Clarion Collection Hotel Cardinal

The bed was very soft but the room was very nice. The shower is quite large and the bathroom is great. The staff was helpful, the breakfast servers are very nice. The breakfast and dinner was very taste.

This is honestly one of the best hotels I’ve visited in Sweden. We had reserved a deluxe room and got a massive (roughly 45-50 sqm) junior suite, with a hint of luxury and comfy furniture. The shower, while a bit dated, was also massive and had fantastic (dare I say unrivaled) water pressure in the rainfall showerhead. Best of all, the was quiet and undisturbed from the ”stadsfest” going on outside. Philip at the front desk was also truly superb - the best service I’ve gotten at any hotel in Sweden. Unfortunately, I can’t give a full five stars since some of the towels had hairs on them (eww) and the ventilation was non-existant, even with fully opened windows.

We came at 19:30, and we got no information what so ever that the restaurant closes at 20, about two hours before normal closing times in Sweden. Food was included in the price, so we paid for food we didn't receive. Do not recommend staying here, other places have more competitive prices for service you will actually receive.

Location is right in the town centre and perfect for shops & restaraunts with a supermarket a 2 minute walk away. The room was compact but perfectly laid out with all the essentials you would need. I had no sound drainage from the hall but could hear some from the street outside in the evening but it was Eurovision night so anticipated that and nothing too distracting. Considering it is a free extra, the breakfast & dinner buffets are very good. Staff are also extremely helpful as they checked immediately upon me reporting an issue with the door and being offered an alternative room immediately. I would certainly be happy to stay here again.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location! I was only here for one night, wish I would have been there longer and will definitely visit again. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a good size with a lovely large bathroom. The room looked out onto the sun terrace, which was also beautiful. There was no air-con in the room but a fan was provided. Room 306 was right next to the stairwell so you could hear people stomping up and down but this wasn’t very frequent. Fika, dinner and breakfast were all included and delicious. I especially enjoyed the home made bread served with dinner - I don’t know what type of bread it was but it was so yummy and so soft. A short walk from the train station and shops and restaurants close by, as well as a beautiful park and lake to go for walks. I would highly recommend this hotel, and can’t wait for my next visit!

Fabulous hotel, great proximity to station. Free dinner and breakfast which was exceptional quality and quantity. This hotel coped extremely well with many British visitors on Monday night in town for parkrun by the lake. They were extremely helpful and friendly. The staff at breakfast worked very hard and I thanked them personally. I totally recommend it.||||Disliked · Just some noise on the front, but it was warm so windows had to be open. They provided a fan. This is not the hotel's fault, but if you are a light sleeper, request a room nearer the back.

Not even a single point to give them a star. Small rooms ,rude & arrogant employees, below average food quality, and during summer the room is like an air fryers. All these should be enough to make your stay at Växjö remeberable. And yeah they support the go green initiative, so dont expect them cleaning the room if you stay for more than a day.

Having been married for 25 years to a Hotel General Manager, Ive stayed in hotels all over the US. I have stayed at this hotel a total of 3 times before, and have always been pleased with the staff, the food, and the cleanliness. The rooms have been recently renovated and what an amazing difference! Lina checked us in (and out) and was beyond professional and helpful, not to mention extremely knowledgable and friendly. ||The beds are new and very comfortable, amazing fluffy and oversized pillows too. Very nice amenities including higher end hand soap and shower gel. The room provided everything we could need except a mini fridge which would have been a nice add-on. The cleanliness was outstanding! And as a former hotel person I know what to look for...the only thing I found out of place was 1 fingerprint on one of the 3 huge windows... ; ) No dust and sparkling clean bathrooms, and surfaces. ||Dinner and breakfast buffet (along with coffee /tea and cookies at check in )are always included in the cost of the room. For dinner last night the menu consisted of no less than 5 very creative salads, (think mushroom, caesar, bean and so on. All very flavorful and fresh. The mains were roasted pork loin with two sauce options along with really amazing au gratin potatoes, fresh bread choices as well. Fruit and cheese. Drink options are water (only still) ,everything else is for purchase (wine, beer, cider, soda). Breakfast was also outstanding...very Swedish/English touches, baked beans, scrambled eggs, bacon, small smoked sausages, hard and soft boiled eggs were among the hot dishes along with cold cereals, extensive fresh breads, a fruit and cheese table. Oatmeal with all the options including fresh lingonberries, and pastries. And famous Swedish pancakes (think crepes )They even had a sampling of fresh micro-greens, smoked cold meats like pork, ham and turkey to put on your traditional Swedish macka or open faced sandwich).||This hotel is located in downtown Växjö within walking distance to great bars and nightlife including a real Irish pub just across from the hotel that offers live Irish music on the weekends.The hotel offers a sauna and a gym, and a really lovely lounge with cocktails for purchase. The only drawback I could find was no ice machines, but this is to be expected for hotels in Europe. There is for fee garage parking (about 19.00 usd per night), but local (free after 6pm parking is just around the corner) ||I cant say enough great things about this property. We will be regulars for sure!!!

Definitely not cheap! But a real good deal considering the central location and the fabulous breakfast and the wonderful dinner. Sure, dinner is a buffet but you can easily make it a four course feast. The personnel is super friendly and helpful - I really recommend this place.
