We had a truly wonderful stay at this charming estate near Biarritz. The property itself is stunning — beautifully kept grounds, elegant interiors, and a serene atmosphere that makes you feel at home from the very first moment. We booked two rooms, and both were absolutely gorgeous: spacious, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable, with every detail carefully thought out. The beds were excellent, and we slept incredibly well. The staff deserve special mention — everyone we met was warm, polite, and genuinely attentive, always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality added so much to our experience. This place feels more like a refined countryside retreat than a typical hotel, and it was the perfect setting to relax and recharge. We left with only positive impressions and would love to return again!

Fabulous hotel, very friendly staff and they speak excellent English.|We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights as it was the venue for our son's wedding. Everything was just perfect.|The Château is set in beautiful grounds, the swimming pool has a view over the Pyrenees. It is very peaceful yet within a 10 minute drive of the bustling Biarritz sea front.|We fully recommend Château Clair de Lune and will definitely stay there again.

The location of this establishment is very quiet and not far away from the bustling beach area. The front staff lady a former horse rider carried our heavy luggage with a smile and we felt very welcome. The room was large with high ceiling and simply very well apportioned.

We were lucky to find this beautiful place during our drive down to Spain in august. We stayed at a place five minutes away with a Michelin star restaurant the night before and unfortunately my husband became unwell. Rather than attempt our next day of driving we decided to stay nearby and set off the following day, more refreshed. So so glad we did as we much preferred our stay here to the previous hotel. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a pavilion room with our dog. The grounds are immaculate and it was the peaceful retreat we needed. They were so kind to provide room service and we had a lovely quiet evening. We stayed again on our return trip and received the same warm welcome and a lovely evening meal on the terrace. This will definitely be our place of choice to stay during our very frequent travels to and from our place in Spain. We hope to stay longer in the future to discover more of the area. The views are stunning. Highly recommended!

My husband and I were very impressed with this hotel. Unfortunately we were not able to stay here, due to my 7 year old becoming very ill the days leading up to our stay. When I called the hotel to inquire about their cancellation policy, they informed me that we were past the point of receiving a refund (because we used an online travel agency to book). However they tried their best to get the room rented so they could refund us a portion of our booking. We felt this was more than fair on the part of the hotel considering the circumstances. Both of the women at the front desk who helped us were friendly, responsive, and wonderful communicators. And the owners were so kind to make this exception for us. They didn't have to do that for us and they did it with warmth and professional. We very much forward to staying here next time we are in Biarritz. Thank you, Chateau du Clair de Lune for your hospitality. We will always remember this!

Stayed Oct. 8th to the 10th. The Chareau is outside the city of Biarritz in a beautiful country setting. It is only a short drive to the city center, about 10 minutes. We stayed in the hunting lodge a short distance from the main building the first night. Due to the heat not working we had a cold night but they moved us to a very nice room in the Chateau for our second night. If you select the hunting lodge in cool weather suggest you make sure the heat works. The rooms are very nice and have a terrace that is nice to enjoy the outdoors. The Chateau room was excellent with great views of the fountains and grounds. The rooms are large and well furnished. Only suggestion is they should be equipped with coffee makers especially the lodge which is separate. No restaurant in the Chateau but snack food available from room service. Excellent (expensive) restaurant within easy walking distance. The people were very friendly and helpful.

We love this hotel! We were treated so well from beginning to end. We came with two dogs and had a perfect room for them on the ground floor with access to a porch. The grounds of the hotel are large and perfect for walking the dogs. The food was lovely and the service impeccable. It is also very close to the motorway so easy access if you're travelling as we were. We would highly recommend for service and comfort.

Oh my goodness what a wonderful Chateau to stay in... It is owned and run by the original owners geat grandson. The interior is lovely and reflects it's heritage. Our room on ground floor was large and the attached bath was huge. Beautifully appointed. The bed was large and very comfy. The bath towels thick and soft. They provide robes and slippers. They go out of heir way to accommodate your needs. The casual supper, on the terrace overlooking the fountain and grounds, was tasty. Breakfast the next morning was delightful. NOT the icky usual bread, bread, bread, butter and lunch meats. Ordered a cheese omelette and bacon. They had nice pastries, granola, fresh fruit and jams. Coffee with cream. I could go on and on singing their praises but you need to see for yourself. Definately come and stay here.
