First and formeost, much love to Gaia, our host. She is one of those quiet professionals who gets things done and doesn't make a fuss. Yet everything falls into place with little overt effort. ||The facility is perfect, charming, rustic, and definitely built with the environment in mind. If you are in Cahuita for adventures, this spot will welcome you after a long day out with an inviting hammock on its generous patio. Plus our unit had a small, functional kitchen with a four burner propane stovetop and full-size (for Costa Rica) fridge. Beds were comfy, a/c cool, and the windows allowed for a breeze during the day. Shower big enough for a big dude, we enjoyed being indoors as much as out. ||If you pick this place, you'll likely want to come back. We sure will. Thanks to all the staff and their commitment to preserving their beautiful environment.

We stayed here as part of an Exodus Tour, Costa Rica’s Coastal Secrets. The Lodge consists of two, separate sets of cabin type bungalows with a central building used for breakfast. It is situated on a back road which is relatively traffic free and would be quiet if it weren’t for the resident howler monkeys and other wildlife. Our cabin was well sized with 3 beds but others seemed to have smaller ones and not related to number staying.|It is well situated, only a short walk into the Cahuita Main Street with its bars and restaurants and then to both Playa Blanca and Negra beaches. Breakfast is pre ordered by filling in a form and we didn’t have any problems with quantity as staff were happy to provide more drinks or food. |All in all, a charming, well run place.

We stayed at Cuidad Perdida on a wildlife tour with Exodus. It's a lovely location, just a short walk to the entrance to Cahuita National Park and some of the wildlife reaches the grounds. The rooms are attractive paired bungalows spaced around the grounds. Very comfortable. It's a short walk into Cahuita, so the hotel is quiet at night. Lots of restaurants, bars and shops within easy walking distance. Bring a beach towel and a small torch (optional).

The staff wasn’t welcoming when we arrived. There was nobody at the check in time at the front desk to assist us and we had to pretty much drag their attention to receive help.|There was a problem with the water availability to take a shower the day after check in during the hottest time of the day. They had to use a tank to provide water afterwards. Apparently the place has this issue when it’s fully booked…|The breakfast did not options to choose from and the size was not enough for an adult. There was no refill for at least coffee and they serve it so it is not buffet.|Regarding the cabins, you can hear all conversations from your neighbors next door so that makes it very uncomfortable at night. The parking spaces are not well signalized so you can park one day in front of your cabin and the next day others can take up your spot and you have to park somewhere far from your cabin (first come first serve).|We did not like our neighbors and wanted to change cabin and they had nothing available to make it happen so the place is too small.|The pillows were quite uncomfortable and also the beds and sheets, not breathable and very rough.|Nice pool and outdoorsy area there.

Lovely place! The staff were so friendly and always asked to make sure everything was ok. Minutes walk to downtown or the national park. Great bfast and private parking. The rooms are beautiful, all wood with plenty of hot water. Howler monkeys serenaded us nightly. (Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper!)

The lodge is located minutes away from the national park which makes it easy to get around. The room was initially a little musty and the pillows somewhat thin/lumpy, but otherwise comfortable for a short stay. My room did not have hot water during our stay (although others in the same property did) but as it was around 30 degrees C outside, I did not mind that at all. Breakfast (the only meal available in the lodge) was simple but plentiful, and there are many restaurants a short walk away for other meals. Having spent all my time in Cahuita at the beach, I did not use the small pool on the property but it seemed nice. Wifi is available only at reception which is not exactly the best location to hang out in as the mosquitoes seemed to gather there in droves every evening. A flashlight is essential to move around the property after sunset as the wonderful and large trees in the garden send out roots in the middle of the path which can be trip hazards. ||||The friendliness of the staff, the pleasant gardens with howler monkeys, agoutis and many birds, and the bright pink hammock outside made up for any inconveniences!

Great little place. Bungalows are very comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Well located just five minutes walk from the small town and national park entrance. Seemingly surrounded by a large troop of howler monkeys....we heard them regularly and spotted them on one occasion too which was a real bonus! |

We loved our chalet. We were lucky enough to have the chalet with the Jacuzzi outside. Really roomy and really comfortable beds. Lovely veranda with hammock to relax in. Fairly traditional decor which may not be for everyone but we found it charming. In a great location tucked away but only 5 minutes from the main street. Enjoyed listening to the monkeys in the morning. Sandra the owner was very helpful. Very relaxed stay.
