Clare Island Lighthouse

Clare Island and The Lighthouse is some spot. Got the ferry over for €19 return and stayed for one night. Had intended to camp but weather was s##t. Brought our bikes (costed extra on ferry) and cycled around the Island. Such a beautiful place. Weather was mixed but didnt hold us back. The pub is 2 mins from the pier with really nice food and staff with good priced pints👍 Cycled up North of the Island about 5k from the pier to The lighthouse to stay for the night. Views are amazing. Katrina & Roie run the b&b accomadation and couldnt have been nicer or more helpful. Breakfast was yummy. Such a delightful stay. Thanks again ladies. Lovely to meet ya n alls.

What a gorgeous time we had at the Lighthouse! We stayed in the Achill View room and, as advertised, the views were truly stunning. The bed was so comfortable, breakfast was very nice, and I cannot say enough good things about Katrina, the woman who runs the lighthouse. She was so helpful and kind. She really made our trip. ||One thing to note - food options on the island can be limited and there is a shared kitchen at the lighthouse so pack accordingly!

Our stay at the lighthouse was amazing. We booked the sauna suite and loved it—it was comfortable, peaceful, and just what we needed. Katrina, the Caretaker, greeted us when we arrived and made us feel really welcome. She was kind and helpful the whole time. Everything about the stay was great, and we’d definitely come back.

We love to visit lighthouses and this was the best and most welcoming stay we have ever had. The lighthouse is gorgeous and retains its charm as well as being sympathetically restored. We stayed in the Sauna suite, giving us beautiful views as well as a fantastic spa experience. We had the pleasure of being welcomed by Katrina and enjoyed hearing about the labour of love in restoring and running the lighthouse from Roie. Their hospitality was fantastic including organising the amazing weather. Unforgettable.

We really enjoyed our relaxing stay in the lighthouse. |We walk up was beautiful, the views from the room were stunning and the hospitality was top notch!|Would recommend to anyone wanting to unwind and get away from the hussle and bustle!!

The Lighthouse is not accessible to visitors plus it is decommissioned but if you walk up to the fence, the view is stunning. Thanks to Bridget who drove us around in her mini bus

Clare Island Lighthouse is the most stunning place to stay. Even though we were there in the wild winds and rain we really enjoyed ourselves from hanging out in the lighthouse tower and listening to the howling winds and admiring the stunning views, to enjoying a warm sauna in our room! Our room was amazing with windows all around. The hospitality of Katrina and Roie was superb. Katrina ( whom we saw most of) was so helpful, accommodating and friendly she added to the whole experience. The breakfast is deliciously simple. Only problem with the place is the road up to it which needs to be repaired and hence the taxi was very expensive. A lovely walk down though!|Overall a great experience. Thank you so much Katrina and Roie.

The most amazing place. We stayed in the achill view room which I would absolutely recommend. The views were AMAZING. It has a good bit of privacy from the other rooms as it's on a raised level. I was worried about being cold due to the size of the building but it has underfloor heating 😊. The best thing about this place is the warmth and hospitality that Katrina brings. And she makes a beautiful breakfast! I couldnt recommend this place enough!
