Claremont Inn & Winery

We just finished up our 3rd visit and the Claremont never disappoints. The rooms are extremely tasteful and well decorated, the food is exquisite, and the staff are always extremely friendly and accommodating. This place is truly a hidden gem on the plains with an ability to create relaxation that is unrivaled. It is, in my humble opinion, the most classy and luxurious experience you can have anywhere between Denver and Kansas City.

We came to take part in a cooking class and not only learned a lot, but had so much fun!||The minute you enter this gorgeous estate you are pampered. Ice is brought to your room where there are freshly baked cookies waiting along with a well stocked mini-fridge.||The staff is top notch. Special call out to Brad and Alex who are great at anticipating your every need before you even ask. ||The food is 5 star quality and so many choices of wine to sample.||Fresh coffee or tea is waiting outside your room door in the morning. Sets the tone for a great day. ||We came to cook but left refreshed wondering when we can return.

The Claremont Inn and Winery needs to be on the top of everyone’s bucket list. For a delightful escape with great wine and the best food with the best staff. And, if you enjoy ceramics, a fun way to spend an afternoon. Our 11 th visit was a way to celebrate a 77 th birthday and a 54th anniversary. You won’t be disappointed

We went with a group of Corvette enthusiasts. From the time we arrived until we left the service, the food, the wine, the rooms and amenities were outstanding. We had an escape room, murder mystery and cooking class set up. Outdoor games were also available. ||This would be a great place for a couple day retreat for any group.

An absolutely phenomenal girls trip to relax and refresh. The hospitality was wonderful. Harry, David, Tanya, Alex and Brad made us feel welcomed. The food was amazing and I loved trying the different wines. Yes, I took a couple bottles home with me.

Absolutely LOVE Claremont Inn! So comfortable and upscale both! Lovely delicious meals/wine served by Tonya one evening, filling in for Bradley and Alex. Then Brad and Alex returned the next day... what delightful/personable/friendly people, same for Tonya! We will definitely return, trying now to figure out when we can do so and bring the rest of the family. Thanks Harry, David, and staff. You must be doing something quite right to be in business 30 years. Congratulations and thanks again!

Everything about our stay was excellent! We loved the staff, the food, the wine, and the Inn itself. The Claremont Inn is so unique and special. It was the perfect destination to celebrate our wedding anniversary!

EPIC experience. Inn keepers (Bradley & Alex) are totally customer focused. From wine tasting happy hour to appetizers to fresh baked focaccia, to locally sourced salads (except for the pickled Peruvian peppers), to chef prepared main courses it was all absolutely excellent! Add to that incredible desserts (how about a dark chocolate flourless torte?!!!). Fabulous. Wines included! Breakfast was raspberry cream cheese stuffed French toast with scrambled eggs (+ chives and feta) with chicken-apple sausages. That was preceded by fresh-cut fruit and a nice croissant. We left absolutely well fed. Rooms are well and tastefully appointed. Water and LaCroix waters cold in the in-room frig . Morning coffee delivered outside the room at the appointed/desired hour. EVERYTHING is done to satisfy the customer. Also have pottery painting classes, cooking classes, escape room challenges, costumed murder mystery plays focused on the inn. It's simply a wonderful experience. We celebrated our 60th anniversary at the Inn and we will return!

Even at 50 years old I don't feel "grown up enough" for that place. The food was phenomenal, I had no idea that a fillet mignon could be cut with a fork and melt in your mouth. The morning croissant was delectable, croissant's are no longer bread to me. 10/10 in my book, thank you so much for sharing this little secret with me.

Absolutely recommend ! It's beautiful, and luxurious. You're treated like a million bucks!

While in a nearby town, this was suggested to visit. It was a big hit, MIL is a wine lover. She purchased four bottles and even I got my first bottle of wine. Our server knew his stuff. The five I tasted were so good and great options for a person who avoids wine. My favorite is the coco loco and tropical trouble. Both felt like I was on the beach in Miami. The only thing missing was small plate options like cheese/crackers.

