We were booked in The Hub for a post cruise 2 night break. The location was superb right in the heart of the city, across the road from the station, close to all the shops, the waterfront.||The kind receptionist gave us a room on the 12th floor away from a party being held on the 2nd floor, we were grateful for this. The room was spacious with some curious art on the walls, had tea/coffee machine, lots of charging points and a massive shower room.||Breakfast was usual buffet but with so much choice of hot and cold foods, different juices, teas, coffees, catering for food allergies well too.||Everything in Oslo is expensive, food, drink, souvenirs etc etc but we were on holiday so had to try some of the local beers, these were great but at £22 for less than a pint didn't have many.||It was very cold -14 and snowy when we were there, cleats were a must on the shoes, we wandered around on food but the local transport appeared very good, a day ticket covered, buses, trams, metro too. We walked to the royal palace and was amazed how close you can get with not much obvious security unlike Buckingham Palace. We would have got the tram out to the sculpture park had it not been so cold on the face, everything else wrapped up warm.||We took a walk along the waterfront from the Opera house and watched the sun set then watched the locals using the saunas then breaking the ice in the fjord to cool off. A strange site for us to see but was very popular.||If we come back to Oslo again we would definitely stay in The Hub.
