Clare Island Lighthouse

As soon as we arrived Katrina made us feel welcome. She showed us around the property and shared history of the lighthouse and then to our room (the sauna suite). The views were great and the sunset from the lighthouse tower the first night was amazing. ||Breakfasts were delicious. We were lucky to get a place for the tasting menu on Saturday night in the Stone Barn Cafe and it was fantastic. |By the end of the weekend I felt we had received exceptional hospitality. It was relaxing and peaceful and I was sad to leave.

Incredible experience! From communications with Roie on booking and follow ups on planning and activities, to our extremely pleasant stay at this amazing 219 year old facility. Katrina was an extremely engaging, knowledgeable and helpful host. We brought wine and cheese from a market in Westport, which served as a nice accompaniment to the pre-prepared dinners which we heated up in the well-appointed and stylish kitchen. The breakfasts which Katrina prepared and served in the lovely conservatory were a great start to each day. The views from the Achill View room were spectacular. A short hike in either direction from the lighthouse revealed cliff views rivaling anything we experienced at the Cliffs of Moher and the Kerry Cliffs, but we had them all to ourselves! I can't recommend this truly unique and wonderful experience enough.

3 friends ventured out for an overnight adventure. Easy to book, payment made online prior. Ferry boarded with a great sailing across. Taxi booked with luggage to the Lighthouse where Katrina was eagerly awaiting our arrival. Not a warmer welcome was ever received! Beautiful rooms, stunning scenery, wonderful pre-made food from a very talented chef (to warm through at your leisure), and excellent selection of wines, comfy beds, superb sauna in one of our suites and a cracking breakfast the next day!||Overall - Katrina is an absolute superstar. So friendly, very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Katrina for such an amazing stay. We will be back 🥰

Unique!!!! This experience far exceeded our expectations!!!!! Our host Katrina greeted us with such warmth and professionalism. The accommodation is of such that dreams are made off! Exceptional and unique stay at the lighthouse! This place is truly magical - offering a very relaxing stay with unreal views and peaceful vibes!! The sauna suite with a view of Croagh Patrick is so worth it! Katrina was an incredible and welcoming host, can’t recommend staying here and exploring Clare island enough :)

Clare Island and The Lighthouse is some spot. Got the ferry over for €19 return and stayed for one night. Had intended to camp but weather was s##t. Brought our bikes (costed extra on ferry) and cycled around the Island. Such a beautiful place. Weather was mixed but didnt hold us back. The pub is 2 mins from the pier with really nice food and staff with good priced pints👍 Cycled up North of the Island about 5k from the pier to The lighthouse to stay for the night. Views are amazing. Katrina & Roie run the b&b accomadation and couldnt have been nicer or more helpful. Breakfast was yummy. Such a delightful stay. Thanks again ladies. Lovely to meet ya n alls.

What a gorgeous time we had at the Lighthouse! We stayed in the Achill View room and, as advertised, the views were truly stunning. The bed was so comfortable, breakfast was very nice, and I cannot say enough good things about Katrina, the woman who runs the lighthouse. She was so helpful and kind. She really made our trip. ||One thing to note - food options on the island can be limited and there is a shared kitchen at the lighthouse so pack accordingly!

Our stay at the lighthouse was amazing. We booked the sauna suite and loved it—it was comfortable, peaceful, and just what we needed. Katrina, the Caretaker, greeted us when we arrived and made us feel really welcome. She was kind and helpful the whole time. Everything about the stay was great, and we’d definitely come back.