We could not have imagined such fabulous food, beautiful rooms, and excellent service. I am honest n I say, we have never experienced such a great time with very professional staff and owners. We will be back.

What an incredible gem! A beautiful inn and winery. Decorated beautifully, the food and wine off the charts! Wonderful ambience and staff. It even has a theater room with over 100 movies to choose from. Great for a getaway or small weddings or reunions. We'll be back.

Quaint bed and breakfast located off the highway near Kansas. Large stucco home with 10 themed rooms to choose from. We stayed in the sun room on the top floor, it was quite spacious. The two person jacuzzi tub got some use, as did the beautiful fireplace. Sampled 6 wines of your choosing

These folks rock! My wife brought me here for a Father's Day mystery date. The two hour drive was well worth it!! Beautiful accommodations, wonderful staff, great service, awesome food, and a nice wine collection. We shall return!

It was an AMAZING stay!! Bradley , Alex and Daniel were GREAT HOSTS!!! FIVE STARS! Delicious meals and wines! Generous in Everything! A Large Slice of Heaven on Earth! Beautiful Rooms! Theater room! We will be returning often!!!

Out on the plains of eastern Colorado lies an impossibility: a winery done in the manner of a French château just off I 70. I noticed it as we drove past on our way out to Kansas, thought, "That's interesting place for a winery," and made a note to stop there on the way back. We did and had a tasting of flights. Some of the wines had flaws in their balance, too much fruit here, a little too much tannin or acidity there. Obviously, the fruit is sourced from other locales. but a lot of care is exercised in their making, and the vintner isn't constrained by traditional rules of which grapes go together, leading to interesting, worthy combinations. Overall though, the wines range from charming to quite good and far, far better than you would expect in a desolate place. The dining room in the center of the hall looks elegant. We didn't try the food because the kitchen wasn't open. I'd rate this is worth the trip if you live along the front range or a stop if passing through.

We celebrated my 65th birthday at the Claremont Inn. What a wonderful little secret place. A sweet get-away with a wine tasting, gourmet dinner ( that fed us the next day with leftovers) and a scrumptious breakfast. David and Harry were perfect hosts. We had the place to ourselves and watched movies, soaked in our in-suite jacuzzi tub, drank wine in front of the fire, read on the second floor catwalk and relaxed. We will recommend to others and we'll be back!

This place is worth a visit. Out in Eastern Colorado, sits a lush well kept bed and breakfast. The owner, Dave, greets guests with warmth and sense of visiting an old friend. They prepare dinner for you after you arrive and schedule your breakfast time for the morning. The rooms are spacious, and well appointed. Our room had it's own master bath with a jacuzzi tub (The Secret Garden Room). They have 10 rooms in all, each with a theme. We went for their monthly cooking class. Dave is a classically trained chef but calmly and patiently explains technique and methods to the students who prepare the dishes. Everything was simple, fun, educational and tasty. Some might be put off with the remote locale... but I think that adds to the charm. With the pampering and gourmet food they lavish on you, you don't want to get out and do anything. This is definitely a stay in the room with your significant other, only leaving the room long enough to eat, learn and then retire kind of place.

Service above and beyond! A situation arose where my car would not start and had to be towed. However, due to a AAA pandemic policy they would not allow me to ride with the wrecker, and AAA said I had to find my own transportation to the auto shop clear in the next town far away, and there were no Uber drivers available. I was effectively stranded. The owner of Claremont Inn, upon hearing of my dilemma, instantly took it upon himself to make sure I was taken care of and personally drove me to the far away place that my car was being repaired! And in style with his own antique classic car! Now that's service above and beyond!

BEAUTIFUL!!! It is one of the most serene places I have been to in a long time. It sits right off the HWY but as soon as you enter the B&B you forget all about what is going on outside. The staff , Chef (owner) are amazing they want your stay to be everything to remember . The food was so delicious. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. There are so many things to speak of but you must experience it for yourself . It is worth every red cent . If you are looking for a get away where you want serenity this is the place.

