"Clarion Hotel Mestari is housed in the historic House of Master Builders, right in the heart of Helsinki. The hotel’s industrial-chic design reflects the city’s rich architectural history, while its spacious rooms, gym, and sauna offer a distinguished escape. At the Social Bar & Bistro, contemporary bistro fare complements the urban setting. Located within walking distance of the city’s most iconic attractions and transport hubs, the hotel is as well-suited for business as it is for leisure. With expansive event spaces, it provides a striking venue for everything from corporate meetings to celebratory gatherings." - Tablet Hotels

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay at this hotel. Right in the heart of Helsinki. It’s got a really cool industrial vibe. Room was large and comfortable. It was a busy hotel but still relatively quiet at night. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, but was impressed with the choice and it was great that there was a separate gluten free section with a GF only toaster. We had to leave early for a trip one morning and they put out a small early buffet that we could choose from to take with us which was brilliant. We didn’t eat in the hotel but did get some fries to take up to the room one night which were delicious. Would definitely stay again. Great hotel.

Hotel Mestari was in a great location. Easy walk from train station (airport train) although slightly uphill but only approx 700m. Rooms are clean and comfortable but small. Bathroom was clean. Could do with a pillow menu, no latex or memory foam available. Breakfast was included, I don’t normally book to include so not sure if this is standard with this hotel. |Easy walking to most destinations. We walked to Löyly and close tram stops for all locations. Staff were friendly , would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay. This hotel has a funky industrial vibe decor. Our room, whilst not spacious, was well laid out with good curtains, uber comfortable bed and superior cooling/heating. The bathroom was tight but had an effective shower. The room was quiet and the floor serviced by 3 elevators. Check in was quick and the complimentary breakfast was one of the best we had in the Baltics. The hotel is walking distance from the best Helsinki has to offer including the railway station. We would happily stay there again.

Terrible customer service and zero flexibility We booked this hotel while on our way there, choosing a non-refundable option because we were already traveling. Only two minutes after confirming the reservation, we realized that by mistake we had selected the same dates—but in the wrong month. We immediately contacted the hotel, explained the situation politely, and asked simply to move the booking to the correct month. They completely refused. No understanding, no effort to help, no basic kindness. When we arrived at the hotel, Alisa at the front desk was extremely unkind, dismissive, and unwilling to show any flexibility. Instead of trying to assist, she spoke to us with a cold and unhelpful attitude. It was one of the worst customer service experiences we’ve had. Mistakes happen, but any decent hotel would at least try to find a solution—especially when contacted just two minutes after booking. Their behavior was unprofessional, rude, and deeply disappointing. I strongly advise others to stay away from this place—because if you ever need help, empathy, or even basic respect, you won’t find it here.

During our visit to Helsinki, we stayed here 3 nights. The rooms were somewhat small with a narrow amount of space on one side of the bed and also at the foot. The bed was very comfortable and the curtains shut out the summer light. There were electrical outlets on both sides of the bed which was nice. We had enough counter space in the bathroom and the shower stall was nice and large. We had breakfast included each morning at the hotel restaurant, and it had a very large selection of hot and cold items that were the same each morning.

The hotel’s location was perfect—just a 10-minute walk from Helsinki Central Station. The facilities were modern and spotless, and the free sauna (though small) was a nice bonus. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My only minor complaint was that the bed was a bit too soft. Overall, a fantastic stay!

The hotel has a great location, making it convenient for exploring the area. The breakfast buffet was impressive, offering a wide variety of items to choose from—plenty to suit different tastes. A solid option for both comfort and convenience.

Hotel Mestari was great — very stylish, comfortable, and in a good central location. The staff were beyond friendly, and the food in the restaurant was excellent. The only downside for me was the breakfast. While there were a few vegan options, they were very basic — mainly bread with jam, some vegan cheese, and porridge. The porridge was served cold and wasn’t very pleasant. There were no vegan pastries or savoury options, which was disappointing, especially given how high-quality the rest of the hotel felt. I understand that not everyone is vegan, but a few more creative choices would make a huge difference. As it was, I ended up eating bread and jam most mornings. Overall, I liked the hotel a lot and might stay again — I’d just go in knowing that breakfast isn’t a strong point for vegans.
