Overall, the experience is great! I wish the laundry facility is working and the host office always has someone there. Also, our room was not cleaned after the first night and we have to go down to ask for more towels. But the staff is truly helpful — we need some tapes to tag our luggages and they gave us some. I appreciate that!

Clean room, centrally located, comfortable beds and great shower head. We traveled with our cat and there was a food bowl when we arrived, which was a nice touch that felt very welcoming. We couldn't figure out if the heating worked but we didn't really need it, just thought of it to dry some of our clothes that were damp from the rain. Check-in and check-out are very easy and done on a machine. The lobby has coffee and vending machines with snacks and drinks, and there's breakfast at the restaurant that you can access via the lobby. It was a little unclear from the website where the breakfast would be (since that restaurant changes name between morning and evening) but logic told us it would be there, and it was. The floor is a nice alternative to carpet that is easy to roll suitcases on. A minor detail is that they have a sign in the bathroom telling you how good Norwegian tap water is but don't give you cups in the room - so grab some cups in the lobby if you want to taste it. Not a problem, just found it funny. (Oh and do try dinner at the restaurant/bar that's connected to the hotel - some of the best nachos and quesadillas I've had as a Mexican in Europe)

We had a great experience with our toddler at Citybox Bergen! I loved that they had the baby cot set up and ready before we arrived. It was even done up with cute bedding and a towel. Everything was clean and the amenities such as the shared kitchen and laundry were awesome to have. The location is fantastic, right next to the train station and a short walk to the old town.

Excellent hotel for travel. Great location. Spotlessly clean room & common areas. Great automated check in & out concept. Bed was super comfortable. Happy to recommend & we will stay here again when next in Bergen. It gets 5 stars from us.

Terrible "hotel." This is much more like a youth hostel, at hotel prices. Had we paid youth hostel prices, I would have been satisfied. But we paid the same prices that real neighboring hotels charge, and got bad pillows, insufficient towels, no cups, sticky floors, no staff, no legendary Norwegian hotel breakfast which is included at the nearby hotels. Bedside light was not working. The laundry facilities were out of order.

I personally found the hotel a little overpriced for what you are getting (given there is no staff, no amenities and no breakfast). However, it still seems to be on a cheeper side compared to the rest. The hotel is centrally located, currently partially in scaffolding. The check-in was smooth via the machine. The room has only the basics, but there is no wardrobe however. The bathroom is a little bit behind and there are no toiletries apart from soap. And that toilet paper… man, it’s just… rough paper. That’s honestly what killed me, because you could cut the costs on something else but put paper of a slightly better quality. Something that was also strange to me is that the doors won’t lock automatically when you close (they say it’s because of law, but I honestly haven’t seen it anywhere else in Norway). Can be a safety issue, so beep your card when you exit to close it on demand.

Although an “automated “ process, check in was smooth, quick and painless. The hotel was spotless, as was the adequately sized room and bathroom with a good shower. Breakfast could be taken next door, was good and relatively cheap. Good location meant an easy 10-15 minute walk to the harbour area. Checkout just as easy and I’d certainly recommend it as a good low cost budget hotel. No frills but nothing to complain about.

Clean, modern, good value. Handy kitchen. Good location near supermarkets and close to tourist attractions. Right next to the concert hall so perfect if you’ve tickets there. Comfortable bed, though room small. No tv but plenty of sockets for charging iPad/laptop etc.

Yelp
This review is after their latest renovations ending in June 2017. For 700NOK (about $100 Cdn), I thought this place was awesome. The room was cozy and clean with a strong wifi signal. Loved the rain shower heads! The self check-in process was a breeze and if you have any questions, the staff are more than happy to help out. Check-in typically isn't until 2pm but I was able to check in early (10:30am) because my room was ready. If not, the staff are more than happy to store your luggage while you run off for some sightseeing during the day. Similarly, you can store your luggage after checkout and come back for it when your are ready to leave the city. Just 15 minutes walking will get you to Bryggen and the fish market but it's still far enough removed that it is not too loud in the area. There is no official concierge but there are always staff in the office to help if needed. Room floors can be accessed by swiping your key card. A great place to stay if you're only sticking around for a day or two... and very economical as well!

Yelp
Place is centrally located, clean, and spacious, with all of the necessary features including a shared kitchenette, however there is absolutely no ventilation whatsoever. Windows do not open and thermostats do not work-- so if you don't need air you'll be okay here, ha. Also note that there is absolutely no staff to help with anything at this hotel-- it's all automated.
