Had a wonderful stay. Great location at the heart of Oslo near Central Station, public transport, and the Opera Center. Modern clean and spacious . Also the provided breakfast is delicious. Highly recommend.

My family of four, two adults and two college-age kids, had a superb stay at this hotel on a recent visit to Oslo. Our rooms were upgraded - I don't know why - so my kids had a junior suite with two separate sleeping areas and my husband and I had a balcony. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We thought the location near the train station, harbor and opera house, was great and although there was some street noise when the windows were open. The included breakfast buffet was massive and delicious. You could really fill up and skip lunch if you needed to. I would stay here again with no hesitation.

I booked this hotel for the location and because it said it had air conditioning. The location is indeed perfect, close to everything you need. The breakfast was delicious. ||Other than that, I cannot recommend this hotel. First, the doors do not lock on their own and they do not tell you this! What a huge safety issue! We left our room on the first morning for breakfast and realized the door did not lock. I waited in the room while my husband went downstairs to ask the reception about it and they said you have to use the keycard to lock the door yourself. This is absolutely crazy and something I have never seen at any hotel in the world. The fact that they don't tell you this is just unbelievable. I wonder how many people don't notice this and leave the rooms unlocked?||Furthermore, the safe in our room did not work. They sent maintenance to our room who could not fix it. We also told him the air conditioning was not working and he said it was working properly. However, it was hot in our room, so hot we could not sleep. It is summer and it was hot. I chose this hotel specifically because it claimed to have air conditioning. It had a thermostat but never actually cooled the room. It felt above 23 C the whole time, even though we had the thermostat set to 18 C (which is 64 F and we should have been freezing!)||Anyway, he said someone would come the next day and replace the battery in the safe. The next day, our safe still didn't work so we went down to reception to ask and they said it couldn't be fixed. They did say we could switch rooms, but that was inconvenient. I would just have liked some communication because it appeared to us like no one had come again to even try to fix it--like they didn't care that the safe was broken. ||Also, there was a light out in the bathroom making it hard to put on makeup and our TV did not work. We did not even bring those things up because I never like to complain at a hotel and I felt like we had already asked them about the safe and ac with no luck so why bother. ||It is a shame because the hotel is lovely, the rooms are nice, the location is perfect, and the breakfast is amazing. I just didn't feel safe or comfortable in the room. I get that Norway has a low crime rate, but you are hosting guests from all over the world and the least you can do is make sure safety features like door locks and safes are working properly. ||Also, I would recommend taking climate control off your hotel website as an amenity because that is very misleading. I would have preferred to have booked a nicer, less expensive hotel with no AC since yours does not work properly.

We booked this hotel based on its very high TripAdvisor ratings, but this is one of the rare times I don’t fully understand the rave reviews. The hotel is modern and appears relatively new, and for our purposes—just an overnight stay before starting the Norway in a Nutshell tour—it was fine but not memorable. The location is a plus—very close to the Oslo Opera House and Central Train Station.||The room we booked was very small, though we expected that and it worked for our short stay. I would not book this size room if staying any longer. Water pressure in the shower was excellent and the water was hot, which we appreciated. Like other reviewers have mentioned, the door lock system is a little confusing and they really should explain it better at check-in.||The BREAKFAST is absolutely the standout feature here. It’s the nicest included breakfast buffet I’ve encountered in all my travels—omelette station, yogurt bar, fresh breads, and even a barista making coffee drinks in a lovely, restaurant level setting. That alone elevates the entire stay from just average to good. ||We didn’t find a phone in the room, so if you had questions, you had to go down to the front desk in person. Staff were friendly, but it was a little inconvenient.||We also visited the hotel bar, Shutters. When I asked for a margarita, the server told us they could only make the cocktails listed on the menu. He suggested a drink for me to try, but when I requested it be made without egg white, he said they could not stray from the recipe listed (even thought the menu said in fine print at the bottom that they could make drinks without egg white). I found that a bit odd for a full hotel bar/restaurant to not be able to make other drinks or modify them. ||One thing to note: the hotel doesn’t have traditional air conditioning. It uses an “air ventilation” system instead. We lucked out with mild weather, but I agree with other reviewers that this could be an issue during warmer months.

I loved my room, great furniture - everything was well thought. I loved the bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. It wasn't cheap but it was worth the money. I have tried to stay again but it wasn't available (and I stayed at the other Clarion, which is not as good). Great location.|This is my hotel of choice in Oslo!

This hotel would be much better if it didn't try to be so ultra modern, hip and trendy, and focused instead on good old hospitality. |Trendy low point one: the hip showers with no doors. Obviously, if you don't keep the drains rigorously clean, the bathroom will flood with the shortest of showers, which happened in our room. Asked in the morning for someone to take a look, nothing happened; asked again in the evening, but the condescending lady at the reception, trying to get rid of the problem instead of helping her guests, brazenly lied to me - "It's very common to have open showers in Scandinavia." Well my husband is Norwegian, I've been visiting Scandinavia regularly for the last 20 years, and no one in our extended Norwegian family has or ever had open showers. Maybe at pretentious hotels they may be. |It was very hot in Oslo during our stay, and contrary to my expectation, turns out this hotel (as most in Scandinavia) doesn't have A/C. You guys have to reach out to TripAdvisor and have this fixed; when filtering for hotels with A/C in the rooms, your hotel shows top on the list. This meant we had to sleep with the windows open, which helped a bit but not enough. Thankfully we didn't mind the street noise. |The breakfast was indeed delicious but, as some mentioned in the reviews, very busy and chaotic; the staff was super nice and helpful, though. |In all, an overpriced pretentious place.

Clean, quiet, spacious rooms. Centrally located a short walk to major sights and transit. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was outstanding. The deluxe rooms are spacious with beautiful views and some of the windows open so you can get fresh air! The only con was the safe. It was in a hard to reach location and was really finicky and took several tries to open and close it. Otherwise, it was a fantastic experience.

We had a superior room which was spacious although was a little warm and didn’t seem to have aircon. All other facilities were as expected. Location is central and only 5 mins from central station. ||Breakfast was excellent with an omlette station and barista coffees alongside the usual hotel offering. Regrettably only 1 small toaster though and no sliced bread.
