After enjoying the ancient monuments in the Acropolis area, we decided to have dinner at City ZEN All Day Bar Restaurant. The reason we chose this place was that an older gentleman at the entrance warmly greeted us earlier in the day, so we went upstairs to make a dinner reservation and requested outdoor seating to enjoy the view of the Acropolis as it lit up from sunset to night.
However, we noticed that the staff repeatedly emphasized the 25-euro minimum spend per person when we were ordering. While we didn’t mind, we observed that other tables seemed to only order a beer and leave, which made us wonder if there was some form of differential treatment. Additionally, we asked a female server for forks three times, and although she said she would bring them, they never arrived.
Despite these service issues, we were satisfied with the food and ambiance. The price was reasonable, and the sunset and night views were stunning. It made for a very enjoyable evening with family on our first day in Athens.
