Cityhotel am Thielenplatz

Convenient location when travelling by rail. The staff was very kind and allowed me to check in early at 10:30 am at no additional cost. The hotel bar offers over 200 cocktails, and the skilled staff can make you any cocktail you want. I had a mint julep, tin cup and all, very nice. There are some good and not too expensive restaurants nearby, and the city center is around the corner with even more to offer. The breakfast was good quality, diverse and tasty. The rooms had fresh bathrooms and working aircon. This is good, because the windows face the street and it was a little too busy to have them open all night due to noise. The room had a decently sized desk and a chair in case you need to do work. Wifi working as it should. No complaints, absolutely solid hotel.

Not sure about the design of this "DesignHotel" - simpler would have been better. But everything was clean, functional, and comfortable. The breakfast was nice and plentiful, and they have a self-service automatic speciality-coffee machine (always a plus in the morning). The staff is friendly and professional.||Some other reviews remarked that the WiFi was defunct for them, but it worked well and fast during my stay; no problems, at least on my laptop (I could not really get it to work on my iPhone, but that was likely my problem - somehow it seemed like I had to enter the password twice, once to get connected in the first place and once in a pop-up window).||Several good restaurants are right there at Thielenplatz. Being close to the main train station is not only nice on the day of your arrival, but also on departure day, since you could store your luggage at the front desk just as conveniently as in a train station locker.||While the central location of the hotel is a big plus, it also means that it is next to a very busy and loud street .There was no way to have the windows open during the night, but the room had efficient air conditioning and ventilation. There was also noise from the thin walls between the rooms, you could hear people coughing in the middle of the night - but the white noise from the air conditioner helped, and I slept well.

The hotel is OK. Location quite close to train station but quite far qáway from bars/restaurants. Staff is very friendly. Downside is that there is not equpiment to make a cup of coffee in the room. Only one elevator which results in a lot of waiting.

Really don't get the transparent bathroom design. Privacy is nice, even if you're with your spouse. Air was pretty thick in our room. Opened the windows until it was time to sleep. Pretty noisy outside. But that is to be expected in a central location of course. With the windows closed it was acceptable. Breakfast is pretty standard, nothing fancy, edible. Except for the coffee. In hotels I usually press espresso 3 or 4 times (depending on the line) to get something that is barely drinkable. But I was really happy with this one.

Nice, clean and updated rooms; good breakfast; and convenient location close to the train station. Friendly staff. However, I stayed in one of the few rooms that didn’t have A/C during a big heat wave. I slept poorly between the heat and the noise from the construction right below which started very early. As far as I see it, the main purpose of a hotel room is to have a comfortable place to sleep, so the rest of the nice stuff doesn’t matter. Glad to leave.

The hotel was nice enough. I had to stay for two weeks which maybe made it more difficult. Breakfast was nice. No dinner options. I had to take my own luggage to my room and that wouldn’t normally bother me but there were two at reception and I had to large suitcases and two carry on bags and a back pack as I was moving to Hannover for 3 months. The room was nice but often I had to start late at work and my room wouldn’t get made up because the staff finished and no one could possibly do up the room in the hotel. Very basic. I wouldn’t give it the star ratings that it has. No restaurant on site either. It’s an ok hotel.

Cool hotel, very clean, awesome bed and pillow. The bathroom is new and clean, no mold. The bar next to the reception is staffed with nice bartenders and a good variety of whiskies :-) best had-to-stay due to bad weather i ever had
