Very good value and excellent location. Doung on reception is very cheerful and couldn't be more helpful. Minor criticisms: the cornflakes box at breakfast to be placed where it's obvious that guests are meant to use it; bring your own devices as television is restricted to a few local channels ( blame the government of the hotel).|Food: excellent little restaurant right next door and another trendier place a few doors up the road in the other direction.

Really good hotel with an interesting room design 😊 Despite the heavy wooden furniture, it's actually really good! The rooftop pool is big with enough lounge chairs around. Open till 10 pm, but we stayed till 10.20, no one bothered us. The staff is very polite and understanding. Highly recommend!

If you want a beautiful, friendly welcome back each day and a quick trip to the old markets, then this is your venue. The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make the experience one of great quality. ||Our rooms were serviced each day with fresh bottled water and towels. The rooms were very spacious and the air conditioning worked well. ||The beds are on the harder side, and the pillows were incredible to ensure a great sleep. ||We loved spending time at the rooftop pool which has outdoor showers and undercover seating for comfort at any time of day.||There is a lovely cafe beside the hotel for your morning coffees, and the markets are only a short walk away where you can find any food you could want. After this, there is also Pub Street within walking distance. There are also laundry services all around with a 1 day turn around for $1 per kilo.

I loved the homely feel of this, older style , somewhat outdated hotel. The rooms were comfortable yet in need of update, especially the power outlets and the bath with no plug and not much hot water. The rooftop pool was refreshing and plenty of area to relax. Staff did not speak much English yet did well to accommodate our requests and attempt to converse with us. I would happily stay there again.

We stayed at the City River hotel for 3 nights. On arrival, we were greeted by the loveliest staff member. She was incredibly sweet and very welcoming and the young lady that was with her give us a fresh cup of water and attempted to give us a cold face washer, but they were frozen together (which was fine, we all just laughed). The lady at reception advised us that our room had been upgraded, but on arrival in our room, it was clear that it was very dated, had no balcony (was advised it would have) and NO TV! Very weird. Only one of the 2 lifts worked. I popped down to reception to ask if we could have a TV, and she said that she would try and organise one for us. After approx 45 mins, my sister went down and asked if we could pay extra to have the balcony room we were promised and a TV. Credit to them, they did change rooms for us to a balcony room (very small balcony and no furniture on us, and it looked out to the apartments across the road) and organised a TV for us to be delivered to our new room. Once we were in the new room, the TV didn't work, so I went back down (as the phone didn't work at all) and was greeted by a man that didn't really understand english very well but I got the message through and he came up to the room with me and turned it on manually and advised that the TV was only internet, and there was no TV as such (brochures stated there was TV's that we could watch actual television show on), so he got Youtube up for us and we just watched various shows on Youtube. The room was very dated, but had everything we needed and was very clean. The internet was shocking and worked when it wanted to (or if I held my phone in the right spot) so we gave up on that as it constantly dropped out. The breakfast was very nice and there were plenty of options, and the staff were lovely. The pool and pool area were nice and clean and the pool itself was lovely to swim in. The beds were incredibly hard, but that was ok as they all appear to be the same. Would I stay here again? Probably not. Were the staff lovely? Yes, but didn't understand English very well (which again was ok given we are in their country). Location is in an excellent position. Food was good. Pool was good. Rooms and passage ways were very tired and dated and old but served the purpose.

It’s my first time travelling to Cambodia. I visited Siem Reap in October last month. I booked my accommodation via TripAdvisor since my friend recommended I stay at the City River Hotel in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It definitely exceeded my expectations of what my friend had told me about City River Hotel. The Hotel is located in the City Centre alongside the Siem Reap River which is just a short walk to Old Market and Pub Street. The hotel has a beautiful Khmer aesthetic mixed with modern designs. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I asked the staff about the popular tourist hotspots and they arranged a tour guide to show me around the beautiful city of Angkor. Plus, the room is very spacious and modern for the price which is very affordable with a free breakfast that is very delicious. I really liked the Cambodian noodle soup. There is also a rooftop pool shaped like a bottle on the sixth floor with a view of the beautiful city which is very rare to find in Siem Reap. I also had a cocktail in the rooftop bar. They also offer cable TV that has many national and international programs. They also have massaging services as well. I also ordered food at their restaurant. The food was very good and affordable. The AC is great for the heat in Siem Reap. If you want an affordable stay in Siem Reap that offers a city centre location and modern rooms, I would highly recommend staying at City River while you’re in Siem Reap.
