City View Hotel, Cairo — Excellent Value for Solo Travellers I stayed two nights at City View Hotel, after spending a few nights at a five-star property in the Nasr City area. Having experienced both, I can say City View offers far greater value for money — at nearly one-third the price. The hotel’s location is unbeatable: right in the heart of downtown Cairo, directly opposite the Egyptian Museum, with the Sadat Metro Station just a short walk away. Coptic Cairo lies about 3 km to the south, and Khan el-Khalili Bazaar around 3 km to the northeast. It’s easy to explore during the day, return to rest, and head out again in the evening. The Nile is just across the road, and rooms on the west side offer a lovely view of it. The rooms are modest but comfortable, with everything a tired traveller needs to rest and recover. The hot-water shower works perfectly, and the complimentary breakfast is a fixed set menu (see photo). Several cafés nearby serve excellent sandwiches and coffee. Overall, City View Hotel is a clean, convenient, and well-run budget option that delivers more than it promises. I would happily stay here again on my next visit to Cairo.

Yes It looks run down and beat from the outside but this is Egypt. Once you get inside it’s pretty nice and clean and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms are pretty good considering what you’re paying to be downtown and close to Tahrir Square. Breakfast is simple but nice. Lower your expectations and you’ll blend in nicely.

The hotel’s location is great and the breakfast was decent, but that’s about it. The toilet in my room was leaking, and when I asked to change rooms, the staff refused. Their lack of customer service was disappointing. Overall, you get what you paid for, so don’t expect much.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Cairo, the **City View Museum Hotel** offers a unique and inviting experience just a short stroll from the iconic Tahrir Square. This charming hotel is not part of the luxury chains, but rather a delightful local establishment where guests are treated like family. The warm and friendly staff create a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive. ||The hotel boasts an abundance of character, with well-appointed rooms that feature numerous power outlets and excellent lighting—an often overlooked detail that enhances your stay. While the amenities are straightforward, they are thoughtfully designed to meet your needs. You get a carefully prepared breakfast, ensuring a satisfying start to each day.||City View Museum Hotel also serves as a convenient base for exploring Cairo, with various excursions readily available for those looking to delve into the city's rich history and culture. Although I didn't take advantage of the excursion services, flexibility is a hallmark of their offerings. For travelers seeking an affordable yet comfortable place to stay in Cairo, where they can quickly feel at home, City View Museum Hotel is undoubtedly a fantastic choice.

This hotel exceeded expectations by far. I had booked it because of the location and price and having stayed there 5 days I am certain that I could not have found a better place to stay , even at a higher price.|The view of Tahir Square is unbeatable but the rooms and the service are exceptional. In all fairness the bathroom could do with updating but this is easily forgiven in view of the price. The hotel has a genuine Egyptian feel about it, and the breakfast on the balcony overlooking the square is an experience in itself.|All in all unbeatable at the price.

The manager and porter were lovely. Covid and subsequent neighboring country's unrest has really taken its toll on the country in genenersl. The hotel is doing their best with what they have to work with. The location is great and the amount they charge is fair. It is run down unfortately and the breakfast was extra basic. I didn't need much so the banana, yogurt and boiled egg worked. I felt very safe. Think hostel.

Nestled in the bustling heart of Tahrir, this charming gem of a stay proved to be an absolute delight! Despite its age, the building carries an inviting and mesmerizing character, a true testament to the timeless appeal of its surroundings. The room, a cozy haven amidst the lively pulse of the city, was spotless and well-kept, ensuring comfort that whispers of careful attention and warmth.||The staff, oh, they were the heart and soul of hospitality! Friendly doesn't quite capture their spirit; they were like guides, friends, and helpers all rolled into one, always ready with a smile and eager to make the stay not just excellent but unforgettable. Their approachability and assistance added an extra layer of ease and enjoyment to the whole experience, making it feel like finding a home away from home.||The location? Simply impeccable. Situated in Tahrir, it felt as though the city's vibrant life and attractions were at our doorstep, waiting to be explored. The convenience of being so close to the heart of the action yet able to retreat to a peaceful sanctuary was indeed the best of both worlds.||And then there was the breakfast – a culinary voyage into the rich tapestry of Egyptian flavors. Each morning was greeted with a spread that was not only delicious but offered a taste of local culture and tradition, a perfect start to a day of exploration and discovery.||Look no further for anyone seeking a stay that combines comfort, convenience, and a touch of local charm. This place is not just a stay; it's an experience, a gateway to the wonders of Tahrir, and a delightful chapter in the travel diary of any wanderer.
