Storyland, Carousel Garden Amusement Park, NOLA City Bark, Pepsi Tennis Center, Café Du Monde, Fishing, Boat && Bike rentals plus endless amount of trails, bike and running paths, green space and many other hidden gems worth exploring.  We thoroughly enjoyed City Park, exploring the beauty within the city andd the peaceful moments we spent inside enjoying the Sculpture Garden, Café Du Monde, City Putt Putt Miniature Golf, riding bikes, the Singing Tree, this magical, unique oasis that was lined with hundreds of year old Oak trees and plenty to keep the day's adventure delightful and fun. This is a MUST...so go explore andd enjoy!!

Yelp
Wow! This place is absolutely stunning and definitely can be hours full of activities to do in this park. I loved the trees and the areas that was so picturesque. I saw a lot of families coming out taking pictures over the bridges. The low bridges I saw photographers take pictures for cap and gown photos and couples. It was a place where everybody can come and enjoy the park . There were people having picnics. There are people enjoying the ducks in the ponds. People biking is something for everyone and it is gigantic. This is the place where we took our gondola rise and it was absolutely amazing
google avatar

Yelp
This is a really great park. Beautiful, well-maintained, and walkable. Easy access by bus or streetcar. There's an on-site Cafe du Monde with half of the wait-time as the original as well. The sculpture garden is FANTASTIC and FREE. I am not even the world's biggest fan of metal sculptures TBH, but the ones on display here run the gamut and the common denominator for inclusion seems to be that it is interesting. Some really, really great pieces you can literally see for free while getting some steps in. There is also the city art museum, which is not free (but affordable), but alas we did not have time to tour it.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
A must for families! We came for the NOMA Egg Hunt but ended up staying and exploring the park. Went to the Sculpture Gardens, the Children's museum, road bikes around. It was great fun! Could spend all day there and a Cafe Du Monde too boot!

Yelp
Had a brief visit to city Park on a recent trip to New Orleans. We were on a city tour, and this was one of the stops. The plan was to go to Café Du monde, but when we arrived the power was out and was not expected to be on for another 30 minutes. Unfortunately we were only staying for 15 to 20 minutes so that was not going to work. However I did get to look around a small section of the park, and I really wish we had more time. We planned to return to spend more time there since it's such a nice park, and there seemed like there was so much to do, but as usual time ran out while we were visiting. Our tour guide mentioned that this park was many times the size of Central Park in New York City - I think he said seven times larger if I'm not mistaken, and I guess that is because when you are driving through the park some sections of it make you think you're back in a nearby neighborhood but it's actually still land within City Park. There's some nice scenery here, and it is a great area for a photo shoot; actually we learned that one of the attractions that we passed inside the park is often used for photo shoots and I can understand why. I definitely hope to return again someday.

Yelp
City Park is an often-forgotten destination in New Orleans. It gets overshadowed by the riverfront and all of the attractions downtown, but is a short and inexpensive trolley ride away and worth the trip. People like to say that City Park is larger than NYC's Central Park, and that may be technically true (which is the best kind of true), but they don't say that it includes a golf course and sports fields, so it feels like its cheating a little bit. Regardless, there's still a lot to do at City Park. Most of it is walking around. The live oaks are amazing and picturesque. The ponds are teeming with life and offer plenty of sedate vantage points to view the birds, alligators, and turtles that inhabit them. The sculpture gardens are well-kept and interesting. The park also provides large, open fields for games and play. Businesses and specialty areas (like Storyland) are available as well, but check the hours to make sure they're open when you plan to visit. City Park is a great respite from the rest of NOLA and a nice change of pace.
google avatar

Trisha W.

Yelp
It's like Central Park had a baby with New Orleans and made City Park. Absolutely one of the highlights of our NoLa trip. The sculpture garden, free, absolutely stunning. Usually sculpture gardens are boring to me, they're nice but just fall flat. So I wasn't really excited for this sculpture garden. Oh my goodness. We easily spent 2 hours here exploring the sculpture garden. It was just so well curated, beautifully laid out a nice balance with structure and nature, loved all the oak trees. Loved all the sculptures which was a nice balanced curation of classic Rodans and Grecian art to contemporary artists and iconic modern art. If you were to visit the sculpture garden alone you would be satisfied. The singing oak tree was so beautiful. It's a gem. I loved the chimes and how transient and transcending this moment was. So stunning. Overall safe park. Lots of active healthy people walking, jogging, tons of families and friends picnicking and strolling. Absolutely recommend this. Also it was just up from Willie Mae's so we had to. There is a cafe du monde right outside the sculpture garden and if we weren't so full we would've gone. It looked so picturesque and quaint. A whole different vibe from the French Quarters location. Looked very charming.