We had two days in our busy schedules to get away and decided on trying out the Claremont Inn & Winery with their wine tasting and dinner menu. We had a nice drive, we were able to check into the Roman Spa room a little early, and enjoy the homemade cookies, room, and patio. We were astonished at the extensive wine list it had a little of something for each of our tastes. The hors d'oeuvres were perfect with the wine tasting, Then they brought a salad that was wonderful with fresh greens and housemade vinaigrette dressing. The pork roast, brussel sprouts, and potatoes were fabulous. Needless to say, we could not eat everything, but they boxed it up including our dessert, and we put it in the refrigerator and brought home the leftovers we will enjoy for dinner tonight. Breakfast was another very enjoyable experience with a fresh pot of coffee outside the door when we got up. Fresh fruit, homemade croissants, chicken apple sausage, scrambled eggs, and raspberry cream cheese stuffed french toast. They had to roll us out the doors. LOL. Keep in mind that the chef creates the menu and you eat it or don't. I love this concept and if you are a foodie or open to experiencing food without a menu this is the place for you. We asked and if you call ahead they will create a menu around dietary restrictions such as nut allergy or vegan menus. They are very accommodating in regards to this. As a travel agent and event planner I highly recommend this location for small weddings, family reunions, murder mystery dinners, etc. With 10 different rooms to choose from, which they just updated, you can go back multiple times and have a different experience each time. The only problem I had was the drapes in the Roman room were not thick enough so the light was coming into the room all night, I will be taking my eye mask next time. I know we will return again.

Amazingly disappointing. After reading glorious reviews and such we thought this was going to be a fun relaxing inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Upon arrival the entrance was dirty and dead. The man who greeted us frazzled and never introduced nor welcomed us. He checked his records and the room the returned to take us to our room. However still not welcoming offering us a beverage or otherwise. In the room he brought strawberries and a sparklingly wine and promised to return promptly with champagne glasses which he didn't. He did advised the jetted tub was in disrepair and we noticed the smoke alarm was busted off the ceiling. (we believe it's illegal to rent a room without a working alarm) and rented this room for the jetted tub which was dismissed as unimportant. We poured a glass it was sickening sweet wine and decided to go find lunch. We had a garden level room which the convenience suggested is we could exit via the back door and park there however our room key didn't allow us to lock the back entry so my husband drove to the front. I locked the room headed up the stairs and out. The town of Stratton offers nothing. No restaurant, bars or anything so we drove into Burlington ( 20 mins away) for lunch. The hotel advertises its all you want but we did tour the grounds which were unkept and offered little but dead grass and a sad garden. We came back with beer an wine procured in Burlington and chatted with some other guests. We checked out the movie room the only "amenity" but it only offered microwave popcorn. Yuk! The mini bar was not well stocked:Two little waters, coke and juice. Sad. The wine tasting was good but Bradley didn't introduce himself until we asked, never gave us an introduction to the place nor tasting and it took 4 attempts to get a glass of water. We got 1 snack and did notice inconsistencies with some getting a variety an we got one. Next up our gourmet dinner. Told to sit anywhere. Server never greeted us with a name still no one has acknowledged our anniversary and never did. Dinner an over dressed salad with greens with onion, watermelon and mint. Watermelon saved the tartness. Main course pork tenderloin cooked nicely but with a thick red pepper sauce, mashed lumpy potatoes ( supposedly garlic but no taste) and Mexican corn. Which was basically salty (i personally didn't touch it). Why would a romantic gourmet dinner serve corn? I asked for white wine with my salad and red with the entree. The glasses were not appropriate white or red matter of fact they poured red in my white glass never offering a glass refresh. It's a winery. Glassware should be important! Lastly dessert of key lime pie which doesn't pair with wine at all. Seriously non gourmet and was a failure for a special occasion. We went to bed and the room was freezing, no thermostat so we opened windows to hear road noise from highway. Turned on TV which reception was poor and had 4 channels tried WiFi which was poor as I couldn't watch Netflix or surf web at all. Couldn't soak as tub was broke. Morning coffee arrived at 8 breakfast on time at 9. Salty quiche, blueberry French toast, croissant, thin bacon and fresh fruit with orange juice. It was decent. We packed it up and left and felt like we got ripped off $590 for this experience. You decide but we won't go back. This place has potential was likely nice at one point but they appear underfunded, overpriced and disinterested in their guests.

