Stayed 1 night here. When we entered the room we could smell a very strong fragrance, probably a from spray. It was too much so we had to open the window to get fresh air in. The bed was comfy and comes with clean bedsheet and 2 towels. Bathroom was good enough but as you would have guessed there was no hot water but thats no surprise in Philippines. The hotel also has a nice pool and pretty good gym you can use. I wouldn't mind coming back here again.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at CityState Asturias Hotel Palawan last October 14-17, and it was a great experience overall! As a first-timer in Palawan, I was excited to explore the area, and the hotel did a good job of making my stay comfortable. The rooms were clean and well-maintained, which was a big plus. However, my assigned room was a bit of a trek from the entrance, which was a bit inconvenient. On the plus side, it was close to our venue, so that made things easier. The service staff were friendly and attentive, particularly the housekeeping team who did a great job of keeping our room tidy. The food service was also good, and the transpo service was convenient. One thing to note is that the hotel is a bit of a distance from the city proper, but it's within walking distance to a mall and some famous store brands, as well as a church where I am afriliated. So, if you're looking for a more laid-back stay with easy access to some amenities, this might be a good option for you. Overall, I'd recommend CityState Asturias Hotel Palawan to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Palawan. Just be aware of the location and plan accordingly!

One of the worst accommodation I have stayed in, We arrived late at night, checked in and went to room, as we sat on the bed both of our body started itching like crazy. Room literally stank like mould, fridge smelt like something died in there, bathroom was bad. I asked receptionist if I can upgrade to better room and there was no way we can sleep in that bed or room, they said they were fully booked. When I got my agent to call they had plenty of room available, we changed room around 11:00pm, it wasn’t much better, as it was too late to book another accommodation we stayed, we couldn’t sleep even for 1 minute. There was limited breakfast options, and the receptionists kept staring at us as we were honest about their rooms.

Although the hotel is old and somewhat outdated, it maintains cleanliness, and their in-house travel and tours staff respond promptly. However, once the payment was confirmed via Agoda, the booking team did not respond to my messages and failed to provide information regarding the airport pickup. The breakfast offerings were limited, with few options. The establishment operates purely as a business hotel and does not cultivate customer relationships. After receiving payment, they did not maintain communication despite my efforts using the Agoda platform and email. Upon arrival, they immediately reminded me to settle the payment. The reception staff lack a welcoming demeanor and charisma; their gaze is rather uncomfortable.

Overall, a very pleasant stay! Everything was exceptionally clean — from the room to the facilities — and even the bath towels and pool towels smelled amazing, which really added to the comfort. The staff were polite and helpful, and the location was convenient. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the gym could be better maintained and sanitized, and the breakfast could offer a wider selection. Still, I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay again..

Low price for a nice hotel. The rooms are spacious, with small ref, closet space, and small vault. The toilet has a bath tub. Their water heater is not functioning properly. The hotel has a pool, gym, a restaurant, and meeting rooms/ conference rooms. The building is only 2 floors high. It has plenty of parking. The location is within the city center, and near fastfoods and mall.

*Nice and clean rooms *Strong AC *Delicious breakfast *Staff were very nice and service-oriented *Strong water pressure and clean toilets The only downside is the wifi. Does not work well in the annex or new rooms. No phone reception as well. We have to transfer to the main building in the hopes of having a better wifi signal but to no avail. Frontdesk told me it has been their problem for quite a long time. Luckily phone signal is available in the main hotel area as we have meetings to attend to. If wifi is not a problem for you, this is a value for money hotel. Very affordable and has free airport transfers to/from the airport. It is also near Robinsons and some fast food chain.

Yelp
Artusia Hotel This was the last stay on a family vacation (three from the States and five from here in the Philippines) to visit the Underground River and go island hopping in El Nido. This was the worst part of the entire trip. I'm from the US, so I asked the ones from here if I was simply not used to how things are here, but they told me it's not up to their standards as well. The room my wife and I stayed in was dirty, the toilet was stained, the tiles chipped, there were lights that only came on if you wiggled the wires, and signs of old electrical devices that left scorch marks in the still hanging cables and on the wall. There was no hot water when I showered. It was so cold I couldn't even take a proper shower. There was exposed cables under the AC unit of the unit above ours, which also had a big piece of rusty metal hanging off it. There is a window that opens outside in the shower that does NOT have privacy glass. The exhaust fan that was installed, was apparently done by someone too lazy to remove the price either before or after install. Maybe they planned to try to return it? Then there is the bland tasteless breakfast they serve. The "juice" they had tasted like water...before I added ice, which you have to do since the "juice" is not in a chilled dispenser. Even the corned beef with onions somehow tasted watered down. I asked for simple scrambled eggs and that was bland too. When I talked to the front desk, the only thing they asked was if I called about the hot water. I told them no, I was already done trying to take a shower and even if we were scheduled to stay another night, I had no intention of staying there anymore. Everything else was simply replied to with "okay." I'm sure after all this, some of you will still think I'm exaggerating, so I'll post pictures of our room and you can judge for yourself.

Yelp
Asturias hotel may not be the five star or even four star accommodation you were thinking, and prolly not on par with many three star hotels abroad, but when factoring in the level of comfort afforded locally (especially in the provincial setting), it actually is quite comfortable and has just the right amount of amenities. Air conditioning was cold enough, pool is large and water kept clean, menu may be lack luster, but being a person who needs to keep connected, free and fast Wi-Fi is something I wouldn't trade anything for.
