We stayed at Adina Wellington as a family of five and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. We booked a premium two-bedroom apartment, paid extra for an additional bed, and expected a comfortable stay. However, the apartment couldn’t even provide enough hot water for us to shower. On the first night, I was caught mid-shower when the hot water suddenly ran out — a terrible experience, especially on a cold and windy Wellington evening. We hadn’t used the water for cooking or washing, just regular showers. When I called reception, I was told that each unit only has one hot water cylinder and we’d need to wait 15–20 minutes between showers. No real explanation or assistance was offered. Despite waiting a long time the next evening, the same issue happened again. I didn’t make a formal complaint at the time, but gave feedback at check-out. Sadly, it was met with nothing more than a cold “thank you.” In all my travels, I’ve never encountered such poor hospitality. If the apartment is advertised as suitable for five guests, it should be properly equipped — and that includes something as basic as enough hot water for showers. Very disappointing from the cold and unhelpful service at front desk and reception.

Very reasonable price for an apartment ($170 per night). Spacious rooms, clean, and they had prepared everything you could possibly need. Staff were polite and not bad at explaining things. This hotel is probably suitable for people who have a low budget or has many family members.

I recently stayed at Adina and unfortunately my experience was far from pleasant due to the unprofessional and unwelcoming behavior of the reception staff. From the moment I checked in, the receptionist made no effort to engage with me as a guest. Her cold demeanor and unwillingness to assist made me feel more like an inconvenience than a customer. The poor service continued during check-out, where she showed the same lack of courtesy and professionalism. Even after multiple days had passed, I did not receive my invoice via email, despite requesting it. This level of negligence and lack of accountability is simply unacceptable in the hospitality industry. Having visited Wellington multiple times and stayed at various hotels, I have never encountered such poor service from a front desk staff member. It was evident that she had no interest in her job, and this negatively impacted the entire experience. I strongly urge management to take immediate action to improve the professionalism of their reception staff. A hotel's front desk is the first and last impression a guest has, and in this case, it was thoroughly disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel to others, unless they seriously address the issue of customer service and staff training

There was some work going on at the entrance to reception. Could not park at the front to unload luggage. Staff on hand were not helpful in relation to this issue. It would have been nice if they could have had a staff member on hand outside to assist with this problem. Car parking was in a very low, tight car park. To access the reception you have to go down a hill and back up. Thank god I wasn’t someone who needed assistance walking. Once we arrived at reception a hello and a smile to greet us would have been nice. Got a blank look from gent booking us in the woman on the next counter also never bothered to look up and acknowledge. So customer service gets a Zero. Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Based on customer service would not stay here again.

We could only stay 1 night and I wish we could have stayed longer. We were kindly upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite which as a couple on our travels this was amazing thanks to the washer and dryer in the apartment! The room was spacious and the whole apartment spotlessly clean. |Billy on reception was really friendly and helpful. |Would highly recommend.

We had just one night here. Strange set up. Enter from the street and catch the lift to reception on the 6th floor. Small parking area for reception at the back (which was not communicated on booking). Then had to move the car to other parking for overnight. Check in guy Billy was helpful but when we left the next morning neither of the female staff even spoke to us. Just smiled when we handed the key back. No “thanks for staying with us” “have a nice day” etc - nothing. |Good location to walk to local restaurants and the cable car. Room was big, bed was comfy.

Really great deal for a super nice place to stay in the main business district of Wellington. The staff there graciously upgraded us when we mentioned that we were hoping to utilize the in-unit laundry. We were amazed at the full kitchen, including an oven, stove, and full fridge, which we weren’t provided for most of our trip (even when staying in very nice hotels and AirBnBs!). While we weren’t able to get the WiFi to work, we were mostly just using this as a play to stay on our extensive travels through New Zealand. This place was fabulous, and I would recommend it to anyone considering.

Great location. Spacious apartment. However outside of our apartment (which was above the reception area) was an industrial air compressor (nothing to do with Adina) which released pressure every 2 minutes, 24 hrs a day. This was followed by a loud groaning sound as the sound bounced around the concrete buildings! Wouldn’t recommend staying here if you want to sleep well!