Yelp
While visiting New Orleans, had a chance to visit City Park, while on a tour of the city. I wish we had more time to enjoy the park, which we were told is as much as 8 to 10 times larger than Central Park in New York City! While riding through the park there were many attractions for pictures, sightseeing, and other destinations. We stopped at Café Du monde, one of the locations in city Park. Unfortunately, the power was out so we were unable to purchase any beignets there. In city Park, there is also a venue for concerts, horse stables and equestrian trails, as well as tennis and basketball courts. It's a really great park to spend the day in and just chill out! If you are ever in New Orleans and have the chance to visit City Park, don't miss out!
google avatar

Vichet O.

Yelp
Not to be missed. Grabbed a NOLA Blue Bike (think Citibike or any rentable bike) and biked a meandering 6 mile stretch through the entire park (mostly because I kept taking wrong turns at circles) and just loved every different section of the place. Buskers add to an already picturesque expanse full of gorgeous live oaks and landscapes, a big ole paddleboat pond, and a really great statue garden. There's also the museum, which I'll cover in a different review. Come here, wander (or bike) for a few hours, and just enjoy the life and liveliness of the scene.
google avatar

Ivy S.

Yelp
Hidden gem and a stone's throw from the French Quarter, this park whisks you away into an hundred-year-old oak forest with modern amenities like playgrounds, clean bathrooms, & art museums! *There's a Café Du Monde tucked in that serves up beignets as good (or better) than the French Market location with the dominance of locals eating here* Historic stone bridges dating back to 1907 that you can still walk upon and gaze over meandering rivers with swans, fish, and sparrows- well worth a short streetcar ride for a glimpse of New Orleans natural splendor. Best public transportation to get here- Streetcar 48 City Park/Muse line takes you right up to the park!

Yelp
I love this park! We were only here for a short time because it was part of a 20 mins stop from a private bus tour. It is a big and beautiful park! They said it is double the size of Central Park in NY. We stopped at the Cafe Du Monde section, where all the beautiful oak trees with drapes of Spanish mosses were. The cafe in the park is spacious, has a gift shop, and there was no line. The pond near the cafe is gorgeous and there is a bridge. There is a zoo inside the park also. I would love to come here and spend a whole day if I could!

Yelp
Absolutely stunning! Super impressive, reminds of Balboa. Very large. Beautiful botanical grounds. Something for everyone!

Yelp
Gorgeous park and it is huge. I feel like this is the place where there is something for everyone. I have been to Nola numerous times but this was my first time going to city park and I'm already looking forward to going back. It was a lovely day with great weather. I love that they have a Cafe Du Monde in the park so you can still get delicious beignets while skipping the line. The children's amusement park looked like a great place for people with kids looking to get them out of the typical New Orleans life without having to go far. We walked the entire park from main entrance to the side that puts you out near the catacombs. There were thousands of people here having crawfish boils, birthday parties, and some even brought bouncy castles. Next visit we definitely plan to picnic here.
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
A beautiful place outside of the French Quarter that boasts a beautiful park, playground, and garden. It was the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon.
google avatar

Jenny S.

Yelp
You need to designate a few hours to the park because it is huge! I feel like I barely saw any of it in the hour that I was there. There were so many activities there. The scenery was beautiful. I even saw an alligator. The sculpture garden was interesting as well. I would love to go to the botanical gardens because it looked beautiful while I was passing them. There was a lake at one end of the park that I didn't get to venture to. They even had a cafe du monde there. This was a cool park and a fun find!

Yelp
Love the park. It's a hot day but what a beautiful walk and beautiful trees within the park. Stopped to take photos and ended at Cafe Du Monde for an iced coffee and beignets.

Yelp
Huge, beautiful park, with grassy lawns, trees dripping w/ Spanish moss, lakes, ponds, water features, trails, old carousel, playgrounds, Art Museum, Childrens museum, botanical gardens and more. We took the red Streetcar here, then walked all around, including the sculpture garden. The botanical garden was closed today (Monday, Tuesday), but would love to check it out another time.

Yelp
There is really nothing I can say that hasnt been said before 1000 times. This IS THE BEST PARK IN THE WORLD. Thats it. Nuff said. You want to get away from everyone? Bring a blanket, your radio, some food and a pillow and pick a tree to snooze under. There is so much room here, no one will bother you. Wanna get freaky out there? Same thing. Millions of places to do that. Want to experience rabid racoons, City Park has that covered too. My fav sight is seeing the huge families gather for BBQs. I see that and wonder why I cant get a group like that together for some fun times. Just go if you haven't been. Just go and enjoy it for everything it has to offer.
