The hotel is in a good location, a short walk away from the Gågata pedestrian area with its restaurants and shopping. It's a much longer trek to the ski jump area which is definitely worth a visit when the jumpers are practicing. ||Parking in the hotel's garage is 250 NOK per night (you need to reserve space in advance). We actually parked outside the hotel on the street and used the EasyPark app to pay (the fee was minimal as parking was free from 5pm to 9am). ||Our basic room was a fairly standard size but with a nice shower room...and it was spotlessly clean. The only issue was the lack of air-conditioning. ||Unusually, our booking rate included both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was a decent spread and in fact better than we had experienced in many more expensive hotels, whilst dinner turned out to be a Tex-Mex buffet. It was more than adequate and great value for money given the very reasonable rate that we had paid. ||The hotel has a small gym and sauna too, and lots of outdoor terrace seating. In the afternoon, they serve complimentary cake with tea or coffee (tea/coffee are freely available at anytime). ||Overall, we enjoyed our one night stay at this hotel.

Clean with small rooms, a pleasant staff and nice breakfast. Efficiently and inexpensively appointed. Very utilitarian. Location is good for exploring Lillehammer. Shower is extremely tiny and I am a small person. Towels are thin. No cloth bath mat provided. Adequate.

Pleasant one-night stay at Hotel Hammer. Comfy twin beds and room quiet throughout the night. Aircon definitely could have been stronger as it was a pretty warm day and temperature controls not the easiest to navigate. The Front Desk said the room would cool down later in the day and also provided a small desk fan, which was appreciated. Dinner was average but given it’s included in the room-price there would be no reason to skip this perk. We were lucky enough to find a free parking spot right in front of the hotel and just had to vacate by 9am. Standard breakfast buffet-coffee was very good. Great location to the center for shopping, people watching and grabbing a drink.

Nice little hotel that included a wonderful dinner buffet in the price (along with breakfast, of course). And had carrot cake in the afternoons. Lots of areas to sit around and visit with friends.

Apparently the hotel caters to bus tours and does not have the space and facilities to handle the morning breakfast rush. The breakfast buffet was a zoo with everyone trying to eat at the same time around 7:00. They only had one coffee machine for all the patrons.|The Hotel faces a busy street so that there was a lot of noise as we were trying to sleep. Also they did not have blackout curtains. The towels were threadbare. |They offer a free dinner which did not appear appetizing so we ate elsewhere.

Very nice property. However, in the summer months (like now) there is no A/C in the rooms. During the day they get quite hot. They only have a couple fans. So good luck getting one. Restaurant on property is a buffet. Everything is new and modern. Coffee machine is typical of European hotels.

Stayed here one night with my tour group.|Room 107 - very basic|Room faces parking lot so lots of noise. Birds squawking late at night and early AM. |No A/C or ventilation system. It was much warmer than normal so the room was extremely hot. No safe, body lotion. Body wash & shampoo combined.||Breakfast had,ok,choices.||Good location. Around 10 min walk to town centre,

On arrival we were given a very warm welcome by the Receptionist who spoke perfect English. She explained how we could find the underground car park, which we had pre-booked. She told us about the mealtimes, which included a delicious evening buffet meal, which was easily enough for us. Our bed was comfortable. The hotel was located in the town and we could easily walk to shops and places of interest. |The only very small negative point is that the curtains were not sufficient to make the room dark for sleeping. This may just be our personal taste but we prefer a room that has thick curtains to keep out the light.

I have been traveling for past ten+ months. From US, through Europe, to Australia, Asia, and now in Norway. This is the first time I have run into rude front desk and I am totally taken aback - so the young lady gets the ribbon for worst front desk encounter in the past ~290 days. The restaurant, however, served wholesome, delicious food that deserves high praise. Clarion hotel is fortunate to have Fahad. Rooms were clean, bathroom floor was heated (loved it), and rooms were quiet.

4 stars? Really? No coffee pot, no water, no rug in the bathroom and shower is smaller than a ship. Also the shower door falling apart. Also no safe box in the room... companies ask to don't carry passport. Where should I do now? can wait to see what will happen in the breakfast... look like the motel 5 because the motel 6 have it all.

Very happy with our stay here. Front Desk was very helpful and it was just a short 5 minute walk to the main shopping, food and museum. Free, wonderful dinner and breakfast included. Parking was close and free for our stay. Some construction activity, but it did not impact us. The rooms and building are clean and fresh.
