The acoustics was wonderful. I took my daughter to hear Mary Beard speak. She was a wonderful historian who spoke with in depth knowledge and a touch of humour. The event itself was very well organised

This is a really great space and quite intimate. We were there for the ABC program ‘The Piano’ and it was ideal for that. I don’t think that there would be any bad seats no matter where you sat. The piano playing and other instruments sounded so clean and clear. Definitely go again for another performance.

I had no idea the Sydney Recital Hall even existed—until we mistakenly parked at the Opera House for a Sydney Symphony performance and had to make a mad dash uphill to the actual venue! Thankfully, the staff at the Hall were calm, attentive, and incredibly helpful. Even though we arrived late, they guided us on when and how to enter without disrupting the performance. The venue offers drinks, ice cream, and light snacks, which added a nice touch. The seats are a little on the firm side, but the acoustics are excellent and the layout ensures a clear view from almost anywhere in the hall. A beautiful, intimate venue worth discovering—just double-check your tickets first!

We gathered for Mozart's Clarinet performance 🎼🎷 featuring a breathtaking trio of a pianist 🎹, cheloist 🎻 and clarinettist 🎶 playing some of Mozart's best works 👑🪄✨ 🎵 The clarinettist—my word—was a revelation 😮👏. Such breath control 😮‍💨, such lyricism 🎼💫! The instrument practically wept 😢 in joy and sorrow 🕊️🎶. The venue itself, the Sydney Recital Hall 🏛️🎟️, continues to be a beacon of cultural excellence 🇦🇺🌟. Entry was seamless 🚶‍♂️🚪, The theatre’s acoustics were absolutely marvellous 🎧💯—each note rang out crystal clear 💎🎶, like silver bells on a frosty morning 🔔❄️🎼. Admittedly, the fire safety stairwell 🚨🧯 did smell a bit peculiar 🤨 something between damp carpet 🧼🧽 and burnt toast 🍞🔥 but the graffiti art 🎨🖌️, waz Koolio 😎🎉 Once inside, the hall opened up like a warm embrace 🤗✨. Plush seating 🪑, grand archways 🏰, and a soft golden glow 💡🌟 filled the room with elegance 👒🎻🕯️. Fr tho 💯 overall very nice clean hall 🧼🧹 they got some cinema price snacks 🍿🥤 and ngl tbh stmo 🤝

My friend and I went to see Paris Paloma and all the staff were super lovely and helpful. Specifically Blake, he made the night and the experience one to remember. This place should be really proud of the people that they have employed.

City Recital Hall is one of the best spots in Sydney for all sorts of performative culture. From classical to choral music to live electronic music and raves.

I came here for an orchestra night. The place is very nice and glamorous. The sound system here is very good, you can feel so relaxed with the music played by the orchestra group. The place is easy to get access to by public transport. Very easy to find with google map. All the staff are friendly and very well-organised.

Google
A brilliant venue where you get close and personal with the performers and there are no bad seats. Tickets are great value and they have so many great artists putting on shows. I much prefer this to the mega arenas where you're basically watching giant TVs because the performers are so far away.

Yelp
First, directions. I wandered up and down Martin Place looking pathetically lost in my fancy togs being eyed up by diseased looking pigeons when I tried to find the place. I'll try to save you from that. George Street end of Martin Place, take a right after Armani, down the stairs. Once you make it down the stairs, there's the little laneway of Angel Place, and bang, the Recital Hall is right in front of you and you wonder how you could possibly have not known it was there all along. As a friend and I were here to see some Terribly Posh Classical Music, we brushed pointed elbows with society ladies out for the afternoon's culture and who were determined to get to the tea/champagne/serendipity icecream first at intermission. Gotta watch out for women of a certain age, killer elbow jabs. Bruising aside, we had a lovely afternoon, music was divine, the acoustics great, and perched up in a little box we had a perfect view of the musicians. And them of us. Upon discussion later, we both thought the very intense German cellist looked in our direction far too much of the time than was randomly warranted. We took it as a compliment. If you get an invite here, take it up, German cellists or no.

Yelp
This downtown concert hall was built to host western classical music. I suppose it might be acoustically very good for that, but it seems far less so for the rock and pop acts that they also book here. The sound is cold and pristine, with none of the boom or fuzziness that (I think) enhances modern live music. It's a relatively new, very pretty, well-laid out venue, though. It looks good, has good facilities, and gets classy acts.

Yelp
I've always wanted to visit Angel Place Recital Hall. I don't know why, I guess it'd make me sound a touch high brow. Anyway I finally got to visit it two times in one week. I admit the first time was for a work seminar so it wasn't the most exciting 8 hours of my life (Yes EIGHT hours!) but I did get to admire the comfortable seats, the inside of the building and it got me excited for when I'd be coming here a few days later to see a gig. When the night arrived I was an old pro, I knew where I had to go and even though my ticket said "limited view" I got to see a great show with a pretty unlimited view (there was a pillar that blocked a couple of things). The point is I got to go to the Angel Place Recital Hall and I can't wait to go back.. unless it's another work seminar!
