I stayed here for two days around Eurovision week.
Firstly, this was the cheapest hotel my PA could find, Radisson Blu was over £100 more expensive for a similar room.
The designers had obviously "been on the cheese" the night before presenting their vision of a hotel to the board of the hotel group.
*Don't take this as a negative because it's not. *
Too often a hotel is the same corporate, stuffy environment for middle-aged, overweight men to sit (in their underpants) watching local TV while sneaking a cheeky bottle of supermarket wine before drifting into a comatose sleep worrying about their blood pressure and end of quarter figures.
Thankfully, Clarion Sign is not that kind of a place. It's vibrant and fun, the rooms are quiet, well appointed and comfortable. There's an extensive gym complete with rows of people who spend far too much time in the gym, but that's not a problem - hey, it's Sweden, everyone's equal in their eyes.
I arrived at some inhuman time of the morning and was greeted by a very polite, friendly and helpful night porter who couldn't do enough to assist.
The next surprise was the lift (elevator) to my floor. Each of them has a theme, mine was disco and true to their word, a pair of Numark decks with Deckadance installed on a hidden Mac greeted me. There was also a mirror ball and lighting. As a DJ (in my other life), I decided to have a play... cheeky. The range of tracks is a bit cheesy pop so don't expect any Adam Bayer or Green Velvet.

The room is just about right, my only criticisms are the WiFi is really poor. Very slow and unreliable. You can buy a Telia voucher, but I wouldn't bother, they share the same infrastructure and (quite frankly) didn't provide capacity for this size of hotel.
As usual in so many European hotels, there's no *****ng kettle - which is an outrage, but you can put that down to my over-developed sense of angst at not having a cup of tea when I wake.
Bathroom is very good and well appointed.
Breakfast was splendid, plenty of choice, very fresh and lots of space to eat undisturbed.
All in all, great hotel, cheeky attitude and very well run.
If Clarion only had a decent loyalty programme....