This is our second time in the area . The wine tasting is awesome . Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere . The owner Harry served our tastings and was very informative on each wine. We had fun trying Cabernet to port wines . The coffee infused port wine was excellent . The vanilla fig port wine was excellent . What a great place . We left with 6 bottles of different wines and ports and if you buy six you get one of those free ( owners choice which bottle) . Must stop by for wine tasting or better yet stay at their Inn for the weekend . Don't pass by this place off Interstate 70 .

Amazing! Beautiful place, great unlimited wine tasting, gourmet food for dinner and again for breakfast. Not loosing weight on this trip! The room was charming, large and had a wonderful jacuzzi tub. Comfortable, clean room with a great bed and oversized padded chairs to relax in. If you need more to do, there is a theater on the bottom floor, complete with popcorn and recliners. They have lots of movies. Outside is a beautiful large garden area to play games in (provided) and walk around. I will definitely return for a fun , romantic day away, and I plan on giving a gift certificate to my sister, who loves wine and great food. Who knew this gem was hidden away in Stratton, Colorado?

We pick this place because it has a charger for electric car and are so amazed at what a wonderful place it is and will try to come back. the meals were wonderful the service was great we have food to bring home for another meal cause they served us so well. oh and the wine was wonderful too. Fantastic selection. The room is beautiful and comfortable.

Incredible weekend. Great food! Fabulous wine! So relaxing in my spa room. The staff are very kind and gracious.

If you are looking for a getaway without driving more than a couple of hours without a lot of traffic, this is it! Just returned from 2 nights in this gem! We went for an anniversary getaway without any real knowledge of this place other than what I had read in a Facebook ad. We had 2 amazing dinners & breakfasts as well as a fun wine tasting each day. The rooms are beautiful & comfortable & everyone there makes you feel really welcome. We will definitely go back for one of their special stays such as the cooking class, mystery dinner or escape room. We can hardly wait to share this fun experience with our friends!!

My wife and I visited the Claremont Inn & Winery for the first time this weekend for one night to celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. This is truly an amazing place. The place was designed and built by the current owner/manager Dave twenty-five years ago. It features spacious, well-decorated, comfortable and clean rooms. Our room had both a jacuzzi bath and a shower in the bathroom. The Inn also has an airy dining room with vaulted ceiling, chandelier and massive windows. A separate wine tasting area is used to give guests a taste of the 58 different wines produced at the winery (amazing!). The dinner and breakfast were delicious and served with a smile. Outside, the grounds of the winery feature a nicely landscaped lawn and garden ringed by trees. The garden uses innovative growing techniques to provide fresh vegetables served with the well-prepared meals. It is a total gem of a getaway in a place you would not expect to find this level of quality and innovation in food and lodging. I give Dave enormous credit for everything he has done to make this place an exceptional dining and lodging experience. To make your visit more interesting, they offer cooking classes, murder mysteries, painting classes, and an escape room. Highly recommend as a nifty weekend getaway within two to three hours of most Denver-area locations!

This place was amazing. This comfortable B&B is right off the interstate and you forget your in the middle of the eastern plains when you stay here. The room was very nice and the breakfast was delicious. Well worth the trip. We will be coming back!

We did the taste, dine, and stay package. We had wine tasting, which was not your normal wine tasting, I was a bit tipsy when we were done. We got seated at a table for two and had a wonderful three course meal. We stayed in the wonderful red room. Big king bed. A fireplace and a bar. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub for two. It was a wonderful experience. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Wow!!!!!!! You should most definitely stop here if you have the chance :) We were traveling across country and wanted to stop some place between Kansas and Denver. I'm so glad we chose this place :) The owner was EXTREMELY warm and friendly. He also had SUCH a selection of wines (from dry reds to ice wines) and gets his grapes from all over the world. We didn't have a chance to stay at the inn but he took us on a tour and the rooms look amazing (complete with Jacuzzi tubs!)! They also have a private theater, murder mystery dinners, and cooking classes. I can't wait until we visit again :)

Excellent wine. We were traveling back to KC from Denver and made a pit stop. We decided to do a wine tasting and loved every one we tasted. We ended up buying 6 bottles, but their special is buy 5 get 1 free. Absolutely worth it! The Inn was beautiful and staff was very friendly. Definitely a place to stop and stay.

We stopped at this inn/winery on our way to a wedding in Kansas. Don't be fooled by how small the town of Stratton is. The house is absolutely beautiful. It is completely updated, immaculately clean, and has a surplus of character. We chose the red room and it was exactly how it is pictured. We were also able to wander through the other rooms (we were the only guests there at the time) and I can attest that they all have a ton of character! The host was incredibly helpful and informative and the actual owners showed up to cook our meal. The food is INCREDIBLE and it absolutely rivals any 5 star restaurant that we have been to. I can't forget to mention the wine tasting and how delicious their wine is. You can tell that this team takes a lot of pride in their product and service. They are very involved with their community. They also host many different functions such as murder mystery wine dinners and wine pairings. We would HIGHLY recommend this place and hope to visit again in the near future!

If you are looking for a nice place to have a glass of wine after a long drive, this is not your place. Beautiful on the outside but getting screamed at from who I am assuming is the owner is not a good look. I would imagine that most of their traffic comes from tired travelers and they would be more accommodating but apparently not...really sad because we were so excited about this place!

You can tell a lot about a place when you know a little something about the people. On August 8, 2019 I was gassing up at the local Conoco in Stratton, Co. in the early evening. I had three grandson's with me. We were on a dubious adventure, attempting to drive my 70 year antique Oldsmobile from Kansas city to Los Angeles. (brilliant idea right?), The fuel tank started leaking from the top, right there when we filled it up. Not a good thing. We wanted to get on down the road and make up some lost time but it appeared we were stuck for the night. I walked the short distance to the Claremont Inn and reluctantly paid for 2 rooms for the night. The clientele appeared to be well dressed, and very relaxed at the bar. I could tell it was a classy place but they took us anyway, even with a little dirt on us from trying to fix the car. Long story short, the fuel tank had leaked out enough already so it would not leak anymore as long as we did not fill it all the way up. Harry from the Claremont had seen me at the Claremont, and heard our lamenting when he himself stopped at the Conoco. He instantly figured out for himself that we wanted to be gone instead of spending the night. No problem, says Harry grinning, and saying he wished he was going with us on our adventure. We drove right back to the hotel, and Harry processed a complete refund and sent us on our way with a smile. We did not stay there but I would say it is the best place I never stayed at, and I have stayed at some fine and elegant places. Five Stars to the Claremont and Harry... Lloyd Dunn, Kona, Hawaii.

This place has customer service and satisfaction figured out to a tee. We have been 3 times now in the previous few years and I can't wait to go back. I am impressed more and more each time. I don't think there's another place in Colorado I have told more people about. I guarantee you will not be disappointed if you check this place out. From the moment you walk in the front door you feel like royalty. There isn't a better place to unwind and relax. It is a perfect weekend getaway from Denver- easy drive and no traffic. The rooms are fabulous, the wine is amazing, the food is absolutely delicious and the service you receive is second to none.

This place is amazing! Beautiful and totally unexpected in the small town of Stratton, Colorado. Love that they've added a winery too! Wonderful food, wine, hospitality and luxury!
